Mabel is a very successful and in demand wedding planner, whose business has recently taken off in Atlanta. She absolutely loves her job and almost everything in her life is perfect. The only thing missing is her own groom and her own happily ever after marriage. As someone who had recently turned forty, she watched couple after couple marry, and she wondered if she was ever going to have that for herself.
But during one of her gigs, just as Mabel was about to give up on love altogether, she met a man who was about to change her life forever.
Greg Smith is a wealthy widowed businessman who is both smart and very cunning. While attending a friend's wedding that Mabel plans, he meets her, and instantly wants her. Greg is impressed by Mabel's success and they hit it off. But as their love grows a jealous ex enters from the shadows, throwing their relationship into chaos. Add into the mix some family secrets and a surprise they never would expect, and their journey is anything but smooth.
While they both learn love makes you do crazy things, they eventually understand you can never give up on love.
I kinda liked the way the relationship between greg and Mabel developed....I liked the way that even though she really liked him she stood her ground about not dealing with client and anyone involved with the client (wedding party members) But boi oh boi when that client finally got married it was on and popping for Greg and Mabel....haaawwwwttt lololol but it was kinda fast paced at times and I feel like maybe there could have possibly been more development in certain parts. Three parts in particular but I'll give the book away if I say it. Besides that though I enjoyed the book!
This story was OK. I liked that the two characters were older and not naïve. I liked Greg and Mabel for the most part. Greg surprised me with his handling of Jed. Mabel was kind of foolish agreeing to meet up with him. I was annoyed with the pregnancy and I thought the ending was rushed. I tried to read the second book but it was boring and didn't finish it. I actually enjoyed the 3rd book even more than the main story.
I understand this was a debut novel but it still needs more work. She decides at the end of his friend wedding to date and then sleep with him at the reception. Their backgrounds should have been revealed before the last chapter and now we supposed to believe that he's not just a business man. I was a little disappointed.
This was my first book by this author. Story was pretty good but I skipped some pages. It went kind of fast and the characters could have been a little more developed.
MABEL, YOU COULD ALMOST SAY SHE'S NEVER A BRIDE EVEN THOUGH SHE MAKES A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE GETTING MARRIED VERY HAPPY. TICK TOCK MABEL WANTS HER OWN HEA ;D
The story started off slow. By the middle it picked up but I felt like when Jed came into the picture it just fell off from there. The ending was rushed to me and didn't make much sense.
