It fell without warning. No pomp and circumstance, no gentle progression from light to dark. Just suddenly darkness.
Blackness. It was not as if night had fallen in the day. There were no stars, no moon. Only residential night lights stood shinning in the darkness. Only their artificial glow guided people to their cars that morning as they left for work. unsure what else to do.
When the darkness didn't dissipate, when the light of day failed to shine through as the day wore on, people began to wonder. And as clocks ticked from evening to night, there came the question of whether or not the sun would rise on tomorrow.
