As flawed as they are, I wish people took these books more seriously in school. In a not very surprising twist, our most well-educated bourgeoisie is the first one to sneer at the notion of respecting the environment. It is happy to act like it owns the environment but is equally swift to abandon any responsibility.
The book is quite clear in giving a basic layout for students into the subdisciplines of physical and human geography. I think that the book should be more focussed on laying out basic concepts rather than trying to give advanced concepts in a summarised form. The book gives a lot of freedom to the teacher, however, the understanding of the concepts by the students depends a lot on the pedagogy. In this digital age, the lessons can be integrated more with technological tools like online graphic models of our planetary system, the pressure cells, the convection cells and even the movement of seismic waves. These ideas will be clear only when the students have a visual understanding.
