About the author

Dr. Steven Collins, Ph.D. (Archaeology and Biblical History, Trinity Southwest University, 1997; Ph.D., Trinity Theological Seminary, 1983; M.Div., Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, 1975), is the Dean of the College of Archaeology at Veritas International University, a consulting research professor at Trinity Southwest University (TSU), and the chief excavator (TeHEP Co-Director) at the Tall el-Hammam site in Jordan. An evangelical archaeologist, he claims the latter site is the biblical city of Sodom, though the majority of other scholars disagree on geographical and chronological grounds.

He also has served as Curator of the TSU Museum of Archaeology and on the Board of Directors of the Near East Archaeological Society, and is a Professional Member of American Schools of Oriental Research, World Archaeological Congress, and Society of Biblical Literature.
