“The world was dark again without her light…This wasn’t her fairytale, her happy ending.” Dylan

description

Stolen is the story of a twenty-one year old Dylan Prescott aka “Temperance Elementa”. After the death of her parents she felt alone even with her grandmother’s love and her best friend Aria; she tried to distance herself from everyone. She was bound to never open up and give her heart to anyone because loosing love ones hurt so much. Dylan went to college and met Tristian; a hot, mysterious and intimidating boy that affected her in ways she couldn’t comprehend. When their teacher puts them together as partners for the rest of the semester she didn’t know what to do with that. Dylan was stubborn and wasn’t putting up with cocky Tristan.

Tristian Steward aka “Tristian Effingo”; had been watching Dylan for two years now but when he was pared with her on class; being near her gave him the feels he had never had for anyone before. He wasn’t human and neither was her but she didn’t know that yet. He had an assignment and it was to find her and her “real parents” location. When Dylan found out that she wasn’t a human the information was so hard for her to take in but if it wasn’t for the vampires and stuff she actually witnessed she would have not believed Tristan. Everyone was after Dylan; she was the most powerful Demon there was and she didn’t even know it.

“How is it the one person you shouldn’t have is the one person you can’t imagine living without?” Tristian

description

During the time Dylan and Tristian spent together they started having feelings for each other. The more time they spent together the stronger the feelings. Dylan found herself in trouble and was able to use some of her powers but it almost killed her. Tristan helped her thru it and tried to stay with her until his work was done. He knew they couldn’t be together once his job was completed he would disappear to his world and never see her again. However; the pulled between these two was so strong it was hard not to feel it. I loved the chemistry that Dylan and Tristian had; it was epic they both absolutely fell for each other.

description

“He wanted to brand her, to stamp his mark into her flesh for the entire world to see she was his.” Tristian

description

They were both Soul extracting demons, they use the souls of people to give them more power. Dylan wasn’t happy per say with this revelation she was afraid of this. She even stopped Tristian when she saw him stealing the soul of a police officer. She couldn’t bare the idea of feeding off of people. However; she was tricked and given to an evil Demon that wanted to use her powers which she didn’t yet have or knew how to use them. The entire book was a roller coaster ride, I was a nervous wrecked. Time was precious on this book and I just couldn’t stop reading. I was on the edge of my seat I wanted Tristian to save Dylan so bad, I wanted Dylan to be strong and get her powers; however she was new to this world of Demons, Werewolf, Vampires and was not strong enough as everyone kept saying she was. This book was full of action and suspense I just couldn’t get enough I wanted answers, I loved all the characters Tristian was my favorite, Dylan, her friend Aria, even Asher he was such a fun Demon. I can’t wait to read the next book on this series. The ending well….all I know is that I will cry myself to sleep tonight because I was completely not expecting all the events at the ending of this book. It literally got me by surprised and gutted me. Like laterally I need therapy and I really don’t know what my feelings are doing right now but I might need a lot of booze to survive the waiting of book two. To all my paranormal/fantasy readers you need to read this.

At first reading I was not hooked, especially not by the first three chapters of "Stolen" but, as I allowed myself to give this novel a chance, I found it quite compelling and soulful read. Dylan the main character is really quite a spitfire underneath with refreshing dialogue to match.

This is on heck of a story, that I didn't want to end. I literally bit my nails clean off, with all the suspense. I love Dylan's character, and also Tristan's as well. I hope the next book will be about Asher!! I'm so glad I gave this book a chance. I highly recommend this author hands down.

A paranormal mystery to die for. Except that Dylan refuses to die. She fights for herself against evil creatures. She is an ordinary college girl until she is stalked by dark beings. She is thrust into being Tristain's partner at school. She doesn't like his dark looks or his attitude. But soon they are on an adventure together and the tides turn for them.
I enjoyed this book with its mix of paranormal romance and mystery. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

First of all, I have to say that the blurb and the cover got my full attention when I saw them. I love the Paranormal genre. It's one of my favorite genres, so I was so hoping to love this book, and I did!

This story is about Dylan Prescott, a college student with a past. Dylan's parents died when she was a kid and she went to live with her grandma. Now she's in college, has a roommate called Aria - and I love Aria, by the way, she's so fun - and she got attacked one day. That's how the book starts, with the attack. I'm now saying anymore about that, so go read it immediately if you want to know.

Jumping time... One day, in a class, Dylan ends up paired to Tristian, the guy she's been crushing on for a while, and it's because of him, and some weird bar, it's people and some weird (and maybe unbelievable) circumstances, Dylan founds out some truths about herself.

Things happen, with time, Dylan gets to know Tristian more, and starts to understand somethings about herself and this new world she's a part of now. She met new people (demon and vampire) and kept discovering some information.

And I'm not saying anything more because I want to guys to go read the book and I don't want to give spoilers, accidentally or not.

Now, my thoughts... There were definitely a lot of moments that were unexpected to me, especially the last couple of chapters. I'm still mad at that cliffhanger. So, of course I loved the book.

I think I can relate to Dylan and that's a good thing because I could really understand the reason she would do, not do, say or not say, certain things. She also wasn't the typical female main character that sometimes it's melodramatic. I don't see that in her.

She was overwhelmed when she found out the truth about who she is, about her family and about the world where she belongs. And that overwhelmed feelings aren't over the top, they are natural and real. How would be freaked out, confused and just overwhelmed after someone dropping that kind of bomb? So that was such a great chapter.

Then there is Tristian. I didn't know what to expect about him when I first read about him. And after a couple of chapters and while reading about the development in their relationship, I got to like him a lot. He truly cared about her, more than he thought and that was sweet and made me happy when I read their moments.

The story made me question about somethings. About the demons and vampires. I feel like there is still a lot to learn about, and S. M. is just waiting for us to unwrapped new mysteries and find new information with every page we read in her book, so I'm positive that once I read the next ones, it will have more information about the demon and vampire communities. And all the other paranormal beings she wrote about in this first book. So thumbs up, S. M., for leaving me curious.

Besides behind curious about all the paranormal aspects in the book, I'm damn curious about that cliffhanger. And I sent a message to her to let her know my thoughts about that. I'm not writing them here because I don't want to spoil the "surprise".

Although I'm sad that I can't say more, because I don't want to give spoilers, you really have to know that this is the kid of book that takes you on a journey. You will learn things as you read and as Dylan learns them too. You will try to be a detective a lot of times because you don't know who that mysterious person is or what his or hers plans are and you want to figure it out. And you if will be surprised in the right moments, sometimes the unexpected moments.

Over all, loved the book and I recommend it! It was fun to read it. It put me at the edge of my sit or jumping on my bed from excited, and even crying. And because of all those reasons, I really believe this is a good book with so much love, happiness, sadness, anger... It can give us just the right amount of mystery, paranormal and romance, and still relating to us about the pain of lost, the confusion about who we really are, the happiness of friendship and family, the romance between two new-lovers, the anger and the helplessness and hopelessness.

That's why I hope one day it gets translated so I can get my mom to read it.

That been said, of course it's a 5* read to me.

Stars: 4 Stars
Chapters: Prologue & 22 chapters
Length: 415 pgs
Tense of Story: 1st Person (?)
Genera: YA
Characters: Dylan & Tristan

Found this puppy free on Amazon and the Author was selected as Author of the month. My first book from this author what can I say that hasn’t already been said. The story centers on demons and Dylan whom thought she was your down to earth college student. This story has a different take on demons, there were some that were actually decent. You also had your bad demons, fallen angels, vampires, shifters and warlocks. The story just had them all.

Normally I don’t take a whole month to finish a book, but for some reason it seemed to stretch. I also don’t usually read books with over 400 pgs. and I had others that I read in between. Probably the real reason it took me this long to finish.

The story was good. It flowed well, there were some twists. It’s an instant sort of love kind of story. I like those but some don’t so there you go it’s out there. Regardless of the instant love thing, really thing about giving this one a shot. I also want to mention that even though the characters are collage age, you would think it would be NA. However it’s definitely YA (and that is how Amazon has it listed), she’s coming into her powers and there’s really not any scenes that would traumatize a teen.

But the most agonizing and upsetting thing is that just when you’re really getting into the story and on a roll, it’s done and there’s a cliffhanger. I very much want to see what happens, and if it happens to come up free one day then I’ll grab it. (Unless S.M wants to send me the second one for a review who am I to turn it down)

Dylan Prescott doesn’t let people get close to her to keep from getting hurt. She has been ogling a mysterious boy in her class, Tristan Stewart, who is also watching her because she is part of a contract he needs to complete. Their relationship and interference in their relationship from paranormal creatures make up this story which ends in a cliff hanger.

I enjoyed the quotes at the beginning of each chapter; they were a prequel or synopsis - really cool. The prologue grabbed my attention, but the first chapters didn’t keep me riveted; however there was a scene in a club that was hilarious. It took awhile for me to get into this book but once I did, I enjoyed it. I will be reading the second in this series because I was upset by what happened during the last few chapters and the cliff hanger.

This was a wonderful first novel from S. M. Yair-Levy. I really loved Tristian and Dylan, and thought the various secondary characters were well-written. I do think that Dylan's best friend, Aria, is more of an intriguing character and would like to see more of her and Asher's love story if not later in the series then in a separate stand alone.

Inevitably this book will be compared to Twilight (since EVERYTHING these days is), but as a Twilight fan myself I can safely say this is not a copycat. While Tristian and Dylan do meet in class, Tristian is anything but intrigued by Dylan at that point. The only other similarities I noticed were some characteristics of Dylan that reminded me of Bella; that she is smart and a bit awkward. But what protagonist isn't? And Tristian is definitely not Edward. He is a dark and broken bad-boy with a plan that ends up being derailed by falling for Dylan. There are good twists and turns throughout the book and it didn't seem to take the usual romantic plot line, which was refreshing. The middle of the book threw me out of the typical YA romance to a dark and creepy thriller. It really picked up the pace and left me wanting to learn more in the next book.

There is also a lot of mystery behind the main characters not just romance. Yair-Levy spends a lot of time setting up these characters and yet manages not to reveal too much about Tristian and his plan, so there is quite a lot to learn in future books.

Overall, this is a very good read from a promising new talent. I was absolutely enthralled from beginning to end. I'm anxiously awaiting her sequel!

***Book Exchange for a honest review***

Omg I can't even start. This book was freaking fantastic, well written, and amazing. Let start with Dylan Prescott yes she's the heroin. Dylan was a girl who had a lost and she was trying to move on in life the best way she could. Dylan was good at hidden her feelings. she put this front as a strong girl but on the inside she was torn apart. One night she was attack two years later one assignment and a school partner with mr. Dark and mysterious changes her whole life.

Tristian Stewart( mr. dark and mysterious) always wear sunglasses and he has an eye on Dylan but, she doesn't know. He has been looking at her for two years. One assignment throws them together. Dylan learns that everything isn't what it seems and most of all she finally finds out who she really is. Between demons and human her life takes a turn she never expected. Stolen is the first of the collector series and I recommend this book especially if you like paranormal and mystery because it's freaking amazing. Being the first book of this author it was excellent, very detail, and well written. I promise you you will enjoy this book. By the way it ends on a huge cliffhanger :-)!

Also, Aria is the bestest and coolest friend ever she rocks!!!

Oh........ where do I even begin........
AH- mazing. I loved this book from the beginning, and if it wasn't for work and the busy holiday season, I would have finished this in one sitting. Each character is memorable, and that is something rare in a book. Paranormal romance at its best. I only wish I could finish the whole series right now, but its still being written by the amazing author. For an author's first book, she really went all in, the concept is amazing and this book will keep you interested from start to finish. After Dylan and Tristian's story, I hope to see more of Aria and Asher! And Ulysses! This is a world I want to live in!

Will be recommending to all my friends and impatiently waiting for the next book.

My friend recommended me to read Stolen. Trusting her taste in books I bought the book on a whim. I have pretty eclectic tastes, so I figured "why not".

As I began reading I became involved deeply with the book, I couldn't put it down! The characters are so easily relatable, and the storyline deep and complex.

I think this book is great for everybody, even if you're not a fan of the paranormal genre. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for the sequel.

Really good book other then the ending and cliffhanger! Romance involving demons, vampires and a werewolf and a coming of age story of a girl who finds out she's not so ordinary. Well written, page-turner, no over the top love scenes, but the ending is an unexpected tear jerker and not the HEA I prefer... cliffhanger, next book out in a month. Despite my reservations, I'll read it because I need to know what happens. Honestly don't think the sequel will be good but I pre-ordered!

Let's just say, I could not for the life of me, put this book down! After the first 10 pages, I was hooked.

“Okay, I said you were from Transylvania,” she chuckled under her breath. “I said you moved here when you were five with your parents— who now live back there with your relatives. That you are into goth clubs with your girlfriend and you like playing vampires to connect to your roots.”

I laughed out loud. I smiled. I waited in anticipation. Everything about the story gripped me from the start. Swearing off vampire related stories (for the time being), I was amazed at how demons captured my attention. Every character was well developed and I found myself rooting for not one, but quite a few of them. That's how invested I was in the story.

Dylan Prescott seemed as real as any girl. She had her doubts, her weaknesses, her moments. Without trying to give anything away, when Dylan was whisked off (read it and you'll know where), my heart literally crumpled for her. She just found out that everything about her existence had been a lie and while trying to cope with that, learns that other demons are after her.

Tristian Stewart... now, when you reach the ending, your eyes will definitely water for him. Learning that he has feelings for Dylan, he goes all out to make things right. But, was the revelation of his feelings too late?

This paranormal romance is one of the best I have read and I highly recommend it.Yes, there's a huge cliffhanger at the end but it'll be worth it. The writing is flawless and the author's descriptions are so vivid, you can play the entire story in your mind. I'm honestly looking forward to the sequel and for the healer to heal (can't say what this is about without giving it away!).

What a crazy ride! Both Dylan and Tristian are such strong characters. Their connection was undeniable. This was so much more than a Paranomal Romance. Stolen, was lust, want, desperation, heartache and a burning hot attraction between two amazing characters. Tristian might come off as a complete ass but you can’t help but love him from the very beginning. Dylan might seemed closed off, but you feel like your inside her heart as you read. You feel the hurt of her past and you’ll feel the tragedy and yearning in Tristian's.

This book is a must read! I picked it up and didn’t stop until I finished. I laughed, I hurt and I cried. Yair-Levy's writing is simply amazing. You don’t just read words, you feel them. You will want more and I can guarantee you she will continue to deliver pure brilliance!

When I picked this book up I wasn't sure what to expect; but, what I found was better than I had imagined. I love books about Angels, Demons, and all things fantasy but I have found that the authors I enjoy with the most skill are able to place their fantasy creatures into any world. S.M. Yair-Levy has done this very well. Her characters fit well into our everyday world, their own fantastic worlds, and the places in between.

The main characters, Dylan Prescott (Dee or Temperance Elementa) and Tristan Effingo (Stewart) are crafted well. They have their own unique personalities and quirks and they develop very nicely as they discover new situations and emotions. I particularly liked the development of Tristan. He has some interesting revelations throughout this book and I loved reading about the internal conflict he experiences. I appreciated being able to "see" through both his and Dylan's eyes. It gives a unique insight into both characters. Dylan can be a stubborn spitfire and I love that. I think she will need that spirit in the stories to come.

The Angels and Demons in this book are also well thought out. I enjoyed S.M. Yair-Levy's take on the different types of Demons and appreciated her unique spin on the genre. I look forward to meeting more creatures in the upcoming books.

Two things I would like to point out. First this book does cover some sexual content (although no actual sex) that is somewhat graphic. I would just bear this in mind if you are purchasing for younger reader. Second, the book does end on a cliff-hanger. On a positive note the next book is due out the 28 Feb 2018; sadly the third book isn't scheduled until 2020 (I believe). So if this bothers you, you might want to wait.

This will not be the last book I read by S.M. Yair-Levy. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did. Happy Reading.

I will admit this took me a long time to read. I had to shelve it a few times and come back. But once I got to the final third of the book I was hooked. This is not my normal genre, and demons are not my kink.

Descriptions of the characters were very helpful in visualising characters. But at times I got lost as to what part of the demon world they were part of. Once we got down to the final third of the book, I started to grow a love for the characters, and the suspense made me keep turning the pages. The Cliffhanger made me want to get the next book, but I am worried that it might fall flat. I have put #2 on my want to read but it is not high up the list.

For a free book for an honest review, I am happy I gave this genre a go. We will still see if I get to #2 yet.

Possibly real?!

The characters seem to come to life, something that doesn't happen in every book. S.M. made me begin thinking that this may actually be the work of truths instead of fantasy I love it and can't wait to read more about what happens to Temperance Elementa
