The copy I read was the hardcover Weekly Reader edition, so it had much better artwork. ;) Jennifer is an extremely spoiled and self centered girl who does a lot of growing up for one little novel. I love these 80s books because they are so realistic compared to modern day teen fiction, with both the thoughts and actions of the girls and their home lives and behavior in school. When publishers started depicting all teens as rich and privileged, teen fiction really went downhill. Only the paranormal ones are great these days. Back to this one though, I didn't like Jennifer much throughout this book because she was selfish, immature, jealous and obnoxious, but then she grew up and became likeable. Great book!
