Alexis Alvarez writes romances - some are light-hearted contemporary romances; others delve into the exotic world of domination and submission.
Her female heroines are strong-willed women who are never push-overs, and who can hold their own in society and the workplace, but who are intrigued with the idea of kink and submission in the bedroom. Alexis writes with skill and poetry, creating worlds that are both dark and erotic and, at times, humorous and light.
Alexis is a writer, photographer, gourmet cook, former engineer, and mom. She likes other things besides BDSM fiction, and some of them include snorkeling, lemon bars, thunderstorms, and laughing so hard with her sisters and brother that her stomach hurts.
You can find Alexis at the website she shares with her two real-life sisters, who are also romance writers: www.graffitifiction.com
I’ve had the pleasure of reading Reality Calls by Jenni Moen (a part of BLEED BLUE 69 anthology)
While we wait in agony to read the second book in Black Widow series, Mrs. Moen treats us with a beautiful and charming story of Luke and Sierra .
We met these characters in Black Widow, casually hooking up but they stole the show everytime they were on the scene and since then I couldn’t wait to read their story. Now that I read it, I WANT MORE!!!
Luke is a cop and Sierra, a real estate manager who helped Scott (Luke’s brother) settle in his new penthouse. Theirs was a mutual attraction, somehow of all the random hook-ups Luke had over time Sierra had a lasting impression; she was smart, funny and practical. They maintain a causal long-term relationship but never confronting their true feelings for each other. Things get serious when Sierra shows up on his doorstep with a moving van but neither of them was prepared for what happens over the thanksgiving dinner.
Short and cute! Loved this story. Jenni Moen does know how to make you go weak at the knees for men in blue uniform.

I received a copy of the story 'Lifeline' (one of 25 romance stories in the Bleed Blue 69 anthology) to read before publication and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Olivia is an art curator, in charge of installations in New York parks, one of which is work by an artist called Paolo. Someone, however, has taken exception to Paolo's installation and has tampered with the work and left a written threat. Because of that Detective Lucian Foster has been called in to investigate.
As soon as Olivia meets the detective she feels an instant attraction to the good-looking and sexy police officer, and thankfully, the feeling is mutual. I won't reveal what happens between them, but let's just say that Olivia finds herself with his handcuffs firmly around her wrists - and it makes her feel very hot indeed.
The story is pacy and sexy and well worth a read, and not only that, but sales of this anthology are for a very good cause. Oh, and that detective can use his handcuffs on me anytime!
What an amazing glimpse into a day in the life of a heroic job and one HOT cop!!! I was lucky enough to get a tease of a chapter by the talented, radiant Vanessa Marie. "Recipe For Disaster" was just what I needed to get in the "mood" for the holidays!!! Jake is a dedicated cop and as a dog lover his faithful partner Ami melted my heart. This story goes beyond a respect for this line of work but deeper in the stressful lives couples can lead. It reminded me that love isn't always easy but its always worth it. I can't wait to read the other chapters and see what these other amazing authors have in store.
A multi-author charity collaboration of stories about the officers from one sexy police station, Precinct 69!
Some of these short stories are just plain sweet, some are smoking hot, and some will leave you wanting more, but they all have one thing in common...HOT cops!
Here's a few quick reviews of just some of the stories:
Lifeline by Alexis Alvarez had a perfect combination of humour and hot sex. Rubber chickens, toilets, art, handcuffs and red rope. Sound good? I loved it!
The Mistletoe Secret by Madison Street had me so intrigued that I wasn't ready for it to be over. Where's the rest of the story? Please please, I need more!!
An Eve to Remember by Brandy L Rivers is everything you'd want in a full length book wrapped up in a quick read package. Grab a fan for this one because it's all kinds of steamy!
Undercover by Rebecca Brooke left me needing more, although it has a Happy For Now ending, it would be great to read more of this couple's story.
Murphy's Law by Josie Bordeaux is a story of love despite the odds. When everything that could go wrong does, a little compromise goes a long way!
Looking for Trouble by Alexis Noelle had me flipping pages, completely captivated by this storyline, and then BAM, it ended. There better be more...somewhere...soon!
I volunteered to read a copy of My Beating Heart by Lisa Edward. I received no form of payment. This is my thoughts and only my thoughts
This is one of several short stories in this Anthology.
Liam is a police officer. His partner is a K9 named Barney.
Cassie is a single Mom who lives next door to Liam.
I loved this short story and I look forward to reading the full Length book when Lisa releases it. There is a killer on the loose and he singles out women with easy access to their house. I want a Liam in my life. He is a hero in true sense. A cop who wants to protect his community.
This is the first by this author I have read and she has made me want more.
I look forward to reading all the other stories in the Anthology when it releases on Dec. 6th
Please note: this is a review of "Rock N Roll" by Kacey Shea for Bleed Blue 69
Gabi Martinez is working the worst night of her police career, New Years Eve in Times Square, when security detail causes her to cross paths with arrogant, bad boy rocker, Austin Banks, of the famed, Three Ugly Guys. Their one night encounter left me wanting more of Gabi and Austin! I'm hoping Author Kacey Shea will give us more of their story. It was nice to hope! I volunteered to give an honest review for an advance reader copy of Rock N Roll.
I read Lisa's book "My Beating Heart" and if the rest of the stories are as entertaining then this collection is a winner. With all proceeds going to a good cause it is regardless. I enjoyed this short tale of the cop and his K9 partner, the promise of a happy ending in love. He rescued the damsel in distress and saved the day. I look forward to the release of this set to read the rest.
I have only read Off Duty as an ARC and promised to leave a review! Kristen knocks it out of the park on this one. We finally get a peek into Whistler and McBee's lives which was awesome. It certainly got a bit steamy up in there! I'll have to make sure to read the rest of Bleed Blue 69.
I have read 2 stories so far and didn't want to wait to post my review. The two I read are partners an I loved both these stories. They blended really well to me. If you want to know how they get their nicknames-you got to read these great stories.
1. Lucky Plus One by M.Stratton- Suzee is finally free. I mean kind of a heartless way to become free but none the less free. So what does she do? She decides to decorate for the Christmas holiday like she wants. Here's to a new Suzee -doing things she wouldn't do in the past.First stop, Christmas Tree lot. Tom "Lucky" and his partner Liam "Frosty" are detectives in Precinct 69 in New York. They are in the middle of letting a suspect think he got away when something or someone catches his eye. Lucky sees a small redhead either hugging a Christmas tree or maybe she is trying to move it. Curiosity gets the better of him and he goes to see if he can help, I mean he is a civil servant and it is his duty. After scaring the beegezus out of Suzee, Lucky offers to help. Suzee thinks Lucky works at the lot and thanks him for helping her get the tree back to her place. This isn't what she does. But it seems "luck" was on her side that he was there. Second stop-Going to a new restaurant- a 50's style diner called Gemini. Little does Suzee know this is a local hangout for Precinct 69. So who does she run into- Lucky. Lucky can't quit thinking of the cute redhead he has decided to call "Princess Suzee" . After the second run in, Lucky feels he might be the "lucky" one and decides to extend an offer for Suzee to come see his band- Lucky Plus One. If Lucky feels he has found his princess, does Suzee feel the same and found her prince?
2. Frostbite by Chelle C. Craze-Liam "Frosty" Snow is one cool cop. He is partnered with Lucky at Precinct 69. They are homicide detectives & as stressful as their job is, they love to give each other crap. Lucky finds his next dig-Letha Kennedy, a fellow detective.
What Lucky doesn't know is the friendship that Frosty & Letha have developed. They work together, they live in the same apartment complex.
"Once you share something as personal as death with someone, you're never fully yourself again. A part of each of you will always remain entangled in that dark moment. Victim #7 was both of our numbers, I was certain of it."
Letha- Apart from Liam, everyone else on the force thought I was a bitch, including my temporary partner. But I was more of a loner than a bitch, but I didn't correct them.
Can two different people find each other in the darkness of death? Can they be more than friends? Find out in Frostbite.
I LOVED the whole story. It held my interest the entire story. I can't wait to read the other Bleed Blue stories.
I was given a copy of the story Lifeline by Alexis Alvarez before publication and enjoyed this sexy take on the New York Police Department. As a former New Yorker, an art lover, and a fan of the television show “Seinfeld” I loved the author’s view of the city’s police department. Alvarez easily captures the flavor of the big city; its unique humor, its constant activity, and the wide range of nationalities that comprise the metropolis. Olivia Terranova is a fiery Latina museum curator and an artist who is working with the Whitney Museum on a project involving the art of Paolo which is on public display. The piece, titled Festivus Pole: A Master’s Interpretation, has been vandalized and Detective Lucian Foster has been called in to investigate. As soon as Olivia and Lucian set eyes on one another a ripple of electricity flows between them. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen between these two. While the story is essentially about Livvie and Luc, the under story of the threat against Paolo and his unconventional art is great too. Who is defacing his art and how far will that person go to make his point? Alvarez manages to develop her characters and present a tight plot in this short story; not an easy feat. She gives her reader the flavor of New York City, the intensity of relationships that grow quickly in the busy city, and response of a police force that has seen everything from the serious to the ridiculous treating all with a determination to solve the crime and catch the bad guy. If Lifeline is an indication of the rest of the stories in the Bleed Blue 69 I can hardly wait to dive in!
I was lucky enough to read 2 stories from the Bleed Blue 69 collection beforehand: The Roommate Pact by Glenna Maynard and A Recipe for Disaster by Vanessa Marie. I loved them both!
The Roommate Pact features Devlyn, an officer in the Elite Emergency Services Unit, and his friend, Fiona. Fiona and Dev have been friends since they were in college, and one time, they were more than friends. Now, though, she needs help and his solution is to have her move into his apartment while she gets back on her feet. That's all fine and good, but first, there have to be some boundaries set so things don't go south like they did the one time they attempted to take their friendship further. This is a great teaser for what's to come, and I can't wait to read the full length story when it's released!
A Recipe for Disaster features Jake and Tessa, newlyweds. They're trying to strike a balance between his job as a K9 officer for the NYPD, and their home life. In the start, Jake is called to track a killer with his canine partner, Ami, on Thanksgiving. Tessa doesn't take kindly to him leaving on Thanksgiving, and she tries to get him to stay. Hours later, when Jake and Ami come home, Tessa's waiting with an apology for her outburst earlier. Jake knows he has to do something, too, to make it up to her, and his apology by way of cooking her a replacement Thanksgiving dinner is a great idea, even though Ami might have plans of eating that dinner himself. I really like Jake and Tessa and they have some serious chemistry, but the real star of this story is Ami, Jake's dog. He's got personality to spare!
I received an ARC of The Roommate Pack by Glenna Maynard in exchange for an honest review (it is one of 25 romance stories in the Bleed Blue 69 anthology) to read before publication. All I can say is WOW !! This ARC is just a short story and the full length novel will be released sometime in 2017. I honestly cannot wait for it to come out. It grabbed my attention from the first word and when I got to the last word my only thought was "How will I ever wait to find out how it ends" !! This is the first book I have read by this author and I can assure you it will not be my last. I am for sure going to be buying this book once it is release. It is definitely a 5 star read. I would recommend it for sure.
I received an ARC of Looking for Trouble by Alexis Noelle in exchange for an honest review (it is one of 25 romance stories in the Bleed Blue 69 anthology) to read before publication. All I can say is WOW!! This ARC is also just a short story and the full length novel which will be released sometime in 2017. This book also grabbed my attention from the very beginning and I can only imagine what Zoe has waiting for her at home. It never gave it away. I definitely cannot wait to find out how this book ends either. It left me hanging. I am for sure going to be buying this book when it is released in the full length. It is definitely 5 stars. I would recommend it for sure.
I had the honor of reading the story that was written by Kristen Hope Mazzola called Off Duty, this short story includes some characters from several of Kristen previous books, which is always fun to read when they make cameo appearances.
This short story is about two police partners, Jessica and Sean, the attraction is evident between them but due to the fact that are partners they have never acted on it, but one night while on patrol at a concert of their favorite band, all bets are off.
Loved this short story and would love to read more about Sean and Jessica.
The second story that I read in this book was written by the wonderful Jenni Moen and is called Reality Calls, this features Scott's (from the book Jenni just released Black Widow) Luke and Sierra (the real estate manager that Luke hooked up with in the book Black Widow). Sierra is coming to spend Thanksgiving with Luke and his family and meet them for the first time since they started their long distance relationship, but neither Luke nor Sierra are prepared for what will happen this Thanksgiving weekend. This was a fun fast read and I'm really hoping that the author with give Luke and Sierra their own full book.
A multi-author charity collaboration with stories about the officers from one sexy police station, Precinct 69!
Some of these short stories are just plain sweet, some are smoking hot, and some will leave you wanting more, but they all have one thing in common...HOT cops!

Unexpected Bargain by Rochelle Paige This read left you wanting more. Hopefully the author will run with it and give us more. It was a cute and fun few chapters. Can't wait to see what might develop with the characters.
Rock n Roll by Kacey Shea Yep that was truly awesome. Kacey always brings us the stories that have us craving more, and with this little tease we get from this short story I truly see more chapters coming our way. Gabi and Austin seem so perfect and the set up that brings you into their world had you melting. Hope we get more soon!
I received a copy of the story "Reality Calls" by Jenni Moen, one of 25 romance stories in the Bleed Blue 69 anthology, and I absolutely loved it!
This is a story about Luke and Sierra. We were introduced to both of them in Jenni's book Black Widow, which happens to be a fantastic read!
The connection between Luke and Sierra is unavoidable and passionate from the start. Luke lives in NYC and Sierra lives in Chicago, but they keep the long distance relationship going strong. Sierra ventures to NYC for the Thanksgiving holiday, but has more than turkey in mind. Someone shows up from Luke's past to put their relationship to the test. Can they make this work? Will Sierra have the strength to forget about Luke's wild past and move forward with their relationship?
I hope we get to continue the journey with Luke and Sierra!
I received an ARC of Life Line by Alexis Alvarez (a story in this anthology) in exchange for an honest review.
This story about an NYPD detective and an artist is sizzling hot. I loved the banter between these two. Alvarez really captures a bit of the NY experience in the feel of this story. The chemistry between the characters is palpable, and they are so sexy... my heart was definitely racing. I'm not sure how she sucked me so quickly with this short story, but I was hooked.
I cannot wait to read more stories from other great authors when the book is released. An easy way to support a great charity, the proceeds from this compilation will go to the C.O.P.S. Foundation to support the families of fallen officers.
More! I need more!!! Gabi and Austin, ack, I kind of love them! The sexual tension and the chemistry between those 2...you could feel it coming off the pages. What started out on kind of a rocky note ended on such a high, but it left me panting for more, more, more!
I love when I get completely sucked in by a story and characters, in such a short amount of time- and that's what Kacey did to me with Rock N Roll. Gabi and Austin wormed their way into my head and heart. But it makes me sad too, because when a story is that good, when characters grab hold of me like these 2 did, I want to spend ALL THE TIME with them!
I read a ARC of Rock and Roll by Kacey Shea. I can't wait to see what happens next with Gabi and Austin. I hate that it was short but it was a good story. Love that she had the guys of Three Ugly Guys in it.
I recieved an arc of The Roommate Pact by Glenna Maynard and now I can't wait till the complete novel comes out next year! If the rest of this anthology is anything like Ms. Maynard's story this will be an awesome book! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I received an ARC of Recipe for Disaster. Jake and Ami are a trip. The bedroom scene and dinner table are priceless. Jake talks to Tess to try and make her see things from his pov. Great Book
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have always loved Alexis's “tie me up and spank me” books, so when I had a chance to crack open a short story by Alexis, I was ready and willing! Alexis takes us to the big apple to investigate a crime... plus meet the sexiest detective and museum curator who is interested in more than just standing back and observing her surroundings. Olivia and Luc know how to get down and dirty and are a flame that ignites immediately and burns bright!
Olivia Terranova is in the midst of dealing with a difficult artist and a crime against his art. When the most beautiful and fascinating detective is on the scene to investigate, she soon finds herself fantasizing about everything he could do to her with his body, lips, and handcuffs. It isn't very long before she finds out exactly how talented Luc is in all the ways that count. Olivia had me captivated with her fascination with Luc and her quick wit and sense of humor. She is funny and a little on the sassy side...just how I like my heroines!
Detective Lucian Foster spends his days serving and protecting the public and his nights dominating and living out his kinky fantasies. When he meets Livvie, he knows right away that he can't resist her curiosity and willingness to submit to him and let him quench her darker desires. All I can say about this firm handed, dirty talking hero is read me my rights, cuff me, and take me away Luc because I am all yours!
Alexis Alvarez delivers a scorching, sexy, short that will have your desires tied up in knots and leave you breathless over a hottie dressed in blue. I highly recommend Lifeline for a read that is short on time but leaves both the reader and heroine with flushed cheeks, short of breath, and a racing heart. Alexis never ceases to amaze me with her writing prowess whether it is a seductive full length story or a racy novella. Her stories bring decadent fantasies to life and leave the reader with images of submissive heroines with red bottoms and dominating, delicious alphas. Her humor always shines through right along with the jolts of pleasure that keep you enthralled and ready for more!
