This wasn't a bad book, but it was very formulaic. First, we started with the "no really it works and no really this is magic!" intro. Then we went into "what is magic", and then finally we started talking about the "magic hacks". I do think the title is very misleading. Usually, magic for me is an ongoing process. Charging things on the full moon or in full sun, collecting rainwater, waiting for the first signs spring is on the way. It's a lot of set up to respond when changes occur. This can be really inconvenient and sometimes overwhelming. I was looking for some potentially snazzy shortcuts for when I'm in a crunch. What I skimmed was all pretty standard "beginners" info I've found in most Neo-Wicca style books.


That said, I did like the short, medium, and long versions Stevens present to help tailor rituals to the time people have available and I'm sure many will find this helpful. I appreciated that Stevens cut out all the ritual preparation work and got to the spells/magic/ritual. Too often books go on forever regarding prep and often it's the same prep in front of each spell. Sometimes it feels like they're intentionally padding the page count, but Stevens was direct and wonderful in this regard. I love the magic is spelled with a c and not a ck, the ck bothers me. I think the tips provided are sound and the price reasonable. I loved that Stevens discussed magic separate from religious rhetoric. I would recommend it to a beginner even though it wasn't for me.

For a dollar you get pretty interesting information and tips that anyone could appreciate. There are some typos and strange wording and it's not totally because it's in British English. Ok though I wouldn't pay more than a buck.

Decent book , definitely longer than 5 minutes

Should change the name to 15 minutes..Decent book, more of a concentration guide than a "magic" guide. Gave 5 stars do to the price and like I stated, cool if you need to learn now to concentrate.
