This was a very different type of book. It wasn't the normal paranormal book about vampires or werevolves this book is a different than any type of paranormal that I have read. I was drawn into the hot and sexy then the thrills and spooky. It did get a bit too spiritual during the middle of the book but then I understood it by the end. I did feel that Sam was a little weak but were Sam was weak Delilah was strong. Both characters played well together to make the story enjoyable until the end. Although I was left speechless, I enjoyed the ride, and the step outside of my normal comfort zone.

This is a super fun and quick read! I flew through it while on a road trip with my family out of state, and it was a great break from the more dense books that I'd brought along with me. However, I think it could have benefitted a bit from another 100-ish pages. I loved what I read, but I also would have liked it to slow down every now and then to really flesh out the intriguing world and sassy characters. I felt like I only got a glimpse of them since the pace is so quick! I thought that the mind-reading aspect was done suuuuper well! The author really wove it in smoothly with the story and dialogue. The writing itself is witty and appropriate for the narrator but a bit unedited--just a few typos here and there, nothing that detracts from the experience of the story :)
