Haydn Middleton was born in Reading and studied History at Oxford, where he now lives. He has worked in advertising and publishing, lectured in British myth and legend, and written a dozen works of fiction and non-fiction.

This was a very nice introduction to William Shakespeare for young children, despite the fact that any biography of Shakespeare has to contain a certain amount of speculation since so little is actually know about his life. The illustrations are well done and the book is engaging.

This is a exciting look into the life and times of William Shakespeare and a perfect introduction to the famous playwright for elementary/middle school students. The information about the Globe Theater alone was fascinating and caused me to order numerous additional books from the public library.
