Oz was another really good installment in this series. I must admit the stories are definitely getting better. I loved Oz and Maria together although they start out as enemies they quickly turn it something more. These stories are short so everything does happen rather quickly but its not interfering with my enjoyment. On to book 6.
I never expected to read the beautifully intense story that unfolded before me. Each step of the journey was wrought with one revelation after another that twisted my heart and shredded my very soul. Both Maria and Oz unknowingly built the foundation of a new life that tore open the secrets of their hearts to be seen, dealt with, and turned into reason for so much more between them. Facing their greatest nightmares and coming out stronger and scarred spurred them to confront their deepest desires and understand that they were all for the taking. They just needed to reach out and grab them one by one before it was too late.
All of this never took away from the intensity and wonder of the greater story at hand that is weaved tightly into each individual couple's harrowing journey in finding each other. This author never wavers in her wonderfully complex plot, and I love how she is able to use each story to delve deeper into this fantastically refreshing story of desperate survival and devastating betrayal of both human and alien. I am so anxious to see what happens next!
Johnny Mack made this story come to live in a way that made my heart soar. He is a phenomenal narrator that knows how to bring justice and full live to a character without losing a beat in the greater landscape of the story. I have enjoyed every story that he has read in this series, and I can't wait to continue to enjoy the next stories to come.
This is our Charming Oz’s book. Oz is the Bracadytes human contact, that has Bracadyte blood too and always trades them for supplies. He’s their get it guy and family too. Oz and the Bracadytes were under attack again in the last book, this time from the cartel. The one that Oz had killed the leader of, for retribution for killing his mom. The son is running the cartel now and has it out for Oz. Oz catches Maria and some of his men in the explosion that hurt Amy, Zaureth’s mate. When Oz finds out that Maria is the cartels sister...he keeps her. The other captives did not fair as well, since they pissed off Zaureth. The Bracadytes are still battling unseen forces trying to destroy them from the inside out. So much always happens in these books, which is what makes them so addicting. Always a traitor or traitors in the midst and you never know who you can trust.
This was a great storyline, as always. They are finally figuring out a vaccine for the Incola virus the CDC created, that’s great news. A safe read. No om or ow drama, Oz has a past, but it’s not mentioned much and clearly he’s all about his mate. There maybe a trigger for some, Maria does get caught, beaten, but they save her before anything more can happen...twice. This could be a trigger for some, so I wanted to put it out there. So glad the Bracadytes can communicate telepathically, seriously...it saves lives all the time. These two had some serious heat, there was an epilogue and an hea.
Maria Acosta is the sister of Oz's enemy and the daughter of the man he killed. When Maria is found trying to plant a bomb on the yacht that Zaureth and Amy are using as an escape route, Oz kidnaps Maria in hopes of luring her brother Carlito out of hiding. What Oz didn't think that he would be attracted to Maria and all his protective instincts would come to the surface.
Maria hasn't had an easy life. Wanting nothing more than the love of a father she gets nothing. A brother that wants to whore her out to his men, but she is a fighter and she sees an opportunity to right what her brother is doing but she gets caught and is misunderstood.
Maria is a strong woman who has been living in fear of her life. When she comes face to face with Oz, the man who murdered her father she and Oz learn things about each other that changes the dynamics of their relationship. Unable to deny the chemistry between them they give in and it's explosive.
Non stop action from the first page to the last. Ditter Kellan is a master at paranormal romance and this series is a must read.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts and opinions on it .Oz is an amazing read fast paced with lots of action, suspense , and emotion it grabs and pulls you into it not letting go until you have read those last words. Oz has had a tough life he lost his mother at an early age and growing up in the cartel but he has survived . Maria wants justice for her fathers death but when her brother endangers innocent lives she tries to stop it unfortunately shes mistaken for being the one who caused the explosion her brothers men set off .Oz and Maria are at odds from the beginning but neither is quite what the other believes .This is truly and epic story of enemies to lovers and the road to this happily ever after is a wild one so when you set down to read it turn off your phone, grab the snacks, and get ready cause you will be glued to this one. I can sum this book up in one word WOW !!!!.Cant wait to read the next story in this series I am loving each and every story more than the last one .
Oz: Half man-half Bracadyte, Oz takes on the Cuban Cartel only to get far more than he bargained for. Raised by the Cuban cartel, Nicho “Oz” Ozele learned early on that it was far better to be feared than loved. Now he’ll use everything in his formidable arsenal to stay alive. Even if it means abducting the incredibly enticing sister of his most hated enemy. Wanted by the mob and running from the deadly Incola virus, Oz turns to the only family he has left—the Bracadytes.Taken hostage by her father's killer, Maria wants nothing more than to see Oz dead for his crimes against her family. With all she has, she fights Oz at every turn. Until one night on the open water, he risks his life to save hers, forcing Maria to choose between the need for revenge and her heart’s strongest desire. The focus is on the romance between the prisoner and the alien creature. Ditter humanized the storyline for the benefits of the romance. Saying he’s an alien creature living in unfamiliar territory doesn’t make a sci-fi story especially with limited scientific planet words. I’m not feeling the scientific planetary experience. It still reads like a typical romance with the alien trope element.
This book is no longer available. The Journey Continues includes book 4 Zaureth, book 5 Oz and book 6 Gryke of the Enigma sci-fi series. I received this audiobook as a gift from Ditter Kellen before she pulled the series from Amazon. Enigma is a 12 book series. Apparently I’m not a fan of Sci-fi romance because these books didn’t hit there mark. I couldn’t take the dialogue seriously. I had a good laugh. These books are character driven.
Narrator: Johnny Mack is the solo male performer. He’s a professional voice over talent. I listened at 1.9x speed using the audible app. I wasn’t impressed with the female voice of Amy by a man. When Johnny was reading in the third person he sounded great. When he performed the voices of Zaureth and Amy I didn’t like the way he portrayed there voice.
First off, this cover!! Every single book in this series has a huge case of man meat on the front cover. As for the story, this is one of my favorites. Abbie will always be my number one because well, it is kind of like losing your virginity. You always remember your first! This series has always been such a breath of fresh air to me. The whole premise was different. I enjoyed reading Oz and Maria's story because Ms. Kellen ties them in so well with the stories that came before them. Watching how their love ignites like wildfire will catch you in your feels, and not necessarily just the ones in your heart, if you know what I mean. I would recommend checking out this series definitely.
My sixth read/listen from author Ditter Kellen. After reading the sixth book in this series I went back to start at the beginning of the series and read Enigma, then Naura, book 2 in the series then Vaulcron, book 3, Zaureth, book 4 and now Oz, book 5. With each book Kellen writes the story-line gets more enticing drawing the reader deeper & deeper. Narrator Johnny Mack has become the voice of the aliens and his talented narration adds greatly to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Well-written romantic sci-fic/suspense, with well-developed characters. Now on to Braum! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018). (less)
Storyline, I definitely give a 5 star rating. Action as well. The "bedroom" scenes were not my cup of tea on this one. Kinda weirded me out....just a little. When you read it you will understand what I mean, or Maybe not. It's just my opinion. But they were not important to the overall story, so I still loved Oz & Maria's adventure to love. There was a LOT of action in this book and I enjoyed that immensely!!!! Dang Oz can be vicious when he's mad...lmbo. I definitely recommend :D
The 5th instalment from Ditter Kellen's Enigma series is just as magical and well written and her previous. I absolutely adore this series and I don't understand how I didn't come across it before. Oz and Maria have more than chemistry, they have a history. As their paths collide and they have to learn to trust each other and trust their own feelings you can see its only a matter of time before their passion explodes. As usual l loved seeing the more well known characters and learning more about new characters too. Grab this book today, it wont disappoint.
Oz has been a bit of a mystery from the start of this series and now we finally get to know him. I loved the dynamic relationship between him and Maria. They are both strong willed and living dangerous lives, so that makes them an exciting couple. From enemies to lovers while trying to stay alive, this couple has an adventure that keeps you turning the pages. This series has me hooked and I can't wait to read the next book!
Oz and Maria and pretty much perfect for each other. They are both stubborn and yet they both have a soft side that they bring out within each other. Maria getting sick and Oz not knowing what to do was what made me love Oz even more because it showed just how much he truly does love her.
WOW...add to the already exciting plot and sexy Bracadytes...Oz, the half human/half Bracadyte, along with the extremely dangerous cartel family, a need for revenge and the kidnapping of 'the family's' heartbroken and revengeful daughter AND you get non-stop action as well as lots of tension, danger and sexiness!
I have listened to all of the books in the Enigma series. We knew who Oz however we only got bits and pieces of who he is and where he came from. what made him into who he is today? When we ended up leaving Oz in Zaureth he was trying to capture the mob boss by taking his sister Maria, the heroine.
In this book Oz explains to Maria why he ended up killing her father. We get to see two dynamics in this book. One is with Maria and her brother. She tries so hard to want a relationship with her father and her brother that she ends up subjecting herself to emotional abuse. Oz on the other hand does not try to get love from anybody and yet everybody around him ends up loving and respecting him.
This book has a lot of drama and conflict between the heroine and the hero versus everyone else. I did like this book however I have to admit that it is not as good as Zaureth. There is something off about him Oz that I did not like and that also goes for Maria. It is a good book within the series but it is not a book that I will see myself listening to repeatedly.
Oz (Enigma #5) was a good read by Ditter Kellan. Nicho "Oz" was raised by the Cuban Cartel although he is a Bracadyte. He has kidnapped Maria, the sister of his enemy, as a way to stay alive. Oz has to turn to the Bracadytes due to being wanted by the mob while running from the Incola Virus. This was an other great read by Ditter Kellan. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Spoiler Alert for violence content *************** The Heroine is sexually abused more than once, she is not raped but the scenes are detailed and disgusting.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I ADORE DITTER KELLEN !!!!! That being said, I was beyond excited to read about the "Human" that the Royal family of BRACADYTES was so fond of . OZ did not disappoint ! Ditter Kellen weaves a story so brilliantly that I have come to think of it as a Real place ( that i would love to go see ) , there are many things on this planet that we do not understand and folklore that we believe to be fantasy ..... but what if it isn't ? What if , some of those stories are , indeed .... real ? I think that this series of books is meant for entertainment, certainly, but it also begs the question......What if ?? This whole series leaves me only wanting more ,please , and thank you. The main character OZ, finds himself very involved in the war between the Bracadytes and the Humans, and his fierce side is shoved to the forefront of this book that highlights his point of view , and how he relates to his family and friends fighting for their very lives in a turbulent world in which they now find themselves . And how one thing looks one way , but is in reality another way entirely . I love this series of DITTER KELLEN'S and have read almost ALL of her works, and will continue to do so , as long as she keeps writting !!!
The Incola virus is still thriving in full force. Its running wild through the world killing the humans off like wild flies.
The Bracadytes are trying to be at peace with the humans and help them to find a cure but can they be trusted ?
Maria, Oz and the cartel are hell bent on getting revenge. The truth is brought forth and many past discoveries are made. Demons surface, blood is shed and lives are taken.
There's destruction, havoc and lots of action and suspense. On the edge of your seat moments , and times where you will be holding your breathe and thinking WHOLLY MOLLY !
We see another love grow with the Bracadytes, an unlikely couple. But as their circumstances change so does many things. Including there feelings. I didn't find this couple as lovey dovey as the rest but I do enjoy the lovin scenes that the author delivers.
We see Gryke all bold and beautiful and dangerous haha I love his character ! He is gruff and grumpy but deep down I know something sweet is inside .. Melvin is lurking in the background ! As a reader I am adding up how many more of these a grade men Ditter Kellen will give us :D
A few discoveries are made as far as a answer to the virus and I found this moved along a lot faster in this installment. The story line I found more fast paced. I think it may have been the action involved within the pages, the build up, the suspense.
Looking forward to Grykes installment next !! I am sure we are in for a treat with this grump !
As always this author delivers vivid imagery and down right powerful , burly male characters ! The story progresses from each book to the next with the plot keeping the reader engaged, intrigued and invested in all the characters as the plot unfolds.
OMGosh, what to say about OZ. I'd follow the "yellow brick road" to him any day. Oz is a mystery, Close to the Bracadytes with their blood running through his veins. But who is he really?
Maria is the Sister of the Current head of the Cuban Drug Cartel and therefore Oz's sworn enemy. Maria's father, is responsible for the death of Oz's mom. A death he witnessed right before his very young eyes as a child. Conversely, Maria believes that OZ is responsible for the cold blooded murder of her father.
When the Cartel attacks the Hotel/home where the Bracadytes are currently residing, Maria is captured. Oz keep her as his hostage thinking to use her for bait to capture her brother. Maria and Oz fight there growing attraction; it can't happen they are sworn enemies.
As Marie is constantly put into danger by her brother and the Cartel, both Oz and Maria start to wonder if their hate toward each other is really justified or if they actually have a common enemy in her brother?
They flee to Aukrabah (the Bracadytes underwater world). Upon their arrival, Maria becomes ill. The Incola virus has become airborne. Oz realizes if he loses Maria to the virus that he loses his very soul/heart. Will they be able to have a future? Will Maria Survive?
I continue to fall in love with each and every Bracadyte. So many different facades. Each one has a character of their own (Strong and silent or Strong and affectionate) with the common themes of passion, loyalty and strength.
I hope EVERYONE takes the opportunity to read this series. You won't regret it.
Ditter is one of my favorite authors right now with her “Enigma Series” these books are full of aliens that have lived under and within the human community for years. Some have raised children with humans making them half-bloods. The books deal with a race call the “Bracadytes” they live under the water and keep away from human as part of the law unless they are engage in trade with a select few.
In this story you will learn more about Oz a man who is the result of a human and Bracadyte mating. He has issues that need to be resolved but will he do so that he may live a fuller life?
Amy is an interesting party in this story as she also has issues (a big brother that hates her and rose colored glass about her father)from her past that will need to reconciled with the truth will she be strong enough to handle it?
Misunderstandings abound between these two strong willed people. Can they straighten out the past to make peace for a future? Time will tell.
Oz and Maria 's story was of the charts exciting. Being chased by Maria 's crazy brother and drug cartel not to mention the whole government. I am so looking forward to the next book in this amazing series.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. What happens when the enemy stops being the enemy. Oz finds himself in this situation with the woman he plans on using to get his revenge for his mother's death, and she hates him for killing her father. They find themselves both being hunted by her brother. If that wasn't bad enough the virus has arrived in Cuba. The characters are interesting and well written. This action packed novel is at time intense and will keep you listening long after you should have turned it off. Looking forward to the next book.
I loved Oz's story. The characters were very well developed. I really loved the emotions Oz fought with and developed as the story went on and the chemistry between Maria and Oz is outstanding! We also get a better glimpse into Gryke and Fiona's tolerance of each other. I can't wait to read it!
The story line for this series is definitely unique as is the Bracadytes that star in each book. Ditter Kellen has not only thought outside the box but has taken it to another level and thrown the damn thing away.
Omg Ditter Oz man is a hottie, damn girl can these hot Bracadytes get any better..... These books are fabulous full of hot characters it really gets the blood pumping .... If we thought oz kidnapping Maria was bad enough it's all over when they fall for each other , can she forgive him for killing her father, Will she believe his story of his mothers death? This book and all, the others in the Enigma series are an absolute must Thanks Ditter X
Another fabulous installment filled with hotness, twists and turns and intrigue. And my goodness, that ending! I cannot wait to read the next book. Binge reading this series has been amazing. I would recommend to any fans of paranormal/alien / romance readers. Loved loved loved
