A man moves to an old house on a lake with his family. Though he won't believe it - people and animals start seeing things in the house. His small son seems to be the target of the haunting, made all the more terrifying by what his wife reveals to him about her past...
Creepy, I should have read this when it was darker out. If a dog won't go inside an old house, that's all the convincing I need. Howard was dumb, but Annie was a lost cause.
Actually a review of Tony Walker's 'The Struwwelpeter' as I couldn't find that story.
A veteran hiking in the German moors takes shelter from a storm in an abandoned house. Enter the Struwwelpter who makes puppets of men. By turns terrifying and thought-provoking. Listen to the tale on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZyVh...
There are some really ghost story elements throughout the storyline. Unfortunately it fell far short of creeping me out which is what I was looking for. I really wanted it to but it didn't quite make it. If the story was expanded a bit I think it would be extremely creepy.
Very short story about a man and his family moving into an old house that is haunted. The dog and the maids at first are the ones freaking out. Then the spirit is revealed. It has to do with the wife's past. I guess I don't know what really scares me anymore. This book did not get under my skin at all.
I feel this is a book for teens. This book is good for a short story, Not really scary. It is up to the reader to decide whether they like it or not. Not really my style of book.
I loved it, however I wish it were a longer story. It was truly a scary story and it really kept my heart racing. I hope there are more from this author. great story!
