Still a 5 star rating for this re-read because ... crazy Russians 💖

What a fantastic finish to what has become one of my favourite series. I'm no fan of drawn out stories over several books, this series is the exception, it's just that good. I've loved every minute I spent with Kaz and Violet. The twists and turns, the suspense, the anxiety I was experiencing - so much so my stomach was in knots at times and I couldn't read fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. I just knew that they had to make it after all they had gone through.

5+ stars for a truly exceptional series.

It’s safe to say I’ve really enjoyed this series. It’s also safe to say this was my least favourite of the three. In fact at times I felt my attention wandering.

It all went as expected. But whereas the first book had the attraction, passion and fire between Kat and Violet. The second had the intriguing Boykovs and the mysterious Alfie. This one just ... I don’t know. Honestly I’m gutted that I didn’t love this as much as the first one.

But I have my fingers firmly crossed that we’ll be getting more. I’d love to start with Kolya and Maya.

5 KAZ STARS

Wow, what an intense, hair-raising finale to Kaz and Violet's story. Most of all, I'm going to miss Kaz. He's one hot, intense and demanding Russian!

This one started right where we left off with the second book and my heart was in my hands. I was a serious mess, much like Violet, as we awaited Kaz's fate.

This was a highly explosive finale. One wild ride of the forbidden love between an Italian Mafia Princess and a Bratva Prince. I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment in this alluring, sexy and fiercely dangerous story. Bethany has given me several off-the-charts book boyfriends from the dark side of the Mafia but Kaz, the creation of this formidable duo, is over-the-top intense. This man is brooding, demanding, dangerous and fucking sexy!

And Violet, she's really grown from the naive princess into a strong women. And together with Kaz, they were such a highly emotional and memorable couple. I loved every scene with these two. Whether it was intense, dangerous, sexy, sad or funny.

"They loved the best when they were hard, rough, and raw."

Bethany and London, I hope there's more from you two. Perhaps the Russian boys from Chicago? Please, please!

" Violet era su sol. "

4 Estrellas!!

The conclusion of Violet and Kaz's turmulous love story followed by the immediate bloodshed in their families' war

revenge doesn't ask any questions, it consumes you and devours you, it makes you harden and little pieces inside of you die along with it...

beside that, IT turned them both into two people who stood beside each other and existed for each other, protecting one another even if it went against everything they were born and raised into.

Some laws were meant to be re-writen, and their love was one of them.
When she turned smiling eyes to him,
he remembered what had made him fall in love with her in the first place.

Violet was his sun.

"Meet Me Half Way"

In a lifetime
Made of memories
I believe
In destiny

Every moment returns again in time
When I've got the future on my mind
Know that you'll be the only one

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life.

In a lifetime
There is only love
Reaching for the lonely one

We are stronger when we are given love
When we put emotions on the line
Know that we are the timeless ones

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Out where the world belongs
To only you and I

Meet me halfway
Across the sky
Make this a new beginning of another life...

by Kenny Loggins

I have to admit that there were parts in this third and final installment of Seasons of Betrayal that made me shrug my shoulder in indifference and I had a feeling that there was nothing revolutionary in the storyline itself, then there were moments that was passionate and vulnerable and so palpable that made me vivid as well...and yet again I had a constant feeling that there was something missing, someting that will made me rememeber every single emotional twist in my gut...

but all I got was the notion that Violet and Kaz were the product of this embedded cruel, merciless life, being born into it and brought up to follow the very same code, made them, especially Kaz, the very same cruel, merciless, murderous frame of being, he fought AGAINST, no matter the "reason" he fought FOR.

And that notion left somewhat unsatisfactory taste as an aftermath, failing to visualize them both absolute winners in the end. Cause they were not, they only wore a different shade of the blooded skin.

*ARC received from author as part of blog tour*

I couldn't have been more eager enough to get to this knowing how bk 2 ended...

This picks up right from that point, oh boy! Kaz of course had to make it but then he had to recover from that fatal incident. And as he recovered, it wasn't as if the world paused on his behalf. Of course not! So the plan was he recovers, gets rid of people once and for all, settle things then he and Violet can finally live the life they want. Simple, right? Of course not!

There was so much happening in this last book. The backlash from every action ping pong'ed between Kaz and the other major players. And so much blood shed, oy! It's a lifestyle not meant for the weak of hearts, that's for sure.

And Violet understood that. Violet had to make sacrifices for the good of her loved ones. To put herself in that position took strength. And just as Violet made sacrifices, it meant just as a sacrifice for Kaz. Kaz had so much warring emotions inside, it was difficult to see him suffer emotionally that way. But luckily for these 2, their love could survive it. Ironic at the same time as it's the same love that put them in the position they found themselves in. And with that love comes that passionate heat. Man, talk about best angry sex! *g*

The path to their HEA was definitely not an easy pavement but once they got to it, it's well deserved. Whew!

OH FUCK!!!

I can't believe this series is over. The sex and violence continues in this third and final book.

Kaz and Violet are still fighting their fathers so that they could be together.

The bloodshed.... I loved it.

My only issue:
The conflict towards the end seemed a little unnecessary. I wish the characters just could have agreed to disagree.

My thoughts on this series:
I have nothing to complain about on the first book. It got me hooked. The forbidden romance gave me all the feels. But the conflict and issues seemed irrational as the story continued in books 2 and 3. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the series. I just wished the story contained something more logical.

I must say that this last book in the trilogy was a wild ride. There were twists and turns laced in brutality all in the name of revenge. The loved between Violet, the Italian Princess and Kazimir, the Russian Prince, was fierce and consuming. Being together was not an option and in order to be together, the war between the families had to be vicious and bloodthirsty.

I will say that there were moments that slightly frustrated me. Some actions and consequences didn’t add up for me when dealing with mafia families. I will say that I would have loved a longer epilogue telling me about some of the others characters that played a big role in Kaz and Violet’s HEA. But overall, I really loved Kaz and Violet’s forbidden love.

This was book 3 in the "Seasons of Betrayal" series. This book picks up where book 2 left off Kaz is left for dead by his father and him fighting for his life. These two had an uphill battle neither one of there father's wants them to be together and they will stop at nothing to keep them apart. Violet finds out she is pregnant. This was a good read Kaz will do anything to keep her safe. When he goes after his father Kaz returns her to get father. I didn't like her mother she was jealous of her own daughter. Alberto her father is trying to marry her off to someone else who is willing to help her. I liked that Violet was coming into her own and standing up for herself like pulling a gun in her father. Kaz dropped a lot of bodies to keep his family safe. I also felt that Kaz's mother was wrong she was upset about what he did but she said nothing his father trying to kill him. This was a good read that was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I really want to read about Kaz's brother Rus and his love life.

This review is for the entire series (3 books). I liked the story and the couple - the whole Romeo and Juliet, different sides of tracks theme. The story was entertaining and pretty hot. There were some aspects I didn’t love, like the fact it seemed everyone betrayed each other except the siblings of the hero, on one hand I am glad the authors showed that most families are complicated but they also made it so there was little loyalty to family or their mob family with a few exceptions.

I liked the story despite those issues and will try other books by this author duo (I know I have read them both as separate authors as well - I find the dual author thing kind of strange but it didn’t seem to affect these books).

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

The final novel in the Seasons of Betrayal series and the conclusion to one of my favorite mafia romances to date. Bethany-Kris and London Miller waste no time in thrusting the reader back into the bloodshed, the deceit, the heavy-weighted threats, the all-encompassing fear, and the strongest love story that Kaz and Violet share as husband and wife. Picking up right where Where the Snow Falls left of we see Kaz struggling to make it out alive and Violet becoming stronger and more resolute in her decision than we had ever seen before. The family battle has grown larger, the hatred between them affecting everyone around them. The lies they must tell and the choices they must make are devastating.

"-we have to take it one thing at a time, minute by minute."
Not even day by day, Violet through to herself. No. Minute by minute.

Oh my goodness, I cannot say enough good things about how quickly Bethany-Kris and London Miller are able to pull readers into the story. It was like no time had past since I finished the previous book, because the moment I started reading page one my heart rate sped up and I was worrying my lip wanting to know what could possibly happen next. Kaz has grown ruthless, a darker version of himself, and Violet, my gosh I've grown to love that girl and her backbone. The change in these characters made me enjoy this book even more, because they seemed to finally grow up and recognize that the actions they took to be together could only end in death, their own or others'. Toss in the parents and the siblings, as well as the several other supporting characters, and you have a complex story that weaves around, never quite giving away who would shoot a gun next. Every character was phenomenal in this final novel, the complexities each presented far more present than the previous releases. I couldn't have predicted some of the betrayals and I loved the twists mixed in, because each character is so passionate about what they wanted to see happen.

The relief was sweet.
Like candy melting in her mouth.
Like love in her fucking heart.
Like sun on her face.

Romeo and Juliet have nothing on the love that Kaz and Violet share for one another. Where the Wind Whispers features the war these two have causes by their romance. It was an intense, emotional read, but I couldn't have asked for a better conclusion to this series. Nothing is simple about this book, the sacrifices too large to be comfortable, and with darkness at every turn, I feel like it is one of the most believable organized crime series I have read in a long time and I am sad to see the Russian-Italian couple go.

A strange pride curled in his chest, warming him for the moment. How much she had changed, he knew. How amazing she could be, he mused.

omg I literally vibrated with excitement when I got confirmation that the ARC had been sent and this book was so fucking awesome!! My review will come out closer to the review date, but I feel blessed to have found this series!
I've finished and am still vibrating with excitement FYI

ETA:

Do you ever know a series is going to have a happy ending (no Pyrrhic victories here!) but the authors have backed themselves into such an awful corner and left your beloved characters in such a poor state you're terrified to go back?

Cos that's where Where The Snow Falls left me. I COULD NOT believe what my own eyes were reading and I just knew Kaz had to be okay. When I got the email confirming my ARC had been sent I honestly couldn't stay still as I was so excited and then I devoured this book. A weird thing to pick up on: the pacing was really well thought out, it felt to me like they'd written the books in Acts then put it together and I loved it.

Okay, back to the story - Kaz has been left for dead and Violet has realised her uterus may have slightly betrayed her in the best way. We basically pick up where we left and we get to witness the recovery process as well as the joys of watching good scheming come together. Kaz's most dangerous scheme is part of what makes this book feel like two equally amazing different Acts and it honestly had my heart beating double time the entire time I was going through it.

Act two is less damaging for the heart in terms of speed, but it was heavy. Violet and Kaz are really feeling the stress and the decisions that they have to make weighed down on me because it was looking like such a lose/lose situation. There's a shocking moment involving Kaz, Violet, Ruslan and two others and I couldn't believe the authors went there, even after everything else, they had to let us know they weren't playing around!

I'm so thankful to have read a 5 star series from these two wonderful ladies, I already know there's a spin off with the Russians but I think I might have sensed a potential spin off with a certain Italian? You know where my email is if you want t confirm or deny ;)

Side note: I have loved the covers of this series so much

The issues mentioned in my review of book 2 continue in book 3.

And again the authors sabotaged the main characters brilliantly.
By using the side-characters pointing out every way the main characters miserably fail. That would not be that much of an issue, if in addition the characters would develop and learn, but they just don't.

Heroine:
..."I’m not so fragile that I don’t understand the things happening around me,” she told him quietly. “Don’t ever treat me like I am, Kaz.” ...

Well, at more than several incidents she proofs that statement wrong.
Not only can't she put two and two together, which apparently isn't a problem for the reader. But she acts like a deer in the headlights when in a precarious situation, whiny and fragile.
And still she grew up surrounded by mafia men her whole life and chose a mafia man for a husband. Just WOW.

Hero:
The side-character Alfie points out on many occasions what i as a reader thought myself over and over. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. How often the main hero "fucks-up". It just lessens the attractiveness of the character and it is not supported by growth. Kazs hypocrite and not leader worthy behavior continues.

Even i would be a better mafia leader, lol.

..."It was a shipping yard, Kaz realized as they drew nearer, and he could just see the shipping containers on the other side of the fence." ...

Well you go on a mission to eliminate your enemy and you never thought of "googling" the location up front? Getting more intel? Although you got blindsided by your target several times before and almost got killed at one point? "Reader shakes head"
And this example is one of the minor irritations this book left me with.

So, besides a great start, this serious was a disappointment.

This is how you end a trilogy!

We have reached the finale of this trilogy and I can't even express how much of a payoff this final book was! When we last left our favorite star-crossed couple Kaz was left bleeding out in the snow and Violet was just coming to the realization of some BIG things after having been in the hands of the enemy!

I don't want to ruin anything so I'm going to be extremely vague, but this story had everything. Blood, love, violence, sex, death, an amazing bond between two people so utterly in love. I even CRIED during this book it got me so in my feels! Bethany-Kris and London Miller did an exceptional job making this story multi-faceted! Like I said it was FULL of payoffs from the other books that came before, and so many people the deserved to die... DIED! I think I cheered so many times for the deaths!! Ahhhh!!

 photo 7B5034D5-3CF8-4513-8C75-AE815952F98A_zpsouhdikrl.jpg

Ok I also have to put out there that the side characters of this story had their moments as per usual! Vera and Alfie, need more of them mate. Rus, Nate, and Kira... need more of them as well. Like right now I need more. Ok thanks! I can even admit that I want more Carmine, like where the hell did Nicole (evil troll) go? How did that turn out? I think Carmine could be my favorite anti-hero... also Caesar... geez just so much happened in this book. It was incredible. (If any of these characters already have books by either author and I just don't know, my mistake :] )

This story was extremely well written and I could not get enough. Had me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath right until the very last second. That is amazing writing. THAT is how you write a story that comes full circle! *slow claps*. Amazing job ladies. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!!

Where the Wind Whispers (Seasons of Betrayal #3) by Bethany-Kris and London Miller
4.5 stars!!!

“One day you’ll have to make a decision as to whose life matters more – yours or his?”

The Seasons of Betrayal series has fast become one of my favourite Mafia romances. From the start, this series has been utterly compelling, totally unputdownable and has introduced me to some of the most memorable characters.

After the end of book two, Where the Snow Falls, my heart was in my mouth, I felt physically sick and gutted that the authors had chosen that point to end, but what an ending! It was because of this that Where the Wind Whispers literally became the Holy Grail and it was a book that I couldn’t read quick enough. I devoured it.

Throughout, this series has delivered on so many fronts, from the suspense and intrigue with regards to the Mafia side and then the intensely passionate, hot, swoony, alpha romantic side, a perfect balance and something for everyone. It is this perfect balance that kept those pages turning as Kaz and Violet have their biggest battle yet. Their story has literally come full circle, there will be victors, there will be losers, but who will pay the biggest price? With Kaz fighting for his life at the end of book two, these two definitely have an uphill struggle.

“The terror was all-consuming. Debilitating. It wasn’t just a fast heartbeat, but the belief a heart would stop altogether. It wasn’t just anxiety thrumming through the nerves, but the inability to even speak through the emotion. Terror was vomit in the throat. White-knuckles. Dry mouth. Aching sobs.”

Violet really grows her backbone in this book and her metamorphosis from a doormat, obedient daughter to a gun toting Mrs Smith wannabe was great to see as it was high time she stood up for herself against those that have continually stifled and disregarded her presence. The ferocity with which she finally goes after those that have wronged her and Kaz was an added sparkler on an already lit box of fireworks and this book certainly goes off with a bang. There is blood spilled, lives lost, allegiances tested but is blood really thicker than water.

With battles against Violet’s father and even their own the Markovic’s really have to pull together in this book. These are battles that were a long time coming and with that build up you always knew that the end result was going to be deadly. Tough decisions to be made, tough actions and reactions to be executed but all with merit and looking toward a safer future.

“He loved her too much to fail.”

This book was action packed, blood thirsty, with some fantastic twists and a great pace. The words of these authors literally carried you through with as much frenzy as the story unfolding before you. I had tears, palpitations and a few look away from the kindle moments as my anxiety hit an all-time high, but despite my edge of the seat position, I just kept reading, deeply embedded in the Russian and Italian mafia battle that was unfurling. I have lived this series, I have definitely loved it and I cannot wait to see what this two authors put out next.

I am so..DONE!

This..
This..

This is where and how it all ends..

Thank you BK SO FRICKING MUCH for the speedy releases. Honestly it felt like zero wait after the second book..

But damn if I wasn't dying for this one..

One of my officially most beloved fictional couples for life..

Kaz and Violet

This story was extraordinarily special to me because.. because..the way the previous one ended was utter torture, the build up and progression of Kaz and Violet's relationship..

Though,as far as their scenes "together" went..
I was sorely disappointed..
*insert sad face emoji*

Since, this one was last one,I wanted long and drawn out moments of them like the first part..

But..
This one..

I never even realized and I reached 60% of the book already.

Anyway,I am sad and happy and sad.

Goodbye Kaz and Violet.
Effing love you.

"Do I tell you often enough how much I love you?"

HELLO? CAN YOU UNDERSTAND MY OBSESSION WITH THIS AUTHOR? I can't believe the series is over. I'm going to miss Kaz and Violet so much. These books were truly unique and something else. I don't know if I'll find another like it. Where the wind whispers was fast paced, action packed, filled with new beginnings and sweet romance. Waiting to get this book was TORTURE because of the way the previous one ended. UTTER TORTURE.

Violet's bravery and Kaz determination was beautiful and these are one of the two characters that I'll always keep with me. Everything was perfectly aligned and the little precious was so cute. You'll know what I'm talking about. So many twists and turns, at one point my heart stopped.

Please tell me we are going to get a book for Russell. I am very curious to know about him.

Thank you Bethany-kris and London miller. These books were truly extraordinary.

This is the conclusion to Kaz and Violet's story.

This starts off where book 2 ended and for those of you who have read it you know what that means.

We are thrust into a swirl of emotions. We walk through every emotion Violet is feeling right down to her core as the minutes slowly go by.

Finally Kaz awakens with revenge seeping from his pores, but he has to walk before he can run to the battle field.

He has one focus and that is to keep what's his safe and he will do whatever is necessary to ensure that happens even if he has play a hand he never wanted to play.

More lines will be crossed, blood will continue to flow from both sides and emotions and trust will be tested like never before.

Failure is not and option for Kaz and Violet they will come out on top they have something too important to lose.

Excellent conclusion to this series I loved every single one of these books!

This where it all comes together for the couple. Though out the series I just hope it would be a good ending to pull though. I wasn't sure if this was going to be one of those books that I was going to be mad about that it didn't turn out the way I was hoping. In away I wanted a different out come, but not necessarily did the ending was bad. I did love the book,

Where the Wind Whispers is the last book in the history of Kaz & Violet although I think not the last book of the serie. Since I'm a stalker I saw that Vera maybe had book.

This journey was completely awesome, Kaz & Violet story being a modern story of Romeo and Juliet, completely you fall in love. It keeps you stuck like glue reading until the last chapter.

It’s a book that in one day can be done without regret.

I feel a little sad because I finish this journey but I am happy this serie keeps you hooked and is not disappointed.

There are times when you want to laugh, cry and mourn. There are times when you say, "hell, he finally died."

There are times when you want to stop reading just to not finish this story.

Love, hate, passion, sacrifices. It’s an intense, good written and captivating story.

London and Kris have created a fascinating story and envelop you in a mafia world and can made something beautiful and addictive.

I’ll certainly continue reading Bethany-Kris. And London has her rightful place as one of my favorite authors.
