A good basic introduction to options training. I would have liked more time and pages devoted to strategies, such as using moving averages in conjunction with volatility and calculating the percent chance of a winning trade.
It's okay. It's not a bad book but I think there are better introductions out there, especially including articles online, video series, and education available through your brokerage. There are some errors in the book which could trip up a person who is just starting out, so be sure not to take every word as gospel. I did appreciate how the author didn't simply dive into the topic but gave a bit of financial background and logic to why people use options. She also has a few sections not directly related to options such as technical analysis, investor psychology, and even taxes. None of these sections are by any means complete, they are merely the tip of the iceberg but I think are great to whet a new investor's appetite for more and to call their attention to topics and factors outside of the price of a stock.
It gave me an introduction to various terms and strategies, but didn't really teach me why I'd use those strategies. I would have liked a bit more of a how-to guide and a bit less of a description of stuff. I can't use this book to get my start in options trading... well I'm pretty sure I can do a covered call now, but nothing else. Not recommended for getting into options.
