Gargoyles #3

When a Gargoyle Flies

Rate this book
Two months have passed since Kylie first accidentally awoke the gargoyle, Luc. (Surely other women get drunk and decide on a whim to kiss a statue too, right?) With each passing day Kylie, Luc and the rest of their growing clan are searching for other gargoyles to free from their enforced sleep.

Annis, a female gargoyle with a damaged wing fears that her life in this new world will be just as hard as life with her old clan. Used and abused by her old clan members, she doubts she will be truly accepted by her new clan either. However, there is one bright spot – a human called Chris who she met after she knocked him out and tied him to a chair (that’s another story). The male incites some very alien feelings in her that almost make her forget that she is a broken gargoyle.

But although Chris cannot deny his attraction to the sweet gargoyle he is reticent – still burned from his marriage and uncertain there could be any future with a gargoyle. He tries to stay away from her, but the two are thrust together, and while trying to sort out their feelings, they find themselves running for their lives.

With old enemies lingering in the background, Chris and Annis will have to fight their issues and fight to stay alive.

Caution is advised as this is intended for mature readers only - it contains scenes of a sexual nature between a sweet gargoyle and a gruff human.

I'm really liking how the Gargoyle series is shaping up.

The start of the book summarises what has happened in the first two books, mainly that there is a race of Gargoyles who are in stone form and need to be awakened. That Lucifer (or Luc) is the leader of a hodge-podge clan of awakened gargoyles and that his mate Kylie awoke him and is helping to wake other gargoyles.

This story is about Chris (or chief tight pants) and Annis who is a female gargoyle but special in that she was hurt during her mothers pregnancy and as such can't fly or fight. The story between them is very sweet, and I liked how you still got a bit about the other characters in the book, and not just a fleeting mention of them but the whole story weaves together as one.

This probably could be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading the series in order. I usually prefer kick butt heroines, but I was pretty impressed with Annis and her ability to adapt. The gargoyles are fascinating and their friends are entertaining. There is humor, action, secret supernatural beings, suprises, and romance. I look forward to reading more in this series.

Really Good

This one was a lot more adult than the last and I loved the forray into the characters insecurities that humanized them so much more.

The action was intense and I'm really enjoying all the twists and turns of this world.

And the story continues

This series gets better and better with each installment. I knew I would love Annie and Chris story, based on how they met. Castro's mass was a surprise though, but I like the complexity of his character. You give us little surprises into his possibilities. And I really felt there was more to Drago, and soon we'll find out. I'm ready for the next book, I hope this series continues.

Another wonderful addition to the gargoyle series.

This was book number 3 in the series and it was a delight to read. The story this time is based on a female gargoyle Annis and she was a lovely character, kind hearted, loving, polite and soft spoken. She is the epitome of kindness considering the life she was forced to live back in her time, a life of hardship, suffering and pain which should have hardened her and made her withdraw from everyone only seemed to make her stronger within and even kinder to all, a true heroine. Reading about her growing more confident about herself and proving her worth while displaying her bravery despite her obsticles was heart warming and she deserved every bit of happiness she got a truely beautiful person inside and out. This story was filled with action, suspence, romance and some amazing plot twists that I did not see coming leaving me feeling a bit anxious until the next book to quench my curiosity. I love the fact that these stories mention the other characters from the previous books giving as a glimpse on how their own lives are progressing and what is happening, I LOVE THAT!!! I find that I just cant get enough on Kylie and Luc they are my favourite couple and relish any information on them and just want so badly for them to have their own jaglion (wink wink read the story ull know what I mean lol).

I was excited for this book to come out since Annis and Chris get their own love story, however, I was hoping that maybe through love Annis would be able to fly, and maybe she could even give Chris a ride, but it never happened. There is a lot of betrayal going on which threatens Luc's clan, which includes some humans. I like that in this story the gargoyle was a female and her human mate was the man, since it's usually the other way around. They were precious together and humorous sometimes too. They went through so much such as being hunted and I was so nervous during that part. I'm frankly tired of all of the deceit and just wish that they had more happy moments together inside of the clan. I am excited to read about Drago and Martha in the next book. This is impressively written and I just love gargoyles so I couldn't resist reading this series. It's full of adventure, history (their history of course) and most of all, love. :)

Survive the gargoyle hunt

This story gets better with each instalment. The characters show good growth, and the plot is well balanced between simple and complex, changing enough to keep readers guessing the direction.

Girl problems and a stone cold heart

The deadly encounter they have with specialty hunters would put anyone in a bad place. The female finds her vicious and her companion finds her truly likes more than her looks, even if he feels a little emasculated.

So Good!

E.A. Price has me hooked! This storyline just keeps getting better and better with each new installment. I smiled and cheered for the main protagonists! And the teaser at the end nearly got an out loud WHOOP!
