From USA Today bestselling author Terri Anne Browning, comes a new ROCKER series—Tainted Knights.
All it took was one look, one kiss.
The promises he made—I should have known better. He was a rock star and I had no time for a guy like him in my life.
I fell anyway.
I believed his promises. Held onto them and waited.
But the thing about rockers is that their private lives are never truly private. Seeing him on the cover of a national tabloid shouldn’t have surprised me.
Seeing him with two women all over him?
That nearly broke me.
Now the memory of that first magical kiss was TAINTED.
Terri Anne Browning is a USA TODAY bestselling author. Being dyslexic, she never thought a career in writing would be possible, yet she has been on bestselling lists multiple times since 2013. Reese: A Safe Haven Novella was her first Indie published book. The Rocker Who Holds Me changed the tables and kicked off The Rocker... series featuring the sinfully delicious members of Demon's Wings. The Rocker... Series is now complete with 12 books and the occasional novella. Other books by Terri Anne include the Angel's Halo MC Series, as well as The Lucy & Harris Novella Series, The Vitucci Mafiosos Series, and The Tainted Knights Rocker Series.
Terri Anne lives in Virginia with her husband, their three demons---err, children--and a hyper Frenchie named Grunt.
Not sure what to think about Tainted Kiss (Tainted Knights #1) by Terri Anne Browning. It was my first book by this author and somehow the book and me did not work well together.
I felt thrown right into something that already existed without getting information on the background? As this is the first book in that series I wonder if this is a spin off from some other series? Well if it is it surely is not a smooth standalone. There were so many characters thrown at you in a short amount of time and during every minute I felt that I should know stuff about them. It was like one of those insider jokes where everybody smiles and you don’t get it.
OK maybe that is exaggerated a little but I was not comfortable during reading and then as the story slowly enfolded itself I suddenly noticed that the actual plotline was very thin – like really thin and it felt like there was a lot happening over nothing.
Tainted Kiss was the first book in the Tainted Knights series by Terri Anne Browning. It was a spinoff from her Rocker and Lucy & Harris series. This series can be read as a stand-alone; however, I enjoyed it more having already read both series.
The Tainted Knights were an up and coming band and the storyline picked up near the end of Forever Lucy (book five, Lucy and Harris). They were about to begin their first tour when Kale, the drummer, met Santana, the photographer that the Tainted Knights agent (Emmie, book one The Rockers) had arranged for promotional pictures. The two had instant chemistry. Most of the book focused on the building relationship within the first two weeks they met. Browning also introduced each band member and their idiosyncrasies for setting the stage for the remainder of the series.
All in all, it was enjoyable and a great start to the series. There were a couple points around “the big conflict” that I would have liked fleshed out more; otherwise, it was a quick and light hearted read.

I can always count on loving Terri's work! I wasn't expecting Kale to be the sweetest guy that followed his heart from the first moment he found who he wanted. Santana was a pleasant surprise too. Both just fit together perfectly and the relationship was fast. For me, I enjoy sweet and low drama stories a lot and this one fit the bill. I'm excited to see what more is to come with the Tainted Knights!
As always Terri Ann Browning never disappoints. So excited for this new series and love how it ties in the rocker series so excited. I really love how she incorporates all her books together!!!
Good start to the Tainted Knights series. It's not as angst-filled as many rocker readers crave but it was sweet, sexy & had a great cast of characters.
Although Kale & Santana's relationship was insta-love (& I mean wicked fast insta-love), it still felt natural & was genuinely believable... and I adored that about them. They made for a perfect match. I can definitely see them, as well as Jace & Kin, serving as the voices of reason in future books in the series. Watch out Sin...
I was actually surprised that the relationship drama was pretty much limited to a single photograph. There were hardly any groupies, no scorned ex-lovers or crazy-a** psychos but I guess I shouldn't be saying anything... because they'll probably end up coming out in full-force in the rest of the guys' books! #eeek #knockonwood
Really liked how supportive the band members were of each other & how they're really like one giant, loud, happy (albeit stubborn at times) family. It got a bit crowded at times (with all of the roommates, step-siblings & friends horning in) but those supporting characters were vital for Kale & especially Santana, so I'm glad they were written into the story.
CANNOT WAIT to get my #grabbyhands on Gray & Kassa's story! I NEED that happily ever after STAT because I can taste Kassa's heartache already.
Another great journey of the Tainted Knights and the best part is that we still get the rest of the crew that has made Teri Anne Browning one of my favorite ROCKER AUTHORS!! I really only knew of Jace from Harris and Lucy's stories, but I am happy to say the rest of the Tainted Knights band is going to get great.
This installment centers around Kale {the drummer} and Santana {Emmie's photographer} and the chemistry is instant and intense. They only have a week before the band is set to leave for their tour and they take full advantage of the time they have to see what might form. The time apart is good and bad for both of them and then factor in one trashy photo that shows up in a gossip magazine and food poisoning and you have yourselves a real mess. Leave it to the rockers to come to the plate for the ones they love and make sure that what they found doesn't slip through the cracks!!
Let me just say that I can't wait to see "The Little Caterpillar" emerge in the next book of the series!!
I haven't read a Teri Anne Browning rock book in forever, so getting into this one brought back everything I like in her books. Kale and Santana have a love a first sight relationship, but I totally bought into it. There are many more stories to come based on all the supporting characters. Looking forward to reading more.
So aside from my continued annoyance with fucking, Emme, here's what really burns my biscuits about this story & the lead female, Santana.
So Santana works as a photographer that gets hired by the almighty, Emme Armstrong, to take photos of The Tainted Knights. Which is where she meets Kale, the super sweet drummer. I didn't really get the connection between the 2. It was like he saw her & bam, he claimed her. They had barely said much to eachother. And then all of a sudden, woosh, they're in this sweet, passionate love affair.
Here are my issues with this. Santana has a pathetic, insecure, weak excuse for a bff & roommate, Sage. This dumbass has a gross boyfriend who is mentally and emotionally abusive and aggressive towards her & Santana. But Santana continues to make excuses for this girl just because they've been friends since they were young and because she feels bad. That's not enough to stay friends with someone. Sage has no sense of loyalty or common sense to drop kick her boyfriend after he humiliates and talks down to Santana. Fast forward to Kale confronting that little shit bag which gets him fired from his job. Which then dominos into Sage kicking Santana out of their apartment because she chooses the boyfriend over her bff. Then she finds out that Kale confronted the scumbag and drama just keeps unfolding.
So let me get this straight... Santana thinks is excusable to deal with a shitty roommate & bff who allows the boyfriend to treat her terribly for years. Just deals with it. But Kale decides to do something about it and protect her and she flips out to the point that she doesn't wanna see him. Then they mend things and he goes on tour. Fast forward and a bad pic of him with some whores is printed in a rag mag and she just believes it and is thru with him. Even after her new friends tell her it's not always how it looks. And Kale doesn't even get the chance to tell her what really happened. She's just done. She feels hurt and betrayed.
So it's ok for the bff to not show any kind of loyalty or decency and she lets it go with some lame excuse. But Kale, who has been nothing but super sweet, genuine and down to earth, gets treated like a leper and the worst of the worst. SMH... Fucking stupid. Soooo much fucking drama.
And do I have to keep reiterating my thoughts on the whole Demons Wings camp? Emme being god-like. And how they're all a group who are super nice, super tight, beautiful and just fucking perfect! GAG!!!! It's hard to wanna continue when this dynamic continues. It's not appealing at all!

This book was absolutely amazing!! I just love the way Terri tells a story. She reels you in and your hooked. I couldn't put my kindle down. I took it to the bathroom, on my school bus, bowling alley just freaking everywhere with me today. I had to finish it!! Loved all the characters in this book. Some were old friends we've already met and some new. In this one it was all Santana and Kale the drummer for the Rock band Tainted Knights. And let me tell you if an actual spark could of been seen at first meet you would have. The magnetism and spark these two share was just awesome. They will have a few surprises a long the way, but I am not going to tell you the twists and turns so guess what READ the book. Thanks for another awesomely brilliant written book!! Thanks Jamie Nibarger Ellis
I liked it and read it, but it won't go on a favorite list.
Honestly I just didn't feel the connection between these two and didn't really care for either of them. My other problem was there were so many people!!! I have a hard time with names and we get a whole crew in this story- the band, their girlfriends, family, employees...it was almost over whelming in the beginning.
I do like Terri Anne's writing style though. The story flows and is easy to follow. There was nothing wrong with the writing, I just didn't connect with the story and characters.
From the first book to this one... I still love Terri Anne's writing. You can see how much she has grown as a writer too. I remember coming across the very first Rocker book. It had the original cover and only had a handful of reviews. I had loved Emmie from word go! Now, she's still creating characters I love. I also love the fact that she stays with the rocker books. So many authors go to so many different themes... which well, she does with her bikers and mafia men...but she always come back to the rockers! I also LOVE LOVE the fact that all of her books entertwine in some way! I LOVE THAT! Some how, some way all of her series come together. I wish more authors did that, I really do. I seem to end up sticking with the authors who do because of that. She has started a series with a whole new band Tainted Knights that include members...Jace (who we've met before in a previous book), Kale, Gray, Sin and Cash. This one is about Kale. He is a genuine character. He has a great personality and heart. He knows what he wants and goes for it...and that is Santana. Santana is a great girl. She has a strong female character who also knows herself and what she wants. She has her bumps and scrapes, but overall I really liked her. This is a quick romance. They fall for each other hard and quick. I do like that. That tends to be how it is for some people. They just know and since both of these characters are strong willed and sure footed, it fit them. I am excited to get the other guys' stories now! I cannot want for Sin or Cash. Those two appealed to me the most. She created some great new characters that I will be just as great as any of her others!
Although I am a big fan of this author there was just something about this book that just didn't do it for me. For one Kale and Santana just met on a photo shoot and they are both mesmerized by each other. When Kale is the last one left before they finish he asks her out. From there it turned into a teenage love story IMO. The way Kale started calling her doll for some reason just creeped me out. Then he was so obsessive with her from the get go. Took it upon himself to harass her roommates boyfriend. As for Santana she decides that she is moving out because she can't deal with her best friend and her boy friend and yet when her roommate tells her to find her own place she is bawling and carrying on. She was leaving anyway what's up with the drama? I get her telling her friend she is going to feel bad when she finds out what kind of person her man really is. So when Sage calls and wants to get together because she kicked her ex to the curb, Santana decides that she doesn't want her friendship anymore since she has herself some new friends. Santana's back and forth wishy washy ways just were so over the top. I didn't get why the person tried to break up Kale and Santana, wasn't sure what they hoped to gain from it. It made absolutely no sense considering how highly successful Emmie kept talking about how awesome of a job he did. For me this book was so all over the place.
Welcome to the new rocker series by Terri Anne Browning. If you are a fan of Demon's Wings or Other World welcome the new band. We meet this group in Catching Lucy but in that book it revolves around Jace's relationship with Harison. In this book we get the sory of Kale and Santana. Santana is the girl that Emmie is trusting to be her new photographer. However one look at Kale and she finds her brain is shutting down. Santana really needs to make a name for herself to be able to work the jobs she wants to not have to take everything that is brought to her. Santana has her own demons though that she wonders if they will keep her from love forever. Kale is just looking for a good time and ready to be the rock-star he has planned on always being. One look at Santana though and all that flies out the window. Where he use to be looking forward to the new tour and life on the road now all he thinks is this will take him from his girl. Can these two find a HEA or will their past and present demons make that impossible?
This is an amazing start to this series, and another super hit for this author. There is so much that I want to tell you about this book. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Santana is a photographer. She has done some photo shoots for Emmie. And Emmie speaks highly of her work so she has a good clientele from the high praise.
Kale is the drummer for Tainted Knights. He was not looking for love but when he saw Santana it was like a shot to the heart.
Kale was going on tour in about a week and had to get as much quality time in with Santana as possible. He had to know this girl. Santana had some abandonment issues from her past but trying to deal with them. But when her roommate/best friend/like a sister Sage betrays her trust and love Santana finds herself alone once again. But with the help of Kale and his bandmates and best buddies and all the wonderful new friends he brought to her life she works past the sadness and emotional trauma Sage caused her.
Now to get through a 9 week tour after meeting your soulmate who is staying behind. This will either make them stronger or break them apart.
Santana is great I love her passion for her job and her loyalty to Sage even though she does not deserve it. Kale is sweet and tries to take it slow but it also hot that he really does not want to. But he lets Santana tell him when to go faster. The two fall hard and fast. I loved the story.
This is a love at first sight Rocker story. A,photographer and a drummer meet at a photo shoot and within a week, (yep you saw that right? ) were in mad, possessive love. I have read the one book from a previous series that had Emmie as the lead. After reading how possessive she was to all the members of the band I didn't read anymore of that series.
I realized after writing this review that I had jumped to the last book in this series and read it a while ago. My complaint in that review was that there were all these characters thrown at you a once! Which is probably why I managed to get through this thinking some familiarity was because of Emmies book.
Some drama. Food poisoning that creates additional drama that was weird. Besides all of that the typical pap photo of groupies which was orchestrated by the show runner but we don't know why? Was it that Travis hated the photographer from early on? Was he connected to Wade the roomies boyfriend? It just went unexplained. I don't like when that happens in fiction.
I'm not sure if I will read anymore of the series.🙃
Terri Anne, what's your favorite cookie girl? Cuz ...
....Dees beesh owes you HUGE girlfriend!
Completely in line with her earlier rock star lineup; I can't WAIT for the next one. I read this book in a day and i'll probably read it all over again. Relatable characters, good plot, fast moving story, without being a bunch of weird smut without any storyline, Browning's books have plenty of angst without turning into teen melodrama.
The only issue I had with this book was the abrupt ending, but I figure these characters will be back in future books, so no harm done.
There's something about her books that draw you in and grab you tight. I wouldn't want my reads any other way. Thank you for the book hangover.
- The day they meet, Kale thinks of Santana as "his girl" - Kale calling Santana "doll" in every damn sentence. (He calls her Santana maybe three times in the whole book.) He even tells her he thinks of her as a beautiful doll. How is that not creepy? Coming from a guy you've known for like a day? - Kale's possessiveness - Santana being okay with Kale's possessiveness - Did I mention they've known each other for less than a week?
The whole book felt creepy. The only reason I finished it was because of sheer morbid curiosity as to how this train wreck ended. How anyone can consider any of this romantic in any way is beyond me.
I loved this story from the first word read to the last one, I was captivated and hated if I had to stop reading for any reason. Totally pulled into the story, watching it play out in my head. I loved everything about this story. There are some surprises within the book that I never saw coming. I got 1 part totally wrong and was shocked when I found out the answer. If you want to know you need to read the book. The emotions that the characters go through I could feel, I even shed some tears. I have never read a book by Terri Anne Browning that I have not enjoyed and this is another one. Bonus for me I have found it on audible so I will be listening to it aswell. I look forward to reading the second book in this series.
4 stars for Tainted Kiss by Terri Anne Browning. This is book 1 in the Tainted Knights Series. This is my first book from this author but I am looking forward to the rest of this series. Wow Kale and Santana were characters that fit each other perfectly. Kale is a gentle rocker who follows his heart. I was not expecting that. Normally the rockstars are these alpha jerk holes who change along the way, but not Kale. While, he is still Alpha he is also sweet and caring. Santana is a photographer who never falls for a client. She is strong and relied on only herself most of her life. These two only have a week before the tour starts, can they fall for each other quick. This was a sweet romance, with some steam. This is insta love at its finest. Can’t wait to read more of this series.
I Liked this one , I`m only giving it 3 stars cause I do not like when I have to remember all the names of friends , band mates, manger`s - who they are who`s what`s girlfriend ------ Wade, Sage, Emmie, Kassa, Gray , Jace, Kin, Sin, Cash, Travis, Angie, Jenna, Caleb, Lucy, Harris. To many And the name Doll was Kale nick name for Santana was not sexy or sweet at all... ( At least to me) I do like this author and did read all the books of the band ( Demon`s wings ) But this band ( Tainted knights) . Maybe if I get another one free I would read. That's how I got this one..
This book to me wasnt really about Rockstars it was about a group of friends and the strong bond they have an the willingness to care about another person not in the group. When Kale and Santana meet it was an instant attraction. Kale had know idea how much Santana really needed him AND his group of friends. I really dont think she did either. It's a really sweet love story. I cant wait for Caterpillar to get a certain someone to realize how much she loves him. Bring on the next book.😁
I didn’t love this. For a start I think him calling her his “little doll” was demeaning, sexist and patronising. It really pissed me off. I mean, seriously, what woman wants to be referred to as a “little doll”?! Ugh, nope.
The story was pretty unrealistic - how many 22 year old up and coming rock stars fall in love with a woman in a week and devote themselves to her from that point forward despite being separated for 9 weeks straight away? And the behaviour of the men in the band towards the women was not alpha and sexy, but sexist and belittling.
I read and loved all the rocker series. I am thrilled there is still more to come. Terri-Anne's characters drag you in to their lives making you fall a little bit in love with them yourself, this leaves you eagerly awaiting what comes next from this extremely talented writer. Personally I am never disappointed by anything Terri-Anne writes and can't wait to see what happens next in this new series.
This is the first in this series. But it seems to have connecting characters from another series. I enjoyed this one that I will go and get the other series and read them also. This is Kale the drummer the Tainted Knights an up and coming band that is going on its first real road trip. And Santana who was commissioned to take their photos for the merchandise sales. How they meet to his others try to tear them apart. I can't wait to read the next book.
I was looking for a good Rocker series to read and don't know why I hadn't read this one. I loved Terri's first Rocker series and read every book (some of the characters appeared in this series). This story was good, not a lot of angst but just a great storyline, solid characters and easy reading. Looking forward to the other stories about the guys in Tainted Knight's.
