North American bears are powerful animals with sharp teeth and claws. Although they rarely confront humans, their attacks can cause serious injury and even death. Bears presents true stories of people who had a violent encounter with a grizzly, black, or polar bear -- and lived to tell about it.

OK, this is a 4 star for kids but a three star for me, because I'm a super wimp and there's a picture of a guy bleeding all over his head after a bear attack and I don't handle that well. But any kid who picks up a book from the series ANIMALS ATTACK is obviously looking for exactly that content, so well done book. I liked the balance between the idea that bear attacks are rare and the idea that if they happen they will seriously mess you up.
