We were soldiers in a war that could never take place, and our focus had to stay there. After her parents die in a mysterious fire, Razz discovers that her sister had been the intended target. Now Razz must find a way to keep her sister safe in the Circle…but the Circle is no place for little sisters wanted dead by the Regent herself.
When the same mysterious magic that took her parents’ life follows on her sister’s trail, it becomes evident that the only hope of survival is accepting the help of Razz’s arrogantly attractive coworker to escape the Regent’s army.
But what if saving her sister means risking the lives of everyone else?

Thoughts: Other than wondering what happens now I really enjoyed this story. Some twists and turns with romance thrown in. The world was interesting and I look forward to reading more of this stand-alone series. There's magic and monsters and who knows what else.
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second book in the Othala Witch Collection series I've read and, seriously, this is a world that I love escaping from reality to. I think it's neat that all these Authors have decided to tell a story from each Sector. Different places around the world, in this post-apocalyptic world. There's romance that's set off by the sizzling chemistry between the two Main Characters. So much intrigue, you'll be spellbound. And even though this is only the second book of the series I've read, I've got to say I think I see a theme/message here. It became real clear in the end. This world, that these Authors have all written for, I believe, are showing us, the readers, how to make our world better. I get we don't live in a post-apocalyptic world but there are other ways for us to advance, I guess you could say, as a civilization, we can move forward and find different ways of doing things. THAT is what I got out of this book. So, the storyline is awesome. The characters are well developed and be prepared love-to-hate, hate-to-love with some of these characters. I'm going to have to read them all as far as the series goes. I just can't get enough of the spellbinding world, that gives the reader a sense of hope against all odds.
Came a farm girl - with magical powers and hope for life in the Center. To defend the sector from the ravangers out side the walls - when really the threat and danger comes from within.
Have to say this story had me spellbound from the start. Thoroughly enjoyed this one!
I loved this dystopian novel that is part of the Othala Witch Series. I have read others in this series and this was a perfect addition to the series. Hooking me right from the beginning due to the world building and characters, this fast pace novel was the perfect distraction.
I can't get enough of these books! Each sector is different in its own way. In Sector Five we're introduced to Razz, a farm girl, also a powerful witch, with dreams of moving to the Circle. Her dreams come to fruition when she gets a job working to keep the magical wards up within the sector. This is where she meets Hendrick. Everything is not as it seems or what she thought it would be. In a nail biting series of twists, turns and emotional rollercoaster rides, Razz is fighting for her life, her family and her friends...but there's so much more! This is yet another wonderful addition to the Othala Witch Collection...a must-read!! I recommend all of them so far! 5 stars!
I am a huge fan of the books i have read by Rebecca Hamilton & Conner Kressley, they are extremely talented authors! This book just makes me love their work even more!!!
I absolutely adored this storyline, it is so unique and i have honestly never read anything even close to this before! The way this book is written is so fresh and addictive making it a major page turner, you just crave for more! It is written in a way that although it is fiction you coud image it to be the world is in the future! It is extremely descriptive and the attention to detail is impeccable! It definately leaves yumcraving for more, especially the way it ends.
The charachters of this book are so well thought out and put together, as soon as i started reading about Razz, i loved her character, she is outspoken especially given where she has come from, she is a lot stronger than she thinks that she is, this is evident throughout the book with everything that she goes through she is still standing at the end and i think that is the biggest miracle of all! She has a huge heart and is so very protective of the people that she cares about, first ad foremost her sister Gemma who seems to be the complete opposite of Razz but deep down they are far more simiar than they realise. Then we come to Henrick who is quite a mystery throughout the book and i would love to know more about him and his past as he doesn't talk about it much, he has a will of iron and will do what he thinks is right, very protective and he cares about the things going on around him. There are other characters that i would love to mention but I definitely don't want to give anything away about this amazing storyline.
This is a must read for anyone and everyone, it is a brilliant story and i cant wait to find out more from this world!!!
This is the fifth book of the Othala Witch series which is a collaboration of some really incredible authors. Although these books are technically stand-alone, it is the journey of each sector freeing themselves from the oppressive rule of their existing regents. Personally, I would enjoy reading these closer together.
Razz Coleridge is the first in her family to leave the Dustlands to follow her dreams. Taking up a position in the Circle gave her a sense of belonging that she had been missing her whole life.
Henrick is the brooding superior officer with an axe to grind or so it would seem. He is intent on keeping Razz isolated from her co-workers.
With the death of her parents under rather unusual circumstances, Razz becomes her sister's legal guardian. From this point on, it becomes a race, first against an unknown foe that wants them dead then the Regent for reasons that aren't quite clear yet.
Henrick and Razz must work together if they have any chance of getting through this alive.
The dystopian genre is rather new to me but quite addictive, I find more emphasis goes into setting up the world and you can almost visualise it. For me, that was the most enjoyable part.
I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have to say this book was a complete surprise to me. I haven’t read any of the other books in the Othala Witch Series, so I had no idea what to expect as I’ve never been a big fan of dystopian plots. The heroine Razz is a farm girl who has powers to help keep the creatures outside the sector at bay. Henrick is her arrogant supervisor, and he seems to want to keep her from making friends with any of her co-workers. The Regent is the one who rules them all. When Razz’s parents die in a fire, her sister is left without anyone to care for her, and Razz takes her in which is when she realizes someone is out to kill her or her sister. They must then go on the run, and Henrick helps them to escape. At first, I wasn’t feeling the romance between the characters because I wasn’t really sure I liked Henrick, but the authors soon won me over. It was such a wonderful, sweet romance, I couldn’t help but fall in love myself. In addition, I was so intrigued by the whole set-up of the book and the world in which this book takes place, I will definitely be buying the others in the series. I highly recommend this book!
Thanks to the authors for the free e-book in exchange for an honest review. This same review will be posted on both Goodreads and Amazon.
The world is split into sectors with a certain type of magic in each, fighting the evil ravagers in order to protect the survivors at any cost. Though each story is different, they have certain aspects in common - isolation, magic, fight against evil creatures, and despotic tyrants ruling over the sector. Razz is considered an oddity - a witch born in Dustlands. She comes to the circle to work at the wall, helping to protect the sector. But after the death of her parents, she and her sister are captured by the regent, Brula. If she wants to regain her freedom, save her sister and make things right, the only suitable path for Razz is cooperation with Henrick - young and capable rebel getting on her nerves and attracting her at the same time. I loved each story I've read so far in this collection, and Under is no exception. With intriguing plot, fast pace and reat characters, this book is a real page turner, highly addictive and full of emotions and adventure. Razz is strong and determined to protect her sister, powerful and emotional. Henrick appears to be complicated and a bit mysterious, but no less powerful and determined to fight for justice. I could not put it aside until I finished, and I am looking forward to the next installment in the collection.
Under by Rebecca Hamilton and Kressley Conner forms part of the Othala Witch Series. Each book in the series focuses on a different sector of a new dystopian world. Under is Sector 7.
There have been previously published books in the series, but I have not read them yet. Undef, sector 7 is my first and can be read as a stand alone. Not having read the previous books did not hinder on my reading experience at all.
I really enjoyed this book. It had very strong male and female lead characters, which I love. It was a nicely paced, action, urban fantasy meets sci-fi meets dystopian story that kept me intrigued right until the end. All the characters are well developed and the story flowed well and was easy to get swept up in. I've already bought copies of the other available books in the series to continue with.
I was gifted a copy by the authors in exchange for an honest review.
This spectacular dystopian novel follows soldier Razz Coleridge as who takes up a position in the circle and find as herself in a race against time fighting against The Regent. The writing style is descriptive and superb. The character's are well developed and intriguing. The premise of the book is very interesting & will have you hooked right from the beginning. The world building is very descriptive. This fast paced novel is full of action packed adventure with sweet romance added in. I highly recommend reading this book as you will not be disappointed. I was given a free copy in exchange for a honest review.
A world controlled by one woman. And to continue her rule she needed one special girl. Razz grew up as a simple farm girl and then later gained the power of ice. She moved from her family to the Center. There she would help to protect all. But the Center is not what she thought it was. With the help of friends and her sister she will have to fight for her life.
The is a romance story with an evil witch for the villain. There is some violence and one mild sexual scene.
Under was a super action-packed read that had me flying through the pages as fast as possible. This is the second book in the Othala Witch Collection I've read and, I've gotta say, it's just as unique and original as the first. Razz was a strong and instantly likable heroine. Henrick had a very mysterious air about him that had me wanting to know more about him and what he was up to. I'm really loving this series and am very curious and eager to read the other books. If you're a fan of paranormal romance and/or dystopia, I highly recommend this book!
WOW ok now I can take a breath! What an awesome read. This is by far an amazing read the action and intrigue. OK I have to admit at first I wasn't feeling Henrick, I mean face it he wasn't the nicest person if you know what I mean. But through it all when the tough needed his help he was right there. When things are spinning out of control Gemma does what she must to save Henrick.
I can't say again how well this collaboration of great Authors just blew away this story. It is a worthy add to The Othala Witch Collection
A good fast-paced read about a dystopian society ruled by a witch. The heroine is a farm girl that always dreamed of being more until she's faced with her new reality of protecting the wall that surrounds her civilization. Among secret factions at play against an evil queen, Razz comes to terms with her parents murders and protecting her little sister while falling in love with one of the leaders of the rebellion. The suspense captures you until HEA of an ending leaves you wanting more.
Loved every minute of this book. This is the story of Razz and sector 5. This book is full of action and adventure. Many unexpected twists and turns. Hold on tight and enjoy the ride that is Under! I highly recommend it!
The Othala Witch Series has me totally hooked! I loved this story! A well written plot that kept me riveted from page to page. I loved the way Razz and Henrick sparked off one another, so sweet. Yes, this is definitely worth reading!
I really enjoyed this book. I found the characters likable if at times frustrating, but what I loved was the setting, the world these people live in is fascinating and I'm looking forward to reading more.
This was one of the better plotted and written books in the Othala collection. So far these have been hit or miss for me but this one was a good story for this collection. What I really liked about it was that society here is somewhat more advanced unlike the other sectors. They all seem to have de-evolved back to the middle ages. The pacing for the story was rather quick but I liked the twists and the reasoning behind the conflict in this book.
