Prof. Ahmed Rafique Akhter has written in an eloquent manner in beautiful poetic prose. This is a book where the Professor's command of urdu language really comes to the forefront.
This is basically a book for modern muslims who are taken in with the advancements of the west and confuse its progress in the domain of the natural sciences with its views on religion. The Professor clarifies that the west's progress in no way also automatically makes its view on religion (i.e. Atheism) correct.
He goes on to give examples of the great western philosophers or scientists who may indeed be great in their respective fields but are not experts on religion or God as he terms it, since they have not made as much as effort to come to a conclusive opinion on God as they have made on their respective domains of natural science or philosophy. He explains how their decision to not deem God worthy of the utmost priority is a failure on their part of realizing what is of utmost importance. He says if there is the possibility of there being an Omnipotent presence, who is watchful of our actions and will judge us accordingly; what could be more important than reaching the truth of the matter.
He links this argument to the Quran and its claim that it is God's (Allah's) word, His message to mankind. The Prof. says that we have a book that claims to be from God and to confirm for sure that it is from God is also easy, because if there is a single mistake in the content it cannot be an omnipotent, omniscient God's message. He asks how many of the great minds of the world even tried to read it with an open mind, without preconceived notions the same way philosophers and scientists would approach any other worldly problem. These so called great minds decided that it could not possibly be God's word without reading the content.
He also makes many other great points and arguments and overall the book would be very useful to young modern muslims who are perhaps having some sort of identity crisis in this day and age of material excess.
