For me, La Dolce Vita is a good example of why I enjoy this series. There are lots of moving parts that kept me engaged in what was happening. Seeing subplots flow together even after they seem to veer from the main story was really nice. Mynx has started to take some of the looser threads of the story line that seemed extraneous at first and has begun to pull and tighten them so that we are starting to see the bigger picture. There are occurrences in La Dolce Vita that seem as if they were going one way and Mynx throws a 'not so fast' that moves the story in a new direction. Giovanni has a long game that he's not shared with anyone. He's doling out information on a need to know basis which makes it much more exciting to read. As a reader I love when I think I know how things are about to play out and end up being a little wrong.

In La Dolce Vita Mynx delivers on her promise that this will be the transition book that will set the series on the fast track to it's conclusion. It seems as though everyone and everything is coming undone. Giovanni and Mirabella face their pasts, struggle to find a way to accept their contentious problems that plague their lives, all while trying to plan for a future that keeps their entire family safe and intact. Lorenzo and Marietta are scrambling to keep their shared secret from seeing the light of day. Marietta is trying to manipulate everyone, including her own sister in order to protect Lorenzo. Lorenzo's guilt and determination to make things right is causing him to act with increasing desperation and recklessness. Domi and Catalina come to a crossroads in their relationship that may have no way back. Carlo is facing his own weakness that he didn't realize he had before his trip to America and the fall out with Shae. Carlo is also forced to make a difficult choice when it comes to where his loyalties lie. There are no wasted characters in the Battaglia series. Mynx uses all of her secondary characters really well and they all play into the bigger picture.

There is so much that needs to be resolved in the upcoming books and I am very much looking forward to experiencing the final loops on this roller coaster of a series. Things ended dramatically in La Dolce Vita which left me ready for the next installment. There's a promise made at the end that I am going to glory in seeing fulfilled. So if I enjoyed this so much, why not a five star rating? There are enough grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure problems that they are noticeable and were sometimes disruptive to the flow of reading.

I loved this book in its entirety. I really can't fault it and so many things happened that I can't even list them all. I wonder if Mira and Gio will ever overcome this? And Domi and Catalina? I really don't trust Armando but I hope he proves me wrong. I have a inkling that Catalina has gone to Armando. My feelings towards Gio have changed. I'm not sure how I feel about him anymore.

Now for something a bit more in depth. There are spoilers here.

Gio: I don't get him at all. He killed off entire clan families for the death of Mira without proper investigation. Now everything from him murdering families to Kei he blames Lorenzo for? He blames Lorenzo for him being a monster. I feel like he kinda always was. He killed Cutter because he had a kid with his wife once upon a time. He starts war with Armando who saved his wife's life. What did Armando really do? Why did Gio think it was a good idea?

Mirabella: I am sorry, I know she is a favourite along with Gio but I hate her. She's annoying and weak when it comes to Giovanni. Mira is struggling with the after effects of Kei and I understand this. I just don't get her mentality which she has had since the first book. She refuses to see Gio for what he is. He is JUST like her other exes. She complains that they were controlling and possessive. Well Gio is the same. Maybe worst? What would he do if she wanted to leave him? Exactly.
I couldn't believe how she forgave him so quickly after witnessing him abusing Catalina. I couldn't even stomach the make up sex scene. I skipped it. I don't care if he was drunk. She is blind to his misdeeds. She is with a dangerous man and has put her kids and so many others in dangerous positions for Gio. I don't get how she sees other clans or the mafia as bad people when her husband is the same as them. At least Marietta is real and accepts what the deal is. It's outrageous how Armando is her enemy now. He saved her life and she should be grateful and remember that but she casts him aside because her husband instigated trouble with him. I was also very surprised by her lack of concern when she found out her husband killed Cutter. Even if Cutter treated her badly and she hates him for it. At the very least she should be worried about her husband's irrationality.

Catalina: Oh, Catalina. Princess status has vanished for you. She did her best to help in a stupid way but she failed. She acted like a spoilt brat when things were unravelling within the family and she was only concerned with herself. I feel sorry for the way Gio treated her. She is angry and bitter now and I feel like her missing status means that she has gone to Armando. In many instances in this series. You see that she thirsts for power and being the centre of attention. In one book she even confessed to Domi what her dream was. To be a Donna and Domi be a don of a clan. He laughed it off of course. All of these little clues lead me to believe that she is very tempted by Armando who is not just a don of some clan but the don of THE Mafia.

Armando: I don't really see him as a bad guy. He has his reservations about his sisters but this book revealed through narration that he does care for them. Gio has always tested him and Gio hates him over some petty childhood love triangle. I am not surprised by his dislike for Gio. Especially since he has started a war with him. Armando loves Catalina and I don't think he cared about the tapes. He just wanted to find an excuse to be near her so he used them as leverage. You can't really blame him for the Catalina thing because she evidently wants him too.

Lorenzo and Marietta: Their time is up. I don't see how they can be on good terms with Mira and Gio now. I just don't see that happening. I feel like Lorenzo will do something stupid and piss Armando off. And they'll have a whole world of new problems. Especially because Lorenzo is scheming for Armando's throne. I don't know if he still wants to be a Don.

Domi: I feel sorry for him. I really do. Losing Catalina had to hurt. I truly feel like he's done with her. After she went on a tantrum and made all the family issues about her. He saw who she truly was for the first time. She is spoilt, likes to be worshipped and selfish. Domi is content, humble and selfless. They are polar opposites. I don't know how he fell in love with her. I wonder how life will be for him now. He lost the love of his life and the family he is so dedicated to is broken.

The only issue I have is how the author emphasised how bad the drug trade is in comparison to the gun trafficking business. I mean, is there really any difference? Both cause immeasurable pain across the world. The gun trafficking business takes more lives because these weapons are sold to rebels who kill innocent civilians. These guns end up in the hand of groups like ISIS. I don't think being a drug dealer is worst than trading guns.

Well, the book in general is great. You will love it. There are a few typos but apart from that it was a good read just like I expected.

The Battaglia clan is once again here to bring you drama and mayhem like only they can. The story picks up where La Famiglia (Battaglia Mafia #4) by Sienna Mynx ended, with Giovanni and Mirabella trying to work through the aftereffects of her ordeal. The "Boss of all bosses" is navigating the shifting power structure of his organization. Mira is trying to maintain her place as the center of her family, everyone pretending not to see the cracks in her foundation, except the family members willing to exploit them.

First have to say Sienna Mynx knows she's wrong for this cliffhanger! At the same time, couldn't deduct for it because the B, C, and D plotlines were so engrossing. Giovanni's cousin Lorenzo and her sister Marietta keep us guessing about how far across the line will they go to keep the deadly secret that brought them together. Gino's sister Catalina finds herself playing games with Don Armando Mancini, while trying to protect her love Domi, and family. It also was great to get more of Mira's backstory before meeting Gio. We know so much about the Italians, but until now only crumbs about her American family. Will we ever catch the phantom that is responsible for most of the chaos chronicled in most of the series?

I'm so frustrated because of my need to know how it all ends, but it says something that almost 700 pages weren’t enough.

02/16/19 Reread: I stand behind everything mentioned in my initial review.

I'm not mad at Marietta.

***spoliers****

Five or six books later La Dolce Vita ends many of the secrets from the previous books, all the while bringing a new set of problems for the next books. And I am loving it!

First off, if you didn't read Capu, you must. That story sort of ushers in this story. Carlo is seriously damaged over Shae, to the point where his new live in flavor, sort of favors his 2 main loves. I don't care what his new found love for Shae is or was, I remember when he admitted that he was in Love with Marietta. I also remember that Shea, in the beginning was supposed to be just a fling for him and the love of his life was suppose to be someone else. 75% into Capu, I was ready for Shae and Carlo to be that "it" couple. So, I feel like Carlo's women situation will get a bit messier before it can get better. I was really wondering did he image his sleep session with Adara as Marietta? You start to wonder with the new info on Adara, will this change Carlo's feelings about Shae being the love of his life? If he does choose Adara, with her job situation, will that even work properly?

I'm not sure if this love Triangle, square, or octagon will ever be sorted but hey. I will say Marietta is G and as flaky as she has been mentally (no fault of her own), she was not playing when she told Lo she loved him and that if Mira had been in the same spot with Gio, she would end up doing the same thing. Carlo may forget about his "feelings for Marie" literally LMBO

What you learn about Marietta and Mira's past on their mother's side, it gives detail not only about Mira and her life even before Fabiana and Kei but you see how and why Marietta acts and thinks the way she does. I was really intrigued about Mira's family and wish there was more to it. I thought for a little, there was maybe a deeper connection to a life of crime on that side than either of them knew.

Lorenzo, some how I feel there was some sort of softening to Lorenzo's betrayal. I have never liked Lo and really, by book 2, I thought he would have been dead, even before Giovanni found out about his "secret" conversation with Giuseppe. The things in the first book, that made me believe Lo was going to turn into this crazy ass killer of his family. His constant hold on Fabiana's memory and the fact he married Marietta, to me, under false pretenses. I believed this before the information about his mother was revealed. The way his sister and mom went out, I thought Lo going out with a bang, wouldn't have been surprising at all. He also killed Carmine without a thought and completely lied to Carlo about it. To me, that was bigger than his conversation of assassination of Tomisino. In which that convo boiled down to as not being serious because he was drunk and sniffing coke....yea. The 80's poppin. The softening of the issue for me is during a flash back of Lo and Gio. Apparently, Lo loved his cousin as a real brother. But whatever, Marietta is still a G lol

Dominic, Catalina, and Rosetta with the love story that is left as a cliff hanger, literally lol. This story was a lesson on the grass isn't always greener on the other side. You see 2 cousins who grew up together, who often envied each other for a number of things. For me, I was ok with the situation between Catalina and Dominic, mainly because they are all each other has known. Their relationship was built on a lot stars and pixie dust. Unfortunately for Rosetta she picked the absolute wrong time to be bold lol So now, you have to wonder will Catalina find Armando that intriguing? She seemed to in Amore and just tried to let that thought process pass. Also, no matter what Lorenzo did. Catalina and Gio's relationship will never be the same. Even if she finds out what happened with Gio, abuse sometimes changes people.

I'm waiting for Renaldo to tell the family, I'm going back to school. I'm out this place lol

The couple of the hour, Mira and Gio. Let's just say secrets and lies weren't just told by Lo and caused destruction. Honestly, that has been done by everyone except for the kids. Zia's story on how she married Roco was tragic. Mira realizing she has had blinders on is not new. This seems to be the revelation for her in every book. I'm just believing it comes in degrees. Very slow, snail's pace degrees on a hot summer day in the middle of July. The main issue Mira should have been addressed with Gio is his life and them not sharing things with the women. It's why they're running behind the men's back and making their own deals. Mira, like Marietta has displayed traits from her updated parentage. The sister's lives are repeating history and hopefully they can get it cleared before it's too late. Mira's other issue has been trusting Gio and I get why she doesn't fully trust him. You learn of what really happened to her during her time with Iron fist Kei, the Dragon. Ultimately she is suffering from PTSD but this is from her full past. I will say I am side eyeing her "new therapist". I'm not sure how I feel about her. I believe she has a connection to Fabiana. With the women taking charge in the next book and Lisa's story coming about, seems like we will see the change in dynamic when it comes to women of the family and what their duty and obligations to the family must be.

I do hope that Mira's family does come from America to Italy. I loved that Eve had a black cousin to play with, it almost makes want to see if Sienna will do a book of the Kids when they get older. lol I might be asking for too much.

Gio and Lo's relationship reminds me of Ragnar and Rollo's relationship on Vikings....Rollo betrays Ragnar, not once! But twice! Rollo eventually becomes a leader of the Franks (French) It's a love but jealous relationship between the 2.

It's been a long review but I have to say, I love love love hint dropping, and little pieces being left to make up a big picture in a story..... I have played this whole book series like tv series in my mind. Loved it.

The story started of a bit slow for me but sped up in the middle and end was explosive.

No matter what anyone says, I feel that Lorenzo and Marietta are worthy of being in the family they have something to bring the table.

Carlo I was disappointed in but I understood his need for comfort after what happened with Shae.

I did think that Gio could have shown mercy so I was disappointed in him for that too.

I am glad I saved this book until just before book 8 came out. Now on to see the results of what happen in this book.

Bravo Bravo, great read. This book had my head spinning the family is sick. Marie and Lo are crazy, but I did softened up to Lo this time around.

Please let Shea and Carlo get back together and let Marie leave him the hell alone. Geo deserves to get shot see how it feels to be so hot headed. When is Mira gonna be a real Donna ,step up girl and be the hell raiser now, let them known the true woman you are. Love, love this book can't wait for the Bella Donna

Wow

I gave La Dolce Vita a five star rating because it deserved it. From the beginning, middle and end, I've been invested in this story. I've laughed, shed a tear and used some colorful language while reading this. I can't bring myself to like just one character in this book I love them all, they bring this book to life. I would love, love, love to see this on the big screen or as a tv series. Sienna Mynx bravo to a job well done please keep this series going..

This series has me in a tailspin! I loved and hated this book because it allowed me to see all the hidden agendas of major characters where the past bring more pain and is destroying the Battaglia Mafia family. Secrets are revealed and plentiful in "La Dolce Vita" and I'm honestly afraid to even read the next book!

I am a huge fan of the Battaglia series. But, like Capu, this book did not live up to expectations I had based on the previous books. I found myself skipping pages and skimming before I got to the 50% mark. The only reason that I can think of that warranted the many 5 stars is because of the really long wait and we as readers and fans were ready to absorb anything.

description

I did not particularly like it, it was just okay. Hence the 2 stars. If it were any other series or book or author, this would have made it to the 'dnf' shelf before 40%. It was such a long book to read to not enjoy. I was looking forward to the romance but there was more emphasis on the mafia and dysfunctional aspect. She has the right to do that due to the genre of the book. But it did feel a little all over the place; but, I guess it sorta reflected Giovanni's grip on things...It was not firm and he was slipping a bit.

So, what exactly did I not like about the book? Where to start...
Too many subplots: I think it seemed a lot because there was nothing quite captivating or memorable about them. The bummer is that we could actually do without some like Kyra and Renaldo, Cutter, look-a-like Dr, ...Hell, we could do without the whole trip to America. Which brings me to the next:

The good old days:I skimmed and skipped the whole history lesson about Mira's grandparents and stuff. It just seemed unnecessary and boring in my opinion. Oh and there was so much melodrama on Mira's and Marietta's part...

description

I was really excited when I saw the length of this book but it just seem to go on forever because in my opinion, it did not have that 'wow factor.' I mean whatever happened to small details that kept the reading enticing like Carlo's longing and Lorenzo's suspicion that made my heart go pitter patter and Santo's sly looks that had me grin mischievously. Smh.. I read this book passively...

description

What I did like about the book: Gino and Gianni! They were soo cute and I kept looking forward to reading about them.

I thought Don Tacchini would play a bigger role in this but I guess that would be in Bella Mafia. I still have hope in this series because Sienna Mynx is a wonderful writer.. I mean, she wrote the amazing books 1-5! So, I am really looking forward to Bella Mafia

Disappointed is not the word

I waited on this book bc I love the series. I have read every book in this series and the most recent two have been crap. I will wait for the next book, hopefully that one will be better but I seriously have my doubts. I don't know what the authors aim was but whatever she was trying to hit, she misses her target. Giovanni is a raging lunatic, Mirabella is weak and pampered. If the aim is for her to grow a pair and actually become the Donna in the next book. Well, I cannot imagine that happening. She's too weak to be anything other than Mirabella, pampered fashion designer. Catalina is too immature and impulsive to make any desisions. Dominic is too emotional to be anyone's right hand. Marietta, I'm so over her bipolar butt. She and Lorenzo are truly the weakest links. She's too unstable to be any good to anybody and she's pregnant. She didn't deserve the love of her sister, Carlo, or Shae. She's selfish and spoiled. If Lorenzo and Marietta don't make it out of the next book alive, those characters would have lived three books too many. The best characters are the supporting cast, Umberto, Carlo, Nico, and Renaldo. I am amazed that I have actually given this author such a poor review, twice. I normally love anything Sienna writes but OMG these last two books have been crap. I'm gonna give the next book a chance but it sucks half as much as this one, I'm done with this series. I do not recommend spending money on this book or book 5.5 in the series. If you can get it free, please do, but if have to pay for them. Please don't spend more than .99 cents. The only reason this book got three stars was bc things got interesting after Giovanni was shot. I really can't tell you too much about this book other than it SUCKED, MAJORLY, bc I skipped so many chapters. This book felt rushed. Like there was little thought put into it. I hate how weak Mirabella is and how unstable Giovanni is. How are they supposed to be believable as the Head Bosses In Charge if they always fall apart and Mirabella lives in a bubble. I'm gonna stop now bc I could seriously bash this book and then continue to kill it. However, since i am gonna buy the next one I will save the rest of my rant for the next book. I have a feeling it's going to SUCK as well. I am so disappointed. I feel like one of my favorite shows has come to an end and the series finale was a waste of time and effort. Dang it. I really hated this book

Loved this book!!! No one is perfect, they are all sinners. They're are a strong family but also divided by a lot of secrets from the past. The truth always wins in the end and they all pay for their betrayals so painfully. In this book we see Marietta and Maribella's stark differences. They love each other but they each have separate loyalty to their men and separate families above all. Poor Catalina is introduced into the mafia world and is caught between Armando's wicked games. She soon learns that she cannot win in a game between Dons (alfa men). She also turns murderer which makes her loose my vote. She made herself vulnerable to Rosetta even when she knew she wanted everything she ever had including Domi. So killing Rosetta didn't make any sense to me, in fact, it just adds to the fact that she has always been a selfish little bitch who always got her way. And instead of having the cake and eating it, she ended up all alone with nothing.

Some Spoilers.

It's taken me almost two years to read this book. I bought it in October of 2016. I don't know why it took me so long, but once I started I couldn't put it down. I have Bella Mafia which I bought in October of 2017. I'll start as soon as I finish this review.

I loved that each chapter has a heading that was explained within the chapter. This book continues after Mirabella is saved from Kei. They're back home at Melanzana. Mirabella suffers from nightmares mostly about Kei trying to kill her or Giovanni dying. Giovanni is the only one who can calm her.

Lorenzo is still trying to find Isabella to kill her and retrieve the tapes. Marietta helps him because she's only loyal to him. Rosetta is back and is going to work with Catalina because Mirabella ordered it. Of course we know Rosetta is conniving as usual. It's all about Rosetta by any means necessary. It appears that everyone has that same attitude except Giovanni, who truly loves his family but had begun to doubt everyone around him. Mirabella is a little too naive to have lived through situations that should have given her discernment.

Catalina is given a surprise birthday party. Why is Rosetta and Armando in cahoots? Does it have anything to do with Catalina? Will Armando do anything to have her? As Mirabella's nightmares continue, she's advised to see a therapist. This therapist looks like Fabiana with red hair and blue eyes which is almost the spitting image of her. Why does no one question why this therapist looks like Fabiana? She even admits to lying for she researched the family and dyed her hair. Maribella agrees for the family to take counseling after the visit to America. Giovanni knows Lorenzo is keeping things from him especially when he tells him they're going to America to meet Maribella' s and Marietta 's family and Lorenzo put up a little fight about. After being corrected by Giovanni, Lorenzo has no choice.

Giovanni shares his plans to take back everything that belongs to him. He also went public about Marietta and Maribella relationship with the Mancinis. Why? Giovanni assigned duties to all his men. Lorenzo is upset that he can't keep hunting Isabella but Giovanni told him he would handle her. Carlo tells Renaldo about the plan and tells him he doesn't think it'll work but he's prepared to die. Who has Giovanni back? Maribella does and she uses his love to get him to do things for relatives.

They finally go to America. Why did they fly commercial? Arriving in Apple Valley they meet Maribella's cousin. They stay in farmhouse after renting a car. Maribella wanted to keep things as normal as possible so not to show up anyone in her family. They meet the family and others at a cookout. Shocking secrets are revealed about Maribella grandparents and her mother. Maribella with Giovanni visit her grandparents graves, and She broke down and revealed a secret she held for 10 years; yet, all of Apple Valley knew because She trusted the wrong person. Everyone loved the kids especially their skin color and blue eyes. They also love Marietta and gives her a diary and album of her mother. She didn't know when or if she would share with Maribella. We also know that Cutter was once Marcella boyfriend. When the men went to a bar, Cutter said vile things about Maribella. He remained calm but would make him pay later.

Carlo was still recovering but was trying to find Isabella for Lorenzo. Carlo showed up when a Senator was murdered. He found Adara and another dead girl. He has the scene cleaned and took Adara with him. Who is Adara and why did she go with Carlo? Is she an agent spying on the Battaglias?

In Paris, we see Rosetta immediately up to her same tricks making a deal with Armando Mancini. He plays tapes for Catalina and she cries. Unbelievable! She knows Giovanni would kill him so she agreed to meet Armando in Paris to gets tapes. How far will she go to get tapes? Would she sneak out to meet him and what does she do to get tapes? It doesn't take long for her to be outed. After meeting Armando, she goes to her room and finds a furious Dominic

The family leave America cutting their visit short. Things were happening in Italy. Lorenzo knows they've found Isabella and immediately start to make plans. Carlo goes to get Isabella supposedly held by Alek, no Isabella. They find her purse, the tape with Lorenzo's name on it and other things. Alek tried to get them to read tape but Dominic said he would give it to Giovanni to read. Dominic had to go back to Paris and told them to get Isabella but kill everybody else - no women or children.

When Giovanni arrives in Italy he sends family ahead. Lorenzo knows something is up and says he's taking Marietta away for vacation. He finds out that Giovanni has heard tape. Meanwhile Giovanni with some men go to get Isabella. She pretends to be tied up and when everything goes down, she's the only one left alive. What does Giovanni shoot her with? Who are the people who takes her away and where are they taking her?

When Giovanni gets back to Melanzana, things are out of control. He goes to his office and finds the tape. After listening he goes ballistic and ordered Lorenzo shot on sight. Even Mirabella can't talk him down. Catalina tries to talk to him to explain her actions. He wasn't hearing and became violent. Mirabella stops him. Catalina gets Rosetta and at gunpoint forces her to go with her. Does Rosetta gets the opportunity to finally tell the truth? Lorenzo and Marietta are hiding out. They're making plans to leave country. Lorenzo knows he can go no place where Giovanni can't get him. He calls Giovanni and asks for a meeting. Giovanni agrees.

Maribella knows Giovanni is going to kill Lorenzo so she tells Marietta to ask Armando for protection. She does. Still Lorenzo prepares to go meet Giovanni even though Marietta begs him not to go. After he leaves, Carlo come looking for Lorenzo, she tells him that he's meeting Giovanni. Carlo will go and Marietta insists on going taking a semi-automatic gun. When they arrive, she hits Carlo in the head with a tire iron and goes inside. Before she gets there, Giovanni has shot Lorenzo in the leg and is preparing to kill him when shots are fired and Giovanni is shot twice in the back then in the shoulder. Armando arrives with his men and take Marietta and Lorenzo and asks if Carlo and Giovanni is dead and three told that are.

Is Giovanni really dead or did Carlo play dead? Do the get them to the hospital in time. Even though they stop the bleeding, he's too weak for the surgery he needs. Mirabella is there and stays with him. Will Giovanni live. What happens to Lorenzo and Marietta? Where is Rosetta. Where is Ardara? Who does Maribella have when she needs someone most?

It appears every problem, disagreement or whatever is solved by over the top erotic sex. It's the same with all the couples which was unnecessary and added nothing to the book after the 4th or 5th time and became boring and pathetic. The book deserved better. I wanted Lorenzo to pay and Marietta too. I wanted Rosetta to be found out by entire family and then punished. Catalina also needed more punishment than she got. For Carlo, I want the love of a good woman. I want Mirabella to take off the blinders and stop saving people who deserves to die and put her focus completely on Giovanni. For Giovanni I want a family who loves him as much as he does them. Good book but the errors are very distracting causing me to lower the score.

I went back and forth with this book there were parts that drew me in intimately and had me convulsing in tears at times and happiness at others. But the other part had me feeling a darkness that I absolutely hated as it encroached upon my very soul. So why 5 stars you ask? In my opinion any writer who can pull that level of emotion from me is genius with the god-given talent that has been bestowed upon them. Ms. Sienna Mynx is one of a kind and until she decides to leave this chosen path I will ALWAYS journey along beside her until the end. Now to the book. What can I say Mirabella became more human to me in this book. I think in all of the past installments I always liked her character and silently rooted for the love that she had with Giovanni but she in many ways felt unapproachable and too good to be true. The very halo that I imagined hovering over her head throughout all of the other installments was made invisible in this one and yet I salute and celebrate her more than ever before. In this installment we see the aftermath of her kidnapping and the manifestation of years of secrets that she had harbored simply because in many ways she valued and needed the adoration that Gio and the others around her placed upon her shoulders. That very vanity is what ultimately became her prison causing both her mind and body to turn on her. As much as Gio was her protector he was also the jailer who was the keeper of the keys. Placing Mira on this impossible pedestal of invincibility slowly eroded the strong confident woman that he originally met. We saw how she ran away and simpered whenever she was faced with adversity and because of that I more often than not would eschew heavy sighs of frustration. But here in all of her weakness and vulnerability I began to see the inner steel and strength that has been invariably interwoven in the very depths of women's DNA regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. Mira represents the mothers, wives, sisters, and friends that we've all crossed paths with. Yeah she had shortcoming and yes she had failures and secrets but we can embrace her because like her we also share these same traits. Now for Gio as much as I love him for Mira and as much as I have consistently and constantly rooted for their love over the years he burns my entire soul because of his rigidness and inability to conform when necessary. It can be seen as an admirable trait but more often that not the ones that are closest to him are the ones who feel the pain and burn from some of the decisions that he makes. While I understand the tremendous burden that he carries being the head of all bosses he is yet to learn how to be the man, father, brother, and friend that he needs to be when he enters the solace of his home. He brings that burden home with him and with the emotional connection that the has with Mira she feels it and internalizes every pain and struggle that he stridently tries to keep from her only making the situation ten times worse. The issue with Marietta and Lorenzo is going to be such an uphill journey to surmount that I have the slightest idea or notion how Ms. Sienna will be able to come back from this one. Marietta and Lorenzo are the worst kind of people to find one another. Their motives in many regards are purely selfish and they only see how their decisions will affect them not the ones around them that they claim to love. Love is not supposed to be selfish to the point that those who love you are seared and burned because of the singes that they encounter for being in your life but unfortunately that is what happens to every single individual who gives their unfailing love and devotion to Marietta & Lorenzo. I don't know maybe because of their background and damaged childhoods they are unable to understand or even weigh the consequences of their actions and decisions until it's too late but invariably their outlook is always about how it will affect them not the ones around them. Catalina, Catalina, Catalina. She is still very much a child in many ways. She was never fully equipped to be in the relationship that she has with Domi. His emotional outburst of how she always chooses herself over him was so heartfelt and sadly in my opinion very true. Catalina loves Domi with the love of a child. She has grown in so many ways and stayed stagnant in many others. I'm not sure what the future holds for these two but I would love it for once if she would be the woman that we've seen glimpses and hints that she can become. Unfortunately I blame Mira for Rosetta and the treachery that she was able to level against the family. Mira's quest to reunite family and have everyone together as one is admirable but a fatal flaw as well. She sees her family in many cases through rose-tinted glasses and forgets that the pure intentions that she harbors for everyone aren't exactly the case for those around her...family or no family. I think with all of the new revelations and the secrets being thrown out that she will truly began to heal and we will hopefully see a stronger Donna emerge in the next installment. Once again as I stated before Ms. Sienna is a genius with her pen. I can't express enough how much I've traveled, experienced and felt just by reading her Battaglia Series. She ignites a lust in my soul to want to learn new things, travel to new places and meet new people. Anytime a book can do all of those things then you have in my opinion a book that will last the test of time and will be here long after we cease to exist. Kudos Ms. Sienna. I truly can't wait for what you have up your sleeve for us next but regardless of what it is I know that I'm well equipped and ready to take the literary ride of lifetime!!

An awesome read and Sienna Mynx never disappoints! Several points that I wish to elaborate on is that I wish that the writer had given the reader some idea of where Catalina went. Also, I am glad that Armando came to the rescue. I want to trust him but he still has to prove that his intentions are good. Mira is still sometimes a disappointment and I was glad that she helped her family and her home town in Virginia. I am familiar with the DC/MD/VA area (the area that Mira grew up in seems to be closer to the North Carolina border and not the northern part of Virginia that I am familiar with) and Sienna Mynx mentioned the river that Mirabella said she fished in and the actual river is in West Virginia and not the state of Virginia. Just a little geography error that should have been corrected. A few grammatical errors in the writing but it was still a great read! I don't think that Gio will die since he is the love of Mira's life! Sorry for the spoilers!

This book, one word- AMAZING! Is it November yet? I need the rest of the book. I love, love this series but this book from beginning to end was just a huge mess with your mind kind of book and moment and man was it awesome! I want to get off of this rollercoaster but I cannot get off and I do not want to- not at all! I see Mira weakened by what has happened to her yet she is getting stronger every day. I want the hits and hard knocks of life to quit coming for Mirabella she deserves the good life and to be happy but while she protects everyone that she loves- they do not do the same for her. This ending- I think you saw it coming from the time you met some of the characters for the first time, you knew there was nothing good that could come from a family keeping secrets and man does this book teach you why. I love Gio, Mira and her little family but I will say after this book I wish Mira was an orphan. Marietta and Armando- I can not! My heart goes out to Catalina she has really matured in this book and tried to do the right thing…trusting the wrong people and doing their bidding will have a devastating impact on her life and world and it breaks my heart. Gio- has the vision, is an Alpha, has grown so much and you have to love a man who will go to the ends of the earth for the woman he loves but as much as I love Gio that beauty he possesses hides the deadly- it reminds you of the story of the snake that bites the guy after he rescues him-people don’t change and in some ways trying to change has lost more for Gio than it has gained him. Where he flourishes is in his true love for Mira and their kids and he is quite evolved and unchanged in his love for Mira no matter what the past reveals-and I love that about him. The Isabella solution is not the one you initially expect but it is Gio at his cold blooded and emotionless best-it is a well- deserved play. I find the Cutter issue interesting it is almost like watching Gio meet Kei again and rewrite history for Mira but also for himself. This is Sienna’s best book in the series so far and man did it mess me up! Read it immediately!

What a great Book!

If I could give this book 10 stars I would. The suspense of the story was so thrilling. Sienna has a way with words and setting up scenes to make one think they are actually witnessing what's happening. Everyone wants the sweet life but what do you do when you find out your beloved family has secrets? Family is everything, they are who one depends on for safety and stability. The story weaves a tale around the consequences of what happens to the family when secrets are kept. Only love for family can save them. Mira and Gio have a strong bonded love. They need that love to survive the challenges that betrayal brings. Gio will do anything to protect that love of his donna if he feels threatened. Even Marietta and Lorenzo have a strong bond. They have saved each other, and will sacrifice all for the other. All of the alpha males in the Battaglia series depict men who seem to be so hard and unreachable, but when they find that one woman, they are totally loyal, they love hard, deep, and true. No other woman will do. Sienna did an awesome job with this book. I ran the gambit of emtions reading it. I can't wait for Bella Mafia.

Loved it! I read this book straight through. I am pleased to see Giovanni has mellowed out some and has learned to think a bit more wisely. I wasn't too surprised by Mirabella's past. I kind of sensed her secret early on and the identity of her real grandmother. What did upset me was that Lorenzo never seems to pay for anything he has done. When the chips fall, it's always Mirabella and Gio who have to pick up the pieces. I'm sick of Marietta, I always hated her character. She still seems envious of her sister's life. It's always about what she and Lorenzo wants. Convincing Catalina to do what she did to save Lorenzo. Hiding the bitter truth from her sister regarding Don Tomasino. She's selfish and spiteful and what she did at the end of the book to Gio needs to be addressed. She doesn't deserve a happy ending while once again Mira and Gio suffers. It's too much! i find it hard to feel any sympathy for Marietta and Lorenzo. And still, there seems to be more secrets in the Battaglia clan. I'm definitely ready for the next book.

Loved it! Everything happened just like I thought it would with a few surprises! Can't wait to see how all the relationships play out especially Carlo and Adara. I empathize with Mirabella and I'm happy she finally let go of some of the insecurities about her family in Virginia and faced the trauma from the kidnapping. I hope Giovanni getting shot will make her see she has to woman up and be 'the DONNA' the family needs her to be!
Although Catalina made the decision to meet with Armando, I blame her issues first on Mirabella for bringing that lying heifer Rosetta back and secondly on Marietta for giving her advice that was not only bad but very selfish. What made me truly angry was Dominic and Giovanni not trusting Catalina when she said she didn't sleep with Armando. I was happy to see Rosetta get what she deserved! I just wish Catalina would've opened up a can of 'beat a whore' on her and then lights out!
I just touched on some key points in the book but there's more in there to satisfy your Battaglia fix! I loved the book and can't wait for November!

Storytelling at its best!

I love my Battaglia Mafia family! When an Author spins their tale and it keeps the reader so involved with the characters & storyline that when you finish the book you feel like you've just binged watched a favorite TV series you didn't want to end! You miss that whirl of emotions those characters brought you. You want the next installment of the story so much you back track & re-read everything about these people and wait with baited breath for the continuing saga! This Author, Sienna Mynx does that for her readers! She is one of the few Authors I will pre-order books from. She brings it to the table. I am happily anticipating her next Battaglia release! I got nothing but love for Gio & Mira, my Don & Donna!!

Mirabella: My favorite. A delicate flower to Giovanni but also a tree that bends but doesn't break. She wants to protect her family and keep the family together with love but secrets and betrayal distrust make it hard to do.
Giovanni: My favorite guy. He will tear up the world for his Bella. He is ruled by his emotions. Mirabella tries to save him from himself as much as he saves her.
Marietta: Less delicate and more calculating than Mirabella. She has a edge to her.
Lorenzo: A unintentional fuckup. He also cheated on Marietta which taints my view of him. I don't like cheaters. He tries to straighten up and be a good husband father and brother but will his fuckups get in the way of that.

I can NOT do Carlo and Adara. Nope! It's like Rachel and Joey's relationship on Friends. FORCED! Nope. Carlo and Shea made me smile. Carlo and Adara make my lips turn up in a snarl. Please. Please. Ms. Mynx. Do not let Carlo end up with Adara.

I know I'm in the minority, but I still like Lorenzo and Marietta(even though, Marietta needs to stay out of everyone's business) . They aren't perfect, but I think they work for each other.

I can't stand Catalina and Domi together. I like Catalina and I like Domi. I just don't like them together.

I really enjoyed the parts when they were in Virginia.

Really enjoyed the rest of the book. Some parts could've been edited out, but it was a good read.

An incredibly unexpected twist. Giovanni himself gets the shock of his life. That wife of his, who I consider somewhat an airhead even before the kidnapping continues to be so. The book takes betrayals to a level you would never have expected in this group (family). Everybody gets pushed to the limit and you begin to see what everybody is really made of. I'm very anxious for the next book. I still consider this as one of the best series I've read and I highly recommend reading the Battaglia Mafia Series. So, Sienna, come on with the next book please ma'am.

You never disappoint

This is the best reading soap opera ever. I can't wait for the next book. It reminds me of the Italian tv series Gomorrah with added flavor.

The more I read the series the more I ask myself how differently I would handle being in Mirabella’s situation as well as others.

Lorenzo grows on me from time to time but when I look at Lorenzo as a whole , is he redeemable ? I am doubtful . It seems to me that he is inherently cruel. His end justifies his means regardless of who gets hurt.

Marietta has not redeemed herself. I think she and Lorenzo are the same selfish individuals .

Why has Marietta decided to be be so conniving instead of seeking sensible aid from Bella Donna? How is plotting and colluding the answer to her husbands worries? Couldn’t she be the voice of reason? Shame on you, Marietta.

Carlo … Carlo needs to remove his blinders . Carlo keeps praising & remaining loyal to Lorenzo for the ‘little‘ act of kindness Lorenzo keeps bartering with . Which genuine friend throws aid in your face ? Wake up, Carlo! Lorenzo is the friend that reminds you of the favours he has done for you everyday . He keeps score and collects.

Catalina is a proper nuisance. A capital Nuisance. Every battle is a tantrum and a tantrum and self pity. She is guilty of allowing Marietta’s and Armando’s manipulation. Whatever she gets now she deserves. I applaud her for dealing with Rosetta, albeit that was almost a failure. 😒

Giovanni is truly Capo De Capi to deal with his family. His family …

Mirabella‘s secret threw me . I did not expect it and I love Cutter’s introduction . The trip to America was a refreshing change .

Dominic and his pity parties. Wow. Just wow.

This is just another masterpiece. 1000 stars.🎖

We don't know where Catalina is.

Rosetta is FINALLY dead. She deserved it because even after everything she still thought of having it all when she knew she destroyed Catalina. Catalina tried with her.

Istg. I despise Marietta. She shot Gio, knowing it will destroy Mirabella. All that forgiving is pissing me off. Tf you mean Mirabella has to forgive her for taking Gio's life??? He has kids and Mirabella tried to save Marietta's husband, the bastard Lorenzo, by going against her husband's wishes. SHE CALLED ARMANDO to save Lorenzo's ass and Marietta just had to fucking destroy everything? Whose damn fault is it that Lorenzo is a lying, deceptive, jealous and conniving animal????? He knew the outcome of what he did, yet....

In the name of love. Ig.

Let the drama continue. Book 7 here I come.

I love this series

This series is wonderful. I can’t put it down. It is sexy, exciting, heartbreaking, and filled with suspense. For the most part I’m enjoying each character with the exception of the selfish, conniving twin sister Marietta. She does one good thing , just enough to make you think that maybe she’s alright, just misunderstood. Then she turns around and does about 10 scheming, selfish things. She expects everyone to make sacrifices while she makes none. And the family is so blind to this. Arrrgh!!! I’m hoping in future books she will finally get what’s coming to her like Rosetta. Thank you Miss Minx for the enjoyable rollercoaster.

Worth the wait!!!!

This was a long time coming but it was definitely worth the wait. I found it extremely helpful in getting back into the gist of the Battaglia series; since it's been such a long wait.

This book was long but it brought back the main characters and where they are at this point in their lives. The storyline did not disappoint and the heart pounding, edge of the seat drama is in full effect.

I strongly recommend this book and the series if you haven't already read the previous books.

Excellent read!

As usual this was an excellent read. This world of the Battaglia’s gets ever more complicated. Family reunions are always nice, but they also always bring with them drama. Gio and Mirabellas time in the United States was a great eye opener of background information. This was a well written story that contained great plot twist. I only rated it four stars because it contained a number of editorial errors that should have been caught in the editing process.
