Taking risks, especially risks of the handsome male variety, is currently out of the question for Sydney Reid. She will make no exceptions for tall, gorgeous Derrick Porter. Never date a player--it’s rule number one in Sydney’s book, and the charming lawyer constantly devouring her with his eyes is every inch the reason. Despite her best efforts to keep Derrick in the friend zone, sparks fly between the two of them, and Sydney isn’t entirely sure she wants to throw water on the flames.
Can Derrick convince the shy, sexy Sydney to give him a chance, something more than her elusive “maybe”? More importantly, should he? Derrick has a few secrets, the least shocking secret being that he can transform at will into a powerful wolf. He's still trying to forgive himself for being at the wheel during the accident that killed his son. Losing Sydney when she learns the truth might break him, but he's pretty sure not having her would be just as bad.
And with an obsessed stalker on their tails, more than their hearts are at issue.
She saw him as a player, those mesmerizing eyes that seemed to look right through her, the charm that oozed from his very pores and that mystique he seemed to hold like a veil around his heart. Yep, Derrick Porter was the complete package-of everything Sydney Reid wanted nothing to do with. While her brain is chanting that mantra, her heart seems to have other ideas, because there was something special about Derrick and she is oh so very right.
Derrick noticed Sydney from the start, with his penetrating gaze, his cool lawyer demeanor, he is preparing his best case for dating him, but is that wise? She has no idea how he goes all furry and growly at will and his inner wolf is getting pretty angry with Derrick dancing around taking his mate. Being a wolf shifter isn’t Derrick’s deepest secret though, and he knows he isn’t ready to share his worst nightmare with Sydney. How can eh expect her to trust and believe in him as a lover and not just as a friend?
The sparks fly physically, but when hearts are involved, Sydney is not prepared to get burned by this alpha male, unless it happens while burning up the sheets with passion. How will she react to his inner wolf when it comes out to play? Not enough to deal with? There is a stalker on their “tails” and Sydney is far too human to survive an attack. Who is out to destroy them and why?
WOLF’S CHALLENGE by Christina Lynn Lambert is a fresh look at love, acceptance and self-forgiveness! There is no crazy over-reaction to Derrick’s furry side from Sydney which is VERY impressive! Clearly she did feel something, could it be because she already knows about at least one other shifter? Ms. Lambert has a great read here for paranormal readers who want the spice of romance that goes from simmering to 212 degrees and steams up the air in a very sexy way. Sydney’s character is strong, but she has been burned before and she isn’t about to bare her soul until she knows Derrick has no more secrets. Derrick is hot, but for an alpha attorney and an alpha wolf, he sure has been brought to all four knees in the name of true love!
No over angst-filled pages, no over-the-top emotional whining, this is a tale of two souls, each wanting to let go, but just a little afraid of how vulnerable it will make them.
I received this copy from Christina Lynn Lambert in exchange for my honest review.

Sydney finally has her life in order. To keep it in order, she has set some rules for herself: no dating ass holes, no dating coworkers, no dating players.
When she meets Derrick at her weekly running group, her first thought is "player" and he would be breaking one of her rules.
However, the two end up spending time together and Sydney realizes he is not what she thought he was.
Derrick is not without his secrets though, and he will do whatever he can to protect Sydney from finding them out and hating him.
An overall cute story that touches on the supernatural. I really liked Sydney and Derrick's story but there was a side character who kept popping up who just felt out of place. The story flowed well, but I felt the ending was a bit rushed and parts throughout were slightly predictable. 4 stars.
It was an interesting book especially since it had Sydney just getting out of a bad relationship. Derrick has also been through hell, but it was cute seeing them fall for each other. I love the fact that it’s set in Virginia. The main characters are Derrick who is a comic book fan and a lawyer who used to be in the army. He is also a wolf and it’s fun to see that the wolf can actually talk to him. Sydney is a graphic design artist so they made a cute couple. I can understand what she went through after going through it myself. I love the way the novel plays out. Also it’s awesome they call people regulars. I love reading about Sydney and Derrick, and loved the ending too. It’s a good story, and it shows that there is hope after a shitty relationship. Good story, and I love good endings too. This is definitely a steamy read. I loved some of the unique traits of her shifter wolf. Reading about how the romance between the main characters grows,, makes for great weekend entertainment. Can't wait for the next book to come out.
This is the first book by this author that I have read, and was very good. I loved following Derrick and Sydney's characters grow from their difficult past to learning to trust each other. I look forward to reading her next book

Wolf's Challenge is a story of a wolf shifter that has lost a lot and woman who is learning to take back her life again. It's a carefully crafted tale of loss and courage.
Derrick is a wolf shifter and successful lawyer, is coming back to the world after losing his son in a horrible car accident while he was driving. He has been going through the motions of life but not really engaging in it. He joins a running group that is coached by his friend and then paired together with Sydney.
Sydney is recovering from two emotionally damaging relationships. She is done with men for the moment. Sydney definitely decides she does not need anymore players. She decides that Derrick is a player so that definitely means that he is not for her. But thanks to her friend Jack that she would join his running group is going to put her decision to swear off men to the test.
These two are attracted to each other but Sydney can't see past her past to give Derrick a chance. He is persistent because for the first time since the accident he has found someone that he has feelings for. But there are other forces at work here and there is another person that is obsessed with Derrick that will do everything in her power to bring him down.
I enjoyed Wolf's Challenge and got wrapped up in their struggle to get past the things that were haunting both of them. They were both very insecure and had a hard time believing in each other. The only thing that I was surprised by was that I was expecting a different resolution between Derrick and the person who was obsessed with him, though there was a major answer that was answered and he could move on, I just felt that I wanted there to be more of a confrontation. But I loved the ending and to see the confidence that both Sydney and Derrick gain from each other.
