Kess Jones definitely has it all from her looks, inherited wealth, and other luxuries. She takes pride in being the infamous daughter of the high-profile Jones family. One would think she would be content being that she’s surrounded by two loving parents and her best friend; however, there is something, or someone rather, missing in her life. Kess secretly longs to find love after breaking up with her college boyfriend a year ago.
Kess lives by the motto ‘you can’t find love in the club’ until one night she catches the attention of the notorious pretty boy, Ace Campbell. After one dance, she finds herself wanting him; or Ace finds himself wanting Kess after one dance. Ace Campbell always gets what he wants, so there is no surprise when he snags the woman of every man’s dreams.
Similar to Kess, Ace is not your average person. He has the looks and arrogance that would bring any woman to her knees. At only twenty-eight, he has already retired and enjoys the riches from the fruit of his street labor. However, a scarring incident during his childhood leaves him deeply flawed. As much as Ace wants to reciprocate love, he simply can’t, so he doesn’t. Not even when he has a good wholesome woman like Kess. Unfortunately for Kess, she unveils different masks of Ace after she has already fallen deeply in love with him. Underneath his charm, lies a man who is sadistic and a womanizer. While gaining the strength to walk away from a one-sided love, Kess finds solace in her best friend and parents. That is until she is betrayed in the worst way by the ones she love and is left to fend for herself.
Will someone come to Kess’s rescue before she closes the curtains on love that she felt never loved her back?
Wow I don't even know where to begin with this read! Traci definitely brought a banger when she wrote this book. It was very interesting. It was also an eye opener when it comes to domestic violence. Kess was a good woman. She just had to go through heartbreak before she found her prince charming. Ace definitely was not that man for her. The fact that he continued to do Kess the way he did was crazy. He had a good woman and lost her because of his choices. The fact that he lied so much was just too much. Some of the lies that he came up with made me want to slap him. Lol. That baby mama of his worked my nerves. That chick had nothing going for herself. Ace definitely should have taken Q's advice. Now he probably regrets losing the best thing that ever happened to him. I never thought Celine would turn out the way she did, but when you are jealous of someone you will do anything to hurt them. At the end of the days the trouble turned on her and she got everything she deserved. Christian was a great guy! I loved him. He was there for Kess through everything. He made sure he showed her what love should have felt like. He made things so much better. The way this book ended was great!!
Spoiled and sheltered at its best. Less didn't know how to live as an adult because her parents wanted her to still be a child. I'm glad these things happened to her so that she can become a real adult. I knew Celine was flaky from the start and she got what she deserved. Glad Ace got the help that he desperately needed.
Nice to see how a trouble relationship with love and hurt turn around to a passionate and loving ending. Happy kess and Christian had a wonderful happen ending. Kess woke up and got the right man
Great book.i hated to see Kess go through so much just because she had a good heart. I knew Celine was a bitter jealous chick from the jump.Ace was a piece of work glad he finally got some help and changed. Love the way it ended happily ever after for Kess and Christian.
