CLAY BRENTWOODRANCHER TURNED GUNMAN ON THE VENGEANCE TRAIL! IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL DAY. Tyrone Brewster walked out of the station; confident this was going to be an easy job. At five foot eight inches, average build, brown eyes, brown hair, brown suit and brown derby hat, with no scars or distinguishing marks, he looked just like any other drummer riding the train. Only, he was no drummer. He was a bringer of death, an assassin, and Hammershield had met his price. Mister Clay Brentwood, Texas Ranger, would be dead long before he reached Dallas.
Not enough room here. Suffice to say, besides being a writer for many years - Stringer for several newspapers, my own bi-line for articles in SAG and AFTRA mags., short story writer, screenwriter, and now two books, I'm also a blue water sailor, been a carnival barker, wrestled an ape on exhibition, rode the rails as a hobo for the experience, rodeo clown, storyteller, stand-up comic, MC, electrician, power lineman, owned several companies, circus clown, over 20 years as a prof. actor; Stage, Film and Television, along with some other stuff I can't think of right now. As my good friend, Jimmy Stewart once said, It really is a Wonderful Life.
Clay is back! If you remember from Unjust Punishment, Clay was sentenced to serve as a Texas Ranger for two years. His first assignment is to track down the ruthless outlaw, Aaron Hammershield. This story revolves around Clay's quest to bring Hammershield to justice. But as usual, Clay finds himself in situations out of his control; especially when he meets Loralie Benson, a sassy strong-willed redhead from Cinch Mountain, Kentucky who is on a mission of her own. A book that I found full of action and surprises. Jared's Clay Brentwood books are becoming one of my favorite series to read.
All you can say is you can't keep a "good man," and that how I feel about Clay Brentwood, Texas Ranger. The Rangers may have him over a barrel regarding the plea sentence two years as a Ranger or he goes to jail for killing the gang that murdered his pregnant wife. Like I said you can't keep him. He reminds of Jess Williams as he helps people keep their farms and his love for his horses Midnight and the Sorrel..a great adventure. Goodness gracious just trying to get home everything but the kitchen sink is thrown at him, but with perseverance he makes it back to his Texas ranch...hope he meets up with the young lady from the mountains of Kentucky💞💐
I am loving this series. Can't wait to get my hands on Book 4. A wonderful western filled with lots of entertainment and action. Clay Brentwood is a rough and tough but good hearted gentleman of the west. Being a woman, I wasn't sure if I would enjoy reading these, but the whole series is fun and very entertaining to read. Looking forward to the next. JudyE
Jared McVey writes a tale the grips you and holds you. There is thoughtfulness and good heart in his hero. I do shake my head at his placement of commas and misuse of Spanish but all can be forgiven when the tale is well told.
This is a great western. Clay is a true ranger, tough as nails, he's got money too and he don't mine sharing.
Whew ! Hammersmith was smart, new how to cover his trail.Thought Clay was never gonna catch that Hammersmith and his gang. Like action western.? Well, read this.
Thank you Jared McVay for a great read. I look forward to reading the next book on Clay Brentwood. There really needs to be more stars this far exceeds 5 stars for me.
