About the author

1944年東京都生まれ。東京水産大学（現 東京海洋大学）卒業。国立科学博物館で哺乳類の分類学・生態学を学ぶ。
文部省（現 文部科学省）の国際生物学事業計画（IBP）調査、環境庁（現 環境省）のイリオモテヤマネコの生態調査などに参加する。トウホクノウサギやニホンカワウソの生態、富士山の動物相、トガリネズミをはじめとする小型哺乳類の生態、行動などを調査している。
上野動物園の動物解説員を経て、「ねこの博物館」（静岡県伊東市）館長。著書は多数。

Such a cute book aimed at kids about animals who either have "unfortunate" physical attributes, lifestyles, abilities, or tendencies. Some range from tending to pick fights they absolute cannot win to having square poop. Not all of them seem unfortunate as much as it's just weird but the whole collection is really delightful.

There's I think 4 so far in the series and I got the first 3. I like reading a couple a day just as a small break. I need to get back into reading regular novels in Japanaese but these are a good transition point.

めっちゃ面白い！もちろん子ども向けだけどこの大人にとって色んな知らない動物の情報あった。後アートとかプレゼンセーションも良かった！
