It is the story back of the story of America. It is the national story of the Bible which needs to be told...and told often....Only 334 pages, but you will wish there was more from this author.A Very Easy read that flows very smooth.I Highly recommended this for the beginner.Big scores here for this book! Hardcover 334 pages
Collins put for the interesting hypothesis that the Magi came from Parthia. He makes the valid point that 3 wise men entering Jerusalem hardly would gone noticed. If considering the journey from across the Euphrates river to Jerusalem, it would take a tremendous caravan and servants to see them through. This is most probably true since Herod was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him (Matthew 2:3).
Another point to consider is the Assyrian captivity who took the ten tribes and a large portion of Judah and resettled them in the East, east of the Euphrates river some 200 yrs approximately before Babylon struck the citadel of Jerusalem. Another side note to add is that Parthia wasn't obscure, citizens of Parthia are among the listed in the upper room with the Apostles in Acts chapter 2.
Excellent starter book to read on finding 'The lost Ten Tribes of Israel'. The fact is they were never lost, but preserved. One of the most interesting reads ever on this subject matter and written in way that you don't want to put the book down!
This book offers an interestimg perspective. The 'Lost Tribes of Isreal' were not lost but truly dispersed. However, most of Colloins' work is speculation or quotes from another author - Rawlins. I would probably gotten more from his book.
