*Warning spoiler alert.
Wonderful book all around. Entertaining and had me hooked from page one. A couple small things.
One was a comment that his wings took hours to dry and that surprised me because water usually sluices off of our feathered friends. That is where the saying "water off a duck's back" comes from. I would have needed more explanation for that to be more believable.
Secondly I really was disappointed that the way they were able to stay together was for her to command him to do so "forever". There just are not those kind of guarantees in life. To be given those guarantees, steals the magic quality of feeling loved. It is in taking a risk that we find joy in discovering twenty or thirty years later that they still love us.
I have been married for 30 years last year and one of the aspects that gives me great pleasure in life is that we have managed to keep that spark alive all this time. He still looks at me like I am the best thing in his life after all this time. Somehow this feeling of love I have for him and all the years we have loved together would be ruined by the fact that I had compelled any part of it. In the book he indicates that he is bound to her forever and that he is happy about it.
My argument is that he does not know how he will feel about it later. He may come to resent her down the line because of what she has done and neither of them will be able to get out of it because she has bound them "forever". Evan as an angel he has proven he has the ability to lose interest as he did in his job.
My joy in my relationship is that thirty years ago my husband told me I was the besting thing in his life and there would never be another. He did not have an affair, he did not become engrossed by other things over time, he did not let our differing views divide us.... but he could have. He could have left for a younger, more beautiful woman. He could have become engrossed with other hobbies, friends, or work when the newness of us wore off and he certainly could have said he wanted to search for his happiness instead of those long hours of trying to negotiate some compromise in our lives. He didn't just choose me when I was young and beautiful. He chose me every single day. He still holds my hand. He still smiles when I make him laugh. He still feels lucky when he gets lucky. So I feel like the heroine was robbed of that in compelling her special mate.
Just my humble opinion and that is the only reason this book did not net 5 stars.

Felicity Heaton weaves a really entertaining,emotional story which pulls you in from start to finish. Loved it.

My best author ever luv her books have them all on kobo I have now in book form started 4 days ago an I'm on the last chapter in book 2....can't express how I really luv it an the author enough. Read it read it now

Awesome series. Lots of passion, fear, defeat, and conquer. Book 6 was my favorite yet there was a slow moment in the middle that made me put the book done. Just needed a break I guess. Overall the relationships were lustful and wanting. Connecting relationships throughout every book. Loved it!!!
