In Texas Fridays, six high school football teams are profiled from the perspective of a single player. Each young man struggles in his own way to avoid injuries, deal with personal relationships, and recruiting pressure--all while stepping into the role of the star player. The pomp and pageantry of Texas high school football takes center stage, as six high school athletes from completely different backgrounds chase down their dreams under the Friday night lights.
/Personal Response/: I liked it because it talked a lot about football and how he played. It was kind of boring at some points but good overall.
/Plot Summary/: At the beginning of the book, a guy named James Baker was a star football player. As the book goes on it talks about games, practices, and what he does on h is own time. His coach was nice to him, but later on got mean as the season went on. He ends up playing really well, and then gets injured. He goes to the hospital and recovers fast, but at the end of the book, he gets injured even worse.
/Recommendation/: I recommend this book for teen boys that like sports. It talks a lot about games, practices, and his personal life. It is a great book for anyone who likes football.
