Rate this book
Darlinghurst Road is a journey through the streets of a red-light district after dark. It is the true story of a strange, parallel universe filled with sex, drugs, criminals and violence. Gritty, disturbing and written without compromise, Darlinghurst Road is a book that will stay with you long after you have put it down. Read the book, take the journey and experience this rare opportunity to peer through the murky window into a world that most people will never see.

Australia is known for producing characters and T.C. Doust is one of the originals. He's quietly spoken, with a firm handshake, and a wickedly dry sense of humor. After decades of adventure down under, a short trip to America led to a permanent move and a new chapter in a fascinating life. He lives in California, with his wife Mary, and always a page half-written.

As someone who has lived in Kings Cross it hit many nerves because the people in the book were the kind of people I would have known and loved to some degree. It's a sad life but we all made the most of it and I'm grateful to be one of the lucky ones who made it out alive!

This book was an interesting read. Typically this wouldn't be the type of book I would choose but I found it well written and quite enjoyable.

Some interesting tales, but it got a bit repetitious later in the book. I worked in Kings Cross during the day in the newsagents in the late 80’s and this brings back some memories. Good stories but needed more variety or the book needed to be shorter.
