Rate this book
Just when it seems like Meg Walton can get back to business as usual running the family's donut shop, another murder occurs in the once-sleepy town of Enchanted Bay.

This time, a double-crossing carpet salesman turned theater owner is the victim. As a witch, Meg has unique abilities to investigate the case, but she'd prefer to leave the sleuthing to the cops.

All that changes when the police suspect one of Meg's friends as the possible killer. Meg knows she can't stand idly by. In order to prove her friend's innocence, she decides to find the real killer herself. Can she crack this case and save her friend without the town finding out her secret that she's a witch?

Books in this set include: The Witches Of Enchanted Bay, Ax To Grind, Killer Twist, A Bewitching Murder, The Nuts And Bolts Of Murder, and A Riddle Of A Murder.

Value for money?

It's hard not to like 6 books for 99c but...
I stopped reading after the first four, when I picked it up later I realised why. After the first few books, the characters bogged and while the plots were ok the telling was pedestrian.
There was NO tension just dialoque that wasn't truely convincing.
At this price you have little investment it may be worth it for the first couple of books.

Happy Halloween (The Witches of Enchanted Bay #1-6) was a great box set by Amelia Morgan. It consisted of the books; Witches of Enchanted Bay, Ax To Grind, Killer Twist, A Bewitching Murder, The Nuts and Bolts of Murder and A Riddle of a Murder. Meg and Connor investigate many murders that happen in the small town of Enchanted Bay.

Good start

I liked the beginning of the set, but it became monotonous at four. I think that is where the set should have stopped.

A well below average set of books with mediocre story lines and boring characters. Don’t waste your time.

Kindle Unlimited 7 book set, other sets etc, redundant and more and more unbelievable

Book 1 -- The Witches Of Enchanted Bay Book 2 -- Ax To Grind Book 3 -- Killer Twist Book 4 -- A Bewitching Murder Book 5 -- A Riddle Of A Murder Book 6 -- The Nuts And Bolts Of Murder then 7 book collection has so can't tell what they added or subtracted from the books listed before or the number designation because claims 7 --Strangling Ambition 8 -- Therapy Can Be Murder so either can't count or some book left out

Magically a sleuth

Surprisingly I really enjoyed this set of stories . I fully expected to not enjoy since they were free. So I was pleasantly surprised! Recommend these for a nice cozy read.

Good who done it.

While trying to keep the fact that she is a witch Meg helps her detective boyfriend solve some murders, and even one out of town, when her best friend turns up dead of an apparent suicide.

This is a boxed set of the "Enchanted Bay" books. It is best to read these in order and this is a great way to get that done. Meg Walton is a witch that runs a donut shop and solves murders. When Meg's grandmother Penelope was dying, Meg and her mother turned her into a "sassy talking cat with lots of attitude" mostly driven for her own needs. Penelope can no longer cast spells, which is a disadvantage as far as she is concerned. Then there is Connor Smith, Meg's boyfriend and police detective. He doesn't know that Meg or her mother are witches and the town doesn't know this either. There is 6 different stories in this set which are light hearted cozy mysteries with a sense of humor and some romance. Give them a try and I think you will like them too.

I read the first book in this series. I liked the idea of a witch running a donut shop, She made donuts, that were healthy, and didn't cause a weight gain. She would do magic every morning to increase her materialism, that would be a pretty good trick. The witches best friend is a suspect in the murder of her boy friend, and so the witch is out to prove her innocence. I thought the idea was a good one, but I thought the questions she asked weren't quite up to snuff. I couldn't quite get into her character. I will read the other books, and hope that things get better. I like cozy mysteries, and I had high hopes for this one.

Not great but ok

The general idea for the series is good, but the writing skills need work and the stories need proper editing. Also, catching a killer without any evidence is not a good way to write a murder mystery. And most of the stories ended the same way - Meg suddenly knows who the killer is, confronts them, they confess and go to kill her when the police come out from hiding. I'm glad at least the 6th one ended differently.

Having read this series's of books i was didappointed hoe predictable they were. I'm an avid reader and can on!y assume these are aimed at the young teenage market .sadly only mildly entertaining. The first two were okay

But the others were like reading them again with slightly different characters and scenario's. More could have been made of Penelope's character as she had potential

Cookie cutter

Unfortunately the books Did not engage me after the first one. They were extremely repetitive. The time of death always the same, the amount of suspects the same, and the ending was the same. Even though they are tied together they needed to have something different in each book.

When I get the moment to read a book set like these I can never say who or which one is my favorite because I love them all! I have enjoyed each book! They have their own quirks and reasons of why things happen the way they do! Each book is well written by fabulous authors!

Waste of time

These series of books seem to have been amateurly written using a formula style plot. I couldnt even make it tbrough the first book. Book 2 was no better. Dont waste your valuble time reading fluff.

Magical fun

I gave this book a four. This would have been a five, but I had already read three of the books. All the books were funny, with great characters and a talking cat. I'm looking forward to reading more in the series.

Ok

This was not the best murder mysteries I've ever read. Too much repetition in the stories. Very cliche. "Don't even think about leaving town ". Or too repetitive in the "how to cast a spell without anyone knowing and using the same one over and over. Just not great.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
