"Ritz and glitz with a twist...A bit of mystery on a foundation of glamour and steamy sex."
With her glamorous good looks, high profile friends and jet set lifestyle, author Pat Booth no doubt imagined herself as a competitor or - at the very least - a counterpart to Jackie Collins. Too bad her books often come across as sloppy satires of the very novels she’s trying to imitate, er, emulate. Still there was some fun to be had in Booth’s expose of the celebrity sandbox. Even if it’s occasionally at the author’s expense.
This book is 30 years old so all the name dropping (which is constant) and ritzy design label mentions are very dated. I could ignore that if it had been worth reading, but it wasn't. Everyone of the characters was a jerk and there was no hint as to why Pat and Tony fell in love.... Incomprehensible.
