This was one of my favorite books as a teen, I've read it many times, and recently found it again. It had not lost its charm when rereading it as an adult, but it is very outdated, which also gives it a special appeal. I remember being intrigued by the world of country, a world I didn't know much about, and also in love with the main character Elmo. And I really liked the fact that the book was about a very plain girl. Very nice to read it again.
