"Oh you sweet thing. Tonight, let me show you what it means to be mine."
Skye
On my twenty-first birthday, I did a dangerous thing. Something so reckless and wild it changed the way I think of myself. The only person who knows the whole story is a man with a gun and a thunderstorm in his eyes. A man I never thought I’d see again outside of my wildest fantasies and dirtiest daydreams. Now, three years later, I see him walking down the street in my hometown like he belongs here. I need to find him. I need to talk to him. I never even found out his name.
Ethan
I’m not a bad man, but I’ve done bad things. Three years ago, I made a choice that changed the course of my life. A choice that made me drop everything and run. A choice with only one witness, a girl in a black dress and red f*ck me heels. A girl so beautiful, no woman has lived up to her since. When I see her again three years later, I know I should keep on walking. Danger is following me and I’d be a fool to lead it to her.
Turns out I’m a selfish bastard because nothing on earth could make me walk away without her.
Adorable story of a troubled ex Hitman and a lonely woman that steps out of character and takes a walk on the wild side. The plot is realistic, moves smoothly and captures one's attention from the beginning. Ethan's past was a huge burden for Skye to overcome but then someone from that past appeared, threatened the growing happiness between them and brought clarity as to the real important facts about life and living. Great story of how a dark path can be changed to a more fulfilling one of light, love, joy and peace. I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review. I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely tale. Five stars.
This is my 2nd book by this author and just another reason while I will continue to read book by this author. In this one our H is Ethan and our h is Skye.
For Skye's 21st birthday, she travels to LA to see her best friend Ali. When she goes outside to get some air and smoke, she is shocked to see a man deeper in the alley watching a man run away from him. What shocks her the most is the fact he has a gun pointed at the man. With the alcoholic courage and pure lust, she can't look away from the man with the gun. There's a dirty hook up against the wall and then the man disappears.
3 years later, Skye is still in Wistful, Wyoming. Her best friend, Ali has moved back home and Skye is working for her. She has never forgotten the man with the gun from her 21st birthday and is shocked when she sees him walking by. She ends up finding him in a store, puts her number and address in his phone and leaves.
Ethan is running from his past and ends up in Wistful, Wyoming. A place that the redhead, that has never left his mind, mention was home 3 years ago. He is easily shocked when they see each other. He assumed that she would still be in LA and never thought they would cross paths again. When she runs into him at a store, she knows its him and he doesn't lie. She places her name, number and address in his phone.
After 3 years, Ethan has never forgot Skye LaRue. He ran to a place she mentioned was home, lives in a cabin and off the land for everything that he can. After seeing and being with Skye again, he hopes that God doesn't realize a bad man is getting good things. Skye has also never forgotten Ethan. No one else has ever came close and he's still the only guy she has ever been with. Skye is a good girl but Ethan is a man hiding and always with a gun. What is he running from?
This was a good 2nd book from this author. I didn't love it as much as the last one but there was unanswered questions for me. Mostly about Ali getting tied up with Joe Sylvio. I would really enjoy a book about Ali and what happen with her in La and ending with her finding a happily ever after. All in all, I enjoyed this book.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was a great story about one's past coming back to haunt you in the best and worst ways. An experience can leave such an impression on us that we dare not try it with anyone else. Deciding to change your path in life usually comes with some sort of consequences. It's all of this that brings gs Ali and Ethan together. I loved it.
Sorry but pure garbage. She is passive and dumb for chasing an man who she has no business chasing... didn't like him either. Then in the end they live happily ever after. 🙄

This book drew me in immediately; it was hot and sexy from the start! Skye is in LA to visit her best friend and they go to a popular club to celebrate Skye's 21st birthday LA style. She decides to go outside to cool off and have a cigarette and that's when everything changes for her. Skye sees two men in the alley and one of them has a gun pointed at the other man's back as he runs away. She should be afraid and run in the other direction but instead she is drawn to the mysterious man holding the gun....Ethan. He tries to tell her she should leave but she can't help herself; she wants Ethan. Skye sees Ethan as a powerful sexy alpha male and she wants to know what it feels like to be taken by someone like him. Skye & Ethan hook up in the alley; it is raw and primal and everything she could have ever hoped for. Skye returns to Wyoming but she never forgets that night and how Ethan made her feel.
Ethan has done a lot of things that he isn't proud of but everything changed that night in the alley when he didn't carry out the job he was given. Now he is on the run with a price on his head. Since hooking up with Skye he has thought about her a lot, which is strange because he has never been affected that way by anyone.
Fast forward 3 years and Skye & Ethan's paths cross again and the chemistry between them is hotter than before. Their need for each other is palpable and neither can control their darkest desires. But how is this going to work with Ethan on the run? Will they be able to make their relationship work or will Ethan's past destroy what they have?
I really enjoyed this 2nd book by Wren Williams and would definitely recommend it. I look forward to reading more from her! I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review and originally posted this on another website on October 5, 2016.
This sounded like it would be a short, sweet and erotic story. Unfortunately it was not.
I think if I had been reading this rather than listening on audible I would not have finished it, luckily it was free!
Spoilers ***
The instant attraction was not really explained, I did not feel they had any reasons to like / remember each other for such a long time. They barely spoke, there was no witty repartee, and there were lots of repeated sentiments and realisations, again with not reasons in the story to show why they fell in love. They just meet briefly, fucked and then decided 3 years later they were soulmates. I was hoping that the side story of the danger may add something more to the narrative but it was barely a blip and easily resolved.
This could be a bit more forgivable if the sex scenes where more raunchy but they were also disappointing, no tension was built between the two, no believable drama.
If I’m expected to believe the sec was mind blowing there needs to be a bit more detail as to why. 10/10 would not recommend. Sorry

I almost rated this book 3 stars but felt slightly mean. The story of Ethan & Sky was enjoyable. The dark and mysterious history of Ethan permeating the story. The reader waiting to see what the impact would be. While it took a while to unveil I think the reader is able to interpret the clues and know what sort of history Ethan had. Sky and Ethan' chance encounter years ago in a back alley fuelled this story. The force of their attraction then and now still sizzles. There was never another for either one of them and they are good for each other. Queue drama and betrayal and quite possibly the most naive and unprobing police force and the scene is set for this couple. The creaking floor board of Nana on the front porch featuring in the end of this book brings home that the past will always lead us to where we need to be and shows us the way to our future. With that I made this a 4 star review. Really enjoyable book.
Short, insta-lust and lack of chemistry. It lacked dept and explanation. We get that the H was an assassin and all we got was a mini back story of why he started. We didn’t get why he ran into hiding and what he was gonna do about it. He was just there falling inlove after one night 3 years later. Then we have the heroine, if repetitive was a person it would be her. She asked the same damn questions all the time and still was puzzled. Like how?? Anyways some bad guy showed up and again we have no clue or reason why but he is just there! Gunfire was exchanged bad guy killed and cops showed up. Even the cops didn’t behave as if they were police. Everything was resolved fast and smooth… then we have a happy ending with the couple in the mountains with fifty eleven kids…….. this was a waste of precious time!
No Spoilers. Short but pleasant and it wrapped up nicely at the end. It’s not compelling enough to have wanted it to be any longer to be honest but it scratched the itch for a steamy romance. I am short of credits on my audible and this was free with membership. Personally I think audible should include anything under 8 hours free with membership. This was bad boy turns good, a ex hitman called Ethan meets innocent inexperienced young woman who loves to read steamy romance. Ethan is not just handy with a gun but an axe too and he knows how to survive out in the wild. So if that’s your thing I would recommend this read. Only 100 pages. 3 stars because it didn’t grip me or blow me away but I liked the characters and that was enough.
On my twenty-first birthday, I did a dangerous thing. Something so reckless and wild it changed the way I think of myself. The only person who knows the whole story is a man with a gun and a thunderstorm in his eyes. So I was a little put off with her giving it up to a total stranger in an alley within the first 20 seconds of the book, although she did state later in the book that it was a bad idea. The sex was hot, the characters were a little empty for me, and the story line what little there was of it was lost in the shortness of this story, it was crammed into a very short time. If you like reading books on speed then this one is for you.
This story was okay. I felt like the author could've done better, maybe dug deeper with this. . I felt like the female lead character was entirely too naive. I expected more of a confrontation with the best friend and the antagonist so the climax of the story which was at the end of the book was a little anti climactic. Like, the author doesn't build you up so the way to the peak of the mountain, we're just barely leaving the base and then it's over. And considering the ideas that were chosen for this book, there are so many different ways this could've gone.. it could've gone dark, could've gone comedic but it was just sex with a flat plot. I have three stars for the effort.
Rating: 4 ✩'s Title: Woodsman: A Bad Boy Romance Series: Stand Alone Author: Abby Brooks and Wren Williams Genre: Bad Boy Romance Published: Oct 2, 2016 Format: E-Book
➵aaaaaaaaa➵ Main Character’s Descriptions: Skye is a small-town girl from Wistful, Wyoming Ethan is a man on the run or in hiding actually ➵aaaaaaaaa➵ Summary Paragraph: Ethan and Skye have a one night stand outside the Tantra Nightclub on LA while Skye is enjoying her 21st birthday. Three years later Skye swears she sees him in her small hometown of Wistful, Wyoming. She is not wrong about that Ethan has moved to a cabin in the woods near Wistful but he is in hiding since the night they had their one-nighter and he allowed her to live instead of killing her for witnessing what she did.
"I voluntarily reviewed a Courtesy Advanced Reader Copy of this book." ➵aaaaaaaaa➵ What I liked or Didn’t like: Loved the descriptive writing of these authors and loved the storyline altogether.
Kindle Unlimited with free narration = yes please!
This is was a quick and entertaining story, perfect to listen to while you're doing some house work. The story of the hitman with a conscience and the naïve virgin was entertaining. The chemistry between the characters was good, definitely did not see the climatic situation happening. I loved the HEA epilog, that just made everything in life seem perfect.
I enjoyed this story of strangers finding each other for one night and years later meeting up again. Skye celebrating her birthday goes out for some air and runs Ethan a man holding a gun. They have a quick encounter and leave a strangers. Years later the run into each other only to be strongly drawn back to each other and deal with Ethan's past and now Skye future with him. I loved how this book ended!
A quick read included with Audiable. Instalust to instalove to forever love with some bad guys and live stock thrown in for flavour. Unfortunately, nothing really stands out and it was just a bit bland. So if “Wham, bam, I’d like to bang you into forever” is what you’re craving, I’d recommend ANY book under 3h in the Alexa Riley catalog of naughtiness. They are the true Queens of Quirky Quickies with Audacious Alphas!!
What did I just read? I almost put it down after the opening scene. Not sure why I didn't. Skye is naive, bordering on too stupid to live. I gagged every time Ethan called her Sweet Stuff. I ended up sort-of coming to grips with them towards the end, hence the second star, but there isn't much here to redeem this book. I don't know what else to say. It was just odd.
This book is definitely fast paced. I thought the beginning was a little out there. I mean what virgin wants to lose their virginity to a complete stranger after he was going to unalive someone? But I definitely loved Skye and Ethan's story. I love that the author continued their story at the end so you didn't wonder what more became of their lives.
I can’t believe I have not read this book before! Loved the story and the characters! Abby Brooks does not let you down with her books and this one is not an exception!! Phenomenal good read!!
The characters are developed beautifully. Ethan and Skye have an instant connection, part thinking never to see one another again, then fate intervenes. The storyline pulls readers in. The plot lines are well constructed. All-in-all it’s a compelling, short read.
I didn't really finish it I scroll through it after the first sexual encounter just kind of repulsed me. For a virgin to lose her virginity in an alley with a stranger was just a bit of a stretch. The whole book was kind of silly.
