An "easy" read biography of the infamous Usain Bolt, the Jamaican sprinter whose speed is amazing to all who see him. This book has limited words with bold print for the youngest readers. This book contains additional facts of interest such as Bolt's height is 6'5", so he is taller than other sprinters. He runs 100m with fewer strides, averaging 41 strides, while other sprinters take 45 strides. The book contains a glossary, index and a Abdo Kids code for access to crafts, games, videos and more. Usain Bolt has easily won three Olympic medals and broken world records several times. Bolt is exciting to watch and thoroughly unpredictable. Boys and girls who have a desire to run track or like track meets will enjoy the photos in this book about the Lightning Bolt!

Usain Bolt is an informational text for young children. With large text and photographs pre-readers are introduced to Olympic sprinter, Usain Bolt from Jamaica. Words included in the glossary at the back of the book are printed in a different color. This title is one in a series of Olympic biographies. Other titles included in this series include the following: Aly Raisman, Michael Phelps, and Simone Biles. Additional features include a table of contents, index, glossary, more facts, and access to online content using a special code.

The ABDO Kids non-fiction series books that I have reviewed usually have a varied assortment of pictures as well as facts, on the subject it is addressing. This was not the case for Usain Bolt's biography. The text focused on the events and medals he's won, including the three gold medals in the 2016 Olympics in Brazil, but does not deal much with Usain's early life, struggles, training, or motivation. A very basic biography best suited for Kinder and First grade readers.

A simple biography of Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt. This is a very basic introduction to Bolt’s accomplishments paired with plenty of large photographs. It does not mention Bolt’s retirement and will serve a very limited audience. Optional purchase for larger collections.

If you are wanting a primary text about Olympic athletes, this is a good series (Abdo Kids, Olympic Biographies). This book highlights Usain's 3 historic Olympics.
