Martin Meadows is the pen name of an author who has dedicated his life to personal growth. He constantly reinvents himself by making drastic changes in his life. Over the years, he has: regularly fasted for over 40 hours, taught himself two foreign languages, lost over 30 pounds in 12 weeks, ran several businesses in various industries, took ice-cold showers and baths, lived on a small tropical island in a foreign country for several months, and wrote 400-page long novel's worth of short stories in one month.
Yet, self-torture is not his passion. Martin likes to test his boundaries to discover how far his comfort zone goes. His findings (based both on his personal experience and scientific studies) help him improve his life. If you're interested in pushing your limits and learning how to become the best version of yourself, you'll love Martin's works.
As a bit of an entrepreneur myself, I was very interested to hear what Martin Meadows has to offer me. While I have read/listened to many other books on the subject, I still felt that that he provided with greater clarity on what I want to achieve and how I should go about achieving without wrecking all other aspects of my life. After reading this book, I’m becoming quite a fan of the author and will check out his other works.
The beauty of this book is that it's not preaching what you should do; it advises you on how to approach life as an entrepreneur. There are lots of advice, but my take is this: NEVER compromise your health. A sick you will not run any business. Heck, there will be no business if you are sick. So, exercise, exercise, and exercise. Have a life outside your business, and have (strict) working hours. Such discipline will help you lead a balanced life.
While this book contained lots of common sense tools and advice and not much was particularly earth-shattering, I found the direct, straight-to-the-point, practical approach refreshing and helpful. It is well-suited for entrepreneurs at all levels and be beneficial to first-time readers and those who simply need a refresher.
Helpful to anyone starting a business but lacking the motivation/discipline to get going or stay active. Lots of actionable steps and clear, succinct writing.
#BookLover
