Well written and full of personal anecdotes, the book is very engaging. It covers the mycorrhizal symbioses and a plant's innate immune reactions but in little detail. This book just introduces the concepts but offers a tittles for further reading. My biggest struggle in reading was the omission of evolutionary development in the topics.
