All the stories were really good and had a link to each other. I usually don't care to read short stories, but I really like this authors work and gave it a try. Am glad I did.
I am not one for reading anthologies, but this one caught my eye because the premise said all the stories were linked somehow. I am one always looking for hidden clues or pieces to the puzzle. So, I loved as you read along, eventually you would find the connection. Which by then made this book a page tuner.
You get 12 horror stories, that are either creepy, chilling, gory and gross, bloody, surprising and some have very twisted endings. Plus, I had this strange feeling about “rats”. I am not going to list all of them, you need to read, seek and find the clues yourself. These are some of my favorites and I thought were very skillfully written. Plus, when I found the connection, I would then go Wow! I see the whole picture clearly now.
Yurples: Back in 2011 when this anthology first came out, “Clowns” were not even a threat. Now in 2016, all October they took over for “Slenderman”. Isn’t that a strange coincidence.
Observation Room: was gory, gross and a shock at the ending. I had no idea where this story was going.
That Gnawing Feeling: Unbelievable and disturbing plot. Will there be vengeance?
No. 5 Sycamore Street: Evil ex-profession comes back to haunt the character, who now has found God and Faith.
A Strange Affair: Loved it, because I never had a clue. I was completely in the dark with the whole story.
Victor: He’s the man in charge and you will see why
