SINNERS TAKE ALL is the first book in the exciting, new Quest for the Shroud series by K.R. Richards. Scholars are being murdered, and the only thing that the victims have in common is their search for a shroud brought to Scotland by Templars fleeing persecution in the fourteenth century. Francis Nightshade and Lucien Saintmaur, Lord Wyldhurst, are Department and Avalon Society members assigned to the investigation. Their mission is to travel to Scotland, hunt down the villains responsible for the murders, find the shroud, and keep it safe. Due to the dark sins of his past, Nightshade never planned to marry. Meeting Miss Violet Frost changes everything. Shunned by society, the two loners and misfits strike up a friendship. Will Nightshade’s feelings about Violet change his mind about marriage or will he leave her behind to marry another? Luc is perfectly happy living the life of an unrepentant rake – until he meets odd and prickly Hazel Graham in Scotland. Something about shy and fearful Hazel tugs at his heartstrings. Because of her past, Hazel is certain she can never marry. Can Luc help Hazel overcome her fears and take a chance on love?
K. R. Richards likes to garden, loves history and metaphysical studies, and is a serious collector of crystals, minerals and gemstones. She researches 16th-19th Century art and furniture, for items that come through the Antique shop where she works part-time.
She is the author of the Lords of Avalon series, a historical romance series with a hint of the paranormal, and Decker’s Fate, Liam's Spell, Sinners Take All, and Secrets, Lies & Sins.
She is currently working on Brody's Charm, the final book in the Decker Brothers Trilogy.
K. R. currently lives in Mississippi, though she calls Arizona home. She has two amazing sons, a beautiful daughter-in-law, and two wonderful grandchildren. She recently adopted a Border Collie mix after all three of her geriatric pets passed away. She's getting much more exercise these days!
Another amazing story following the quest to find the shroud of Jesus. Love finds Mr Nightshade in the shape of beautiful Violet whose grandfather wants to marry her off to the highest bidder without a thought for Violet. Luc also finds love when he rescues Hazel from her worst nightmare, her past coming back to haunt her. Fabulous heroes find strong, brave ladies.
This is book 1 in a new series and is set in the same world as the Lords of Avalon series, whilst some of those characters make an appearance in this book, some more new characters are introduced. There is romance and mystery and a bit of paranormal stuff happening. It does conclude with HEA for 2 couples, a strong hint of who is up next in the romance department. The overall arc of the greater mystery is slowly revealed, but will continue in the next books. A nice read. 3 stars
I have loved every one of Ms Richards stories and now she is telling them better than ever! some old friends from the Avalon series join new friends in the search for the shroud of Christ. Danger and tension fill the pages and kept me reading every chance I had.
Once again it a jackpot win. I loved this book as well as all the others. Trouble is, I can never pinpoint one part as my favorite. For the whole book is my favorite. I love the characters, the devotion, friendship, loyalty, and the ease of reading these books.
The series begins another quest of the Lords of Avalon. Adding new characters and reacquaintances us with the men we have grown to love. Fin and Jamie make a great addition to the storyline and plot. The author is slowly pulling back the covers of the level of Stephen deceit and betrayal of his former department and the men who trusted him as their leader. Each chapter reveals another hidden secrets and shows the level of the former leader quest to destroy the men he lead. This is a great read I cant wait for the next book.
The story had too many plots going on at the same time. There were several romances going on which lead to way too many sex scenes. It became redundant and tedious to read. I started just flipping through it about midway through. It also ends in a cliff hanger...which is quite annoying. It did not hold my interest enough to even read the next installment.
