This is an excellent book for anyone with M.E or any similar chronic illness who wants to engage in gentle exercise. Donna who writes this books has M.E herself and is a qualified yoga instructor and uses her knowledge of the condition and of yoga to guide you through some simple low-key movements that can help ease pain, stiffness and aches that can arise from having a chronic illness. The book is very informative with Donna sharing her experience of having M.E and the benefits of yoga. Whilst exercise can exacerbate illnesses like M.E I've found this book helpful just to help my body become a little more mobile on days when I am able to and there are several 5-10 minute gentle exercises to chose from in the book such as a 5 minute bedtime yoga routine. There is also an explanation of each yoga movement, what it can help with, cautions to avoid it if necessary (e.g. if you experience headaches) a photo of the yoga pose as well as written instructions on the pose. This book has helped ease me back into yoga with careful guidance especially having a hypermobility disorder alongside my M.E as before I became unwell I used to avidly do a lot of yoga. It's also a good book to dip in and out of as I do regularly.

The author Donna Owens is a CFS/ME warrior herself and is also a yoga instructor. She has developed a gentle yoga for people fighting CFS/ME. You can do it in your bed and in your pj's. You can start with just one asana and build from there on. On very bad flare-up days you can just focus on breathing and do a bit more on better days. Donna really understands what it's like living with CFS/ME and can give really good advice on what to do and how. Really recommend this to anyone interested in very gentle yoga and learning to listen to oneself.
