This was not one of my favs of the series. It started slow and stayed that way until about mid-way where it somewhat seemed to get interesting. Still liked it, nonetheless, just not as much as some of the others
This story begins with Alice and Annie starting on an exercise group. These ladies are always busy, feel they must get in shape, good exercises. The two are old, so thinks Annie. Alice must come also.
Then Seneca comes to Stony Point from Texas. Seneca had been a good friend to Annie when Wayne died. Now Seneca comes to Maine to get away. Seneca is an investigating journalist who writes about things that could get her in much trouble. She won't stay with Annie feeling she would pull Annie into her trouble. She stays at the Maplehurst Inn. Annie takes her around to the Hook and Needle Club to meet her friends. She gets Seneca to become interested in crocheting, takes her to church and lunch at the Cup and Saucer.
Alice flies to Florida, her mother is very sick.
After she is gone, things turn bad for Seneca and Annie. Someone is after the ladies, especially Seneca, the book gets exciting, thrilling, fast moving.
Annie and Ian become closer. Annie tells Ian how much she loves him.
There are wild things in this book. There is much about sewing, fabrics, working with different materials, needlework, cooking, food, just as in all the other Annie's Attic books.
Book # 27 in the Annie's Attic Mysteries has been read! I liked reading about Annie's friend, Seneca, from Texas. Annie makes friends of so many people - she has her grandmother's qualities, for sure. I did not care so much for the main topic of the book, though. The cover of the book was frightful with the snake on the top of the bed. Then there was another surprise in the book with another scary animal.
The story line with Annie and Ian is developing nicely.
This didn't add up to the other books I read in this series. The books I have read the mystery are based on objects found in Annie's attic. The first half of the book was all nicey nicey, before there is a mystery to get your hooks on. I like the characters, place descriptions, the new subject mystery was very interesting. I would read it again now that I know not to expect the norm.
The story starts a little slow but picks up speed. Annie's friend from Texas comes for a visit. But she is running from some very bad people that she was investigating for a story. Annie's friends in Stony Point rally around and help catch the bad people.
A really quirky little book. Great characters, quick read. A delightful little book. One of the Annie's attic mysteries. I will be reading more of them.
Nice weekend book read. Quick read. It was interesting to see what Annie is up to but with Alice out of the picture she doesn't get into too much trouble. Good book to take along to the beach.
