More a history of the band Chicago than a bio of Jimmy Pankow but that's ok. I liked the book enough but a few stories seemed too far fetched and made wonder about the accuracy. (Kath having to get drunk on the couch to record Colour My World?). And a trivial pet peeve...the author states at the beginning of the book that Pankow's friends call him Pank. That's fine but then he refers to him as Pank for entire book. I know, it's minor but I found it annoying.

Homme a Show! More than just a biography of James Pankow

This book could also be titled "A History of Chicago - A Rock and Roll Band with Horns" Because that is just how this book reads, and it is a wonderful read. The author definitely did his research. This book goes into great detail of every member of the group. It covers each album. Recording sessions. Experiences on tour. Triumph and tragedies. A must read for any Chicago fan.

Probably the best biography of Chicago. The book is a balanced look at the history of Chicago ending in 2015. It does focus somewhat on James Pankow but is a pretty balanced look at the entire band.

The past written as the present

Interesting book, filled with plenty of anecdotes about the band and it cast of characters. One thing that puzzled me is that it was written in present tense. It was kind of a speed-bump for the first few chapters - so much so, that I consciously changed it to past tense as I read it. Eventually, my brain accepted it, and the book flowed after that. All-in-all, an enjoyable read.
