BRIELLE
Technically, I’m not a stripper. As a cage dancer, I don’t take all my clothes off and no one gets to touch me. I’m just the eye candy.
And I can feel their eyes on me. I know they’re watching, but I don’t do this for them.
This is my time.
My life may not have turned out the way I thought it would, but I’m not complaining. From 9pm to 1am several days a week I get paid to feel sexy, to feel desired, to do what I love.
I always knew I wanted to be a dancer—I just didn’t realize I’d be doing it in a cage.

COLTON
Erectile dysfunction—two words that can cause a collective cringe from men everywhere. The doctors can call it ‘performance anxiety’ all they want, but that’s just a fancy way of saying my dick doesn’t work.
Just when I start to think there’s no hope for me, I see her. She’s gorgeous, sexy, and goofy as f*ck. She also looks really familiar but I can’t put my finger on it.
When I find out who she really is, my world is turned upside down and everything seems to fall into place.
She’s not gonna make it easy for me, but I’ve never been one to back down from a challenge. She’s convinced I won’t stick around.
I’ll prove her wrong.

Although DANCER is the second book in the Good Guys series, it can be enjoyed as a standalone. Due to language and sexual content, this book is intended for readers 18 and older.
I’ll show her I’m one of the good guys.

Ok I don’t do second chance period. And although this wasn’t not really …the author tried to make it that and it pissed me off.
Plus I just read a few books from this author that were sooo good and had Virgin H’s and they were so sweet so reading this was off putting.

This had too many BS double standards and I just can’t.

-They knew each other and were best friends when they were 7yrs old.

-They both LOVED EACH OTHER more than friends

-He moved away but the swore to stay BFF. THEY MOVED A MERE FEW TOWNS AWAY!

-He stopped writing her first - ummm ever heard of phones!?

-She was hurt and kept a box of keepsakes and never forgot him

-He forgot all about her a moved on.

-15 yrs later, he never thought of her had GF and lots of sex! His last gf was 6mo ago and then he started to have problems w erections and THATS THE ONLY REASON HE HADNT HAD SEX FOR 6mo.

-She has 1 HS BF. NEVER HAD AND ORGASM DURING SEX, NEVER HAS ORAL AND HADNT HAD SEX FOR 3 yrs!!!!!!! 3 FUCKING YEARS WITH NO FUCKING ORGASMS‼️‼️‼️ 🤬😡🤬😡 SHE NEVER EVEN HAD DECENT SEX! She may as well have been a V!

‼️BULL FUCKING SHIT….
This double standard is just not ok. ESP with an author that’s all about equality and social justice! ‼️

-They meet and she IMMEDIATELY recognizes him while he DOES NOT!!!!! She has keepsakes for fuck sakes! And he hasn’t thought about her…. AT ALL.
He claims her parent whet like second parents 🤯 and you didn’t recognize her or stay in touch?

-So he gives her tons of firsts while he has been living totally fine and sexing life up.

-A girl has daughter w her 1 bf! And cause she is a mom apparently that means she can’t have sex ever again‼️

‼️First- why try for a second chance if they are 7!!!!!!!!! They don’t even know love. This makes no sense!

‼️Second- why the double standard. Why can’t she have the same sex life as him. Why can’t she have partners and good sex?

‼️3rd- why have her all about him and remember him and recognizing him right away and make him a douche who couldn’t be bothered to remember her. HE HAS SEX WITH HER AND STILL DOESNT RECOGNIZE HER! WTF! So not ok

‼️4th - if they ment that much to each other why not CALL EACH OTHER? Or I don’t know….look each other up? I mean you guys are basically stranger AT THIS POINT SO WHY ALL THE SECOND CHANCE SHIT?

‼️5th- if you want me to feel the connection between them then maybe make me believe its about more than him and his dick ED problems and the first girl to give him a boner in 6 mo.

I expected more and this isn’t safe for me with the double standards. This was so weird and confusing it didn’t work at all.
I read this authors social justice propaganda and this seems a bit sexist for her.
Plus I just don’t give a shit about second chance romance (even when it’s not really) esp when the couples are w OP even if they are 7yr old cause….. be honest… the stuff listed above isn’t a innocent we were kids feel. It’s a girl who never forgot or let go and a guy who did story.

Highly disappointed. I like this series so far till now. I’m didn’t have any caring or connecting with the characters or story. Maybe this would have been a sweet cute single mom book but instead the author threw too much into it to make it good.

My favorite by the author so far! Amazingly well developed characters, enrapturing plot that had me hooked from the very start, and some off the charts sex scenes!
I ADORED how Colton, gave so easily into his feelings and was completely devoted and loving to Brielle and her little girl!
Swoon-worthy hero at its best!!! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

I’m glad I took a chance on this 'new to me' author. Dancer was a hot and sexy ‘best friends fall in love’ romance with a gripping storyline. It was a fast paced, scorching page turner with a well written plot. The chemistry between heroine Brielle and Hero Colton was sizzling.

Brielle was an awesome character. She was tough, sweet and sassy. She had her uphill battles, but in the end, she was willing to take the risks to live and love. Colton was so gentle and so persistent to show Brielle that he’s back to stay and he’s worth her trust.

The plot was fairly simple. Boy wants girl, and girl tries to resist. Cute. Sweet. Fairly predictable, with a little mystery and tension thrown in successfully, too. There were some scintillating, sensual scenes to get your heart pumping, beautifully entwined with a deeper story of two people finding their way in life.

I liked some of the turns the plot took and how the author handled the various conflicts the characters faced. Both Colton and Brielle seemed to be a very good fit for each other. I especially liked how they were physically and mentally attracted to each other. That seemed like a good basis for a solid and long-lasting relationship. The author’s dialogue shined, and I enjoyed the time I spent reading this book.

Um, ok - where did that come from? Color me shocked! I was not expecting that at all. The first book Trucker was super sweet and a good read, but this book was much better!

So Colton was featured heavily in Trucker (him and his ex bitch...um girlfriend...Tara) but we did not really get to know him well.

Colton's mother died when he was maybe 6 or 7 years old. At the time he had a best friend Ellie. But his Dad and him moved away to start over fresh and he had to leave Ellie behind. No surprise - 7 year olds did not maintain contact. Therefore, I cannot call this a second chance (yes they love each other as 6 year old kid BFFs but that is not romantic) nor are they friend to lovers since they have not seen each other in 15 years. He did not even know her when he saw her!

He sees her and it is lust at first sight. Ellie is a single mother to the 3 year old ADORABLE Ava and takes a night with Colton to do something for herself. Well maybe actually to let him "do" something for her! Ellie does know who Colton is, but she does not tell him immediately because she does not want to derail the night.

So starts their relationship. Colton is all in immediately. Ellie is in, but scared. Her baby daddy was an epic douche so she is gun shy. She held it together until fairly late in the book when she pulls a bitch move and pushes him away. I felt horrible for him. But it was short lived and she does the right thing. So does he.

Ellie pretty much has her shit together. Her family is uber supportive and that helps a lot. She is gun shy about men - but I get that. But she is mature enough that I did not feel like I was reading a NA book, even though they were 22 years old.

Colton is a great hero. Sweet, loyal, open, loving and hot. Although it sounds like his dancing is not so hot! His relationship with Ava is a wonderful to read. He has no clue what he is doing, but so open to everything. When Ava fully accepts him at her party - I was teary. The ending made me teary again.

This book, and Trucker, both are about real people. They sing off key in the shower, cannot dance, get a little drunk, work hard for their money and live within their means (which is not much). They are normal. It is so refreshing!

I was not expecting emotion from this book, but it was there. I really think this author's work is getting better and look forward to her next book!

Colton was definitely another Good Guy from this series.
He and Brielle knew each other from the age of six and were best friends.
They were separated when Colton and his father moved to a new town, and after a while there was no communication between them.
Fifteen years later, a second chance was given to them and had an unexpected encounter.

Their story was wonderfully written, full of emotions, low angst or drama. The characters were likeable, despite their flaws or insecurities.
It was a cute and safe romance read, I liked it but didn’t excite me as much as Magic Man did...

Colton Evans, 22, has a little problem. Things below the belt haven’t been working the way they should. But that all changes the night he spots a beautiful and sexy dancer in a cage at a club. And little does he know he’s hot for his childhood best friend, Brielle “Ellie” Mitchell.

Brielle recognizes Colton as her long-lost friend, but this now single mom doesn’t want to spoil the moment. Keeping her identity a secret is risky, but Bree just wants a night to live a little. She’s had a thing for Colton since they were kids.

“I couldn’t believe I just told him that. The only logical explanation I could come up with was that Colton had fucked me senseless.”

Colton and Ellie have some serious chemistry! Once again with this series, the author knows how to capture the hot and sensual details.

“The first lick made me gasp. The second swipe had me gripping the headboard so hard my knuckles turned white.”

Told via Colton and Ellie’s alternating first person POV, this was a very engaging story with just the right blends of steam, humor, sweetness, and bittersweet.

“‘I need you to know that I love every part of you, Ellie….Now get that pussy on my face.’”

Both Colton and Ellie were great characters. Though Ellie sometimes let her past heartbreaks cause her doubt, she was still a strong female character and very likable—realistic and genuine, the type of person you’d want as your friend in real life. I loved how Colton never gave up on what he wanted. Just like Travis in the first book, Colton turns out to be a total book boyfriend. Speaking of the sexy trucker Travis, he and Angel make appearances, but this can still be easily read as a standalone.

I also appreciated how much the story seemed to stress the importance of communication, which is so critical in any relationship. If you’re looking for your next sweet and sexy romance, then this is certainly one to read. Oh and make sure you have Guns n’ Roses “Pretty Tied Up” on stand-by. That whole scene is totally adorable!

If you read Trucker, you know that Colton is having some problems downstairs - erectile dysfunction. How does that happen to a guy as young as he is? He’s got performance anxiety and it’s messing with his head and his emotions. He feels there’s no hope. He might as well start taking that little blue pill, right? But then he sees her. The most beautiful girl he’s ever seen is dancing in a cage. And something other than his attention starts to perk up. Desperate to know this girl, to explore this unexplainable connection, he starts haunting her workplace. And then realizes that something about her is strangely familiar. Brielle doesn’t suffer the same confusion. She knows exactly who Colton is. The boy she used to know. The boy she used to love. Now these two are getting another chance at love, but can Colton break down her walls and convince her that he’s her forever?

Dancer was just as sweet, if not sweeter, than I expected. Colton was a real upstanding man that any girl would be lucky to have in her corner. He wanted to stand by Brielle through every moment of her life, to support her and to love her. This best friends to lovers romance was cute, sexy and heart warming. I love it when the good guy doesn’t finish last ;)

Ok so I absolutely adored Colton. He was so sweet to Ellie and the way he loved Ava was beautiful. To him, she was his as much as Ellie. I really liked Ellie too up until a certain point. Then she just pissed me off for a while. When she finally pulled her head out of her ass, I was happy. This was a sweet and pretty low angst read which I need at times. I loved the way he loved his girls. Can't wait for the next in the series. I wonder if it will be connected to this one because i have no idea who it will be about. I'm guessing Chloe (Ellie's friend) may be the h?

I slowly a fan of this series. In Outcast the story is more melancholic. Dancer has more humor. I cracked up listening to the audiobook.

Colton is officially my new book boyfriend. This man! Miss Schlosser impresses me again with her writing. She givea me a clean romance with a humor and interesting plot. The story is min angst/ drama but I enjoy it very much. Usually I required more drama on my romance.

Miss Schlosser is officially my go to author for clean romance story.

THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN MILD SPOILERS.

After reading "Trucker" which I loved with every fiber of my being, despite having a stack of ARCs and a TBR already sky high, I immediately one-clicked "Dancer". Didn't read the blurb, didn't even know it was about Colton, although Yay for that!!!

So, I bought it, I read it, and I friggin' loved it.

Was it as perfect as Trucker? It was one slight notch lower, IMO. But mostly for personal reasons. I loved naive and bubbly Angel more than I did cautious and wary Ellie.

What I definitely adored about this book was their shared past. Childhood friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and in this book it was rendered perfectly how, even after all those years, they still felt the same about each other.

My mom said we were like the last two piece of a jigsaw puzzle. I agreed with her because Colton was my other half. From the first moment I saw him, I knew we belonged together.

Or also this overly cute letter he wrote her as a kid.

I miss you. I don't like our new house. My neighbor came over to play today. I don't want a new best friend so I punched him in the face.
Love, Colton

My curiosity was also piqued by Ellie's situation, being a cage dancer, but also a mom. Also, usually when there are single parents involved in romances, there's always that "I need to be careful of who I let in my and my kid's life", which I usually hate, despite understanding it. In this case it wasn't an issue because Ellie know what kind of person Colton is.

"What's wrong, Ellie? And don't say it's nothing because I know it's something. Did I do something wrong? Because whatever it is, I'm sorry."

[Colton should teach classes about: "how to be a top-notch boyfriend"]

Their relationship, still really low in angst, had a bit more up and downs than Angel and Travis', of which we have a couple of cammeos too.

I also have to admit that I adore to see men with kids. Or at least read about them. Colton is one hell of a nice guy. From the moment he sees Ellie, he knows that she's what he wants, and not just for one night or a fling. Finding out that she's a daughter doesn't change a comma in his feelings, if not for strengthening them.

It was endearing.
It was cute.
It put my ovaries in explosion danger zone.

I spent the next ten minutes glancing into the rearview mirror at Ava as though she was a ticking time bomb, while also driving very carefully because - precious cargo.

Other brownie points go for both the funny-ness of it and the steamy-ness. I found it hotter than the first book, and equally as funny. We know that Colton is one smart-ass and Ellie dishes out as good as she gets. There were no boring moments, what with Colton's auto-correct fails, kinky mishaps, drunken chats, as well as Ellie's sweet daughter. She was a consistent present in the narration and I liked that she wasn't just in the background. There was a time, during my teenage years, in which I didn't appreciate the presence of kids in books. I thought it diminished the romantic factor. Now? Now I think there's nothing hotter than a man who can entertain a kid, play with them, educate them and just being a good parental figure, biology be damned.

Also, something I'm a big fan of, even when the heroine had some moments of hesitation, or let doubts eat at her, Colton was there proving her that he'd always be there for her. He was the chaser and he was her rock. That I FLOVED!

They had this insane connection stemming from their past together, that made the romance feel more genuine.

"But will you go on a date with me? Soon?" I asked hopefully.
I didn't even try to stop myself from sounding desperate. Normally, I would've tried to play it cool. But this was Ellie. We could just skip all the bullshit.

***

"Remember that time you peed your pants?" Giggling, I covered my mouth and Colton's jaw went slack.
"You promised we'd never speak of that again," he said, his voice hushed as if someone might overhear. "You pinky swore."

In conclusion, amazing book, wonderful characters, fun, low on angst, but still a page turner. Sexy,
sweet, and a definite future re-read. Will I read more of this author? Hell yeah, I will. I'll soon get Drop Out too and have already devoured the short Christmas story from Travis and Angel POV.

Beware of Spoilers!

Star Ratings:
Heroine (Brielle): 22yrs old
Hero (Colton): 22yrs old
Plot: 1/5
Grovel: none
Cheating: none
HEA: yes
Triggers: none

Average score: 1/5

Best Line: “Ruined. This girl had just completely ruined me for life.”

Worst Line: “I liked to think having a great family was the universe’s way of paying me back for getting knocked up by an asshole my senior year of high school.” – um, no. Payback would be if your family kicked you out for becoming a cliché teen mum

Personal Review:
A cliché teen mom, living with her parents and has the nerve to complain about money (even though her parents look after her child and support them financially), and a manwhore who can’t keep his dick up, fall in love.

Random Ramblings
•I know I am being picky but the h is 5 months older than the H and I REALLY hate older h/younger H romances
•The single mother thing came as a surprise and I have more respect for single mum’s who DON’T have financial support from their parents because otherwise the parents end up raising the kid instead of the kids actual parent
•It was wrong of her to not tell him
•I am just not feeling it with this couple, they keep doing things that just annoy me
•The 3yr old spoke like a 10yr old – not very believable but romances rarely portray kids properly. I have read some great romances with awesome kids – this just isn’t one of them
•Stopped reading from chapter 16 and skipped to the end – the h was annoying me by not being a good mum
•It’s not that hard to fix auto-correct

Overall Feeling:

They were good as a couple and clearly their personalities fit together but it was just a couple who I became judgemental of and a couple I don’t want to read about in my romances

I skipped through a lot. So it doesn't count as read.
Also I think I'm entitled to give a book 2 stars if I skipped about 60% of it.
Not safe for me.
They were best friends as kids. They both felt strongly for each other. Both labelled that as love. Yet they were both with OP.
Hero had a long time girlfriend.
Heroine did too.
Just not for me.
Though, hero was hooked the moment he saw her the second time and they were both faithful to each other.
I hated the fact that once again heroine never had orgasm with a guy *rolls eyes* however that was balanced out by the fact hero couldn't even get it up with OWs. So yeah.

I’m baffled at this book.

Boy and girl were best friends up until they were 7 years old & he had to move away to a different state. They try to keep in contact but it ends after a few months.

They reacquaint at 22.

Okay, cool.

Heroine is hurt because he stopped writing her back & she loved him. LOL. First of all “love”? Second, why does he need to provide an explanation? I can’t believe there was beef in this book about 7 YEAR OLDS not staying in contact. Even her dad berated him. Can 7 year olds even remember their times tables never mind a friend a whole state away. 💀

Plus they had way too many fresh memories together for that age bracket to reminisce upon. I’m going to sound like such a hater but The “three, two, one” goodbye thing was so cringey. Don’t even get me started on the ketchup mustard sandwiches.

This isn’t even second chance pls some of you guys are reaching! They were children. What in the sexualisation?Should have made them older if you wanted to pull that card.

Someone was smoking crack when this book was written. Idc I felt the second hand fumes in that dialogue.

Safety: Safe.

Some background: she has a 3 year old child, has never orgasmed (this was doing too much), never received oral, had one partner, hasn’t dated since. H has periodic erectile dysfunction with women, so has been celibate for a few months.

Spoilers ahead

I enjoyed this more than book 1 probably because I generally like single parent romances

H/h were childhood best friends but lost contact as he moved and went on with his life. His excuse for not continuing to write to her was a bit dumb but he's excused because of how young they were lol
He had relationships but wasn't a manwhore
He seems to be suffering from ED but turns out it was just SDS(selective dick syndrome which all H's should have so they won't be sticking it into everything that breathes) which was of course cured by the h
h was a single parent to an adorable little girl
The child's father was an idiot who made a brief appearance
When the mcs are this young especially in the financial situation they're in I really need an epilogue a few years out to settle my mind on the hea. These books are really lacking in that one aspect

No OW drama
OM drama in the sense that there was a confrontation with the child's father where he said some hurtful stuff to the h
Non manwhore hero
h obviously wasn't a virgin but I think her ex was her only other
Steamy sexy times(yay)
Loved it

Audiobook Review

Overall 4 stars
Performance 5 stars
Story 3 stars

This was a sweet and low drama childhood friends to lovers romance. I'm not sure I would go as far as to say it was a second chance romance though since the characters were about 7 years old at the start and I don't quite believe at that age you can love someone beyond friends. Colton and Brielle's reunion 15 years later isn't exactly the sweetest and is much more driven by mystery and lust. Yes, they have a connection, but some of the choices that night had me shaking my head (especially Brielle's decision to withhold the truth about knowing Colton). Speaking of Colton (who we first met in Trucker), he came across initially as too stalkerish for me. Without knowing who she was, he continued to pursue Brielle even though she had essentially ghosted him by not giving him her name or any contact information. He shows what a good guy and sweetheart he truly is as the story progresses though, especially in his interactions with Ava (Brielle's daughter). Colton and Brielle were likable characters, but I do wish more focus would have been spent on the connection between them now as young adults, instead of their supposed love when they were 6 and 7. There's a little bit of drama and push away, but I liked that Brielle saw her error and that Colton didn't give up. The epilogue was very sweet and though things progressed quickly, it still worked for these two.

Stephanie Rose and Aaron Shedlock were wonderful as Brielle and Colton. They each showed their incredible range with both their male and female voices, and I think Shedlock performing Ava was ridiculously cute. Rose was truly perfect as sweet Brielle and I enjoyed this narrating duo a lot. I did feel that Shedlock made Travis (Colton's roommate) a little too simple/dorky sounding however, but overall a great listen!

Nice but dull. Sedate pacing.
Exceptionally conflict-free. Which made it far from exceptional, actually. I fell asleep twice on it so I gave up. DNF @ 45%.

I wanted to dive directly into Colton's story immediately after Trucker ended. I knew something had to explain his "issue" and I needed it to be exactly what it was. That probably only makes sense to me because I'm weird like that. It's simply that when I read a book like these based on Good guys..I expect a certain element. That's simply the instant or soul deep connection. Colton didn't even know that his life was gonna change so drastically and Brielle didn't realize hers would come full circle. I adored sweet Ava and just wanted these 3 to have a healing HEA. it was by far sweet and satisfying.

Totally safe.. childhood ( 7&8) buddies. Separated by miles and years. Epic twist of fate .. no ow issue some slight om drama but Colton handled it amazing.

This may work for you, but it did not work for me.

I wish authors, in the synopsis, would indicate whether the story had a heroine or hero that has a child. The heroine got pregnant by a guy her senior year in high school. The heroine lives with her parents and they help, but she is a stripper. I loved the premise. However, I wanted a romance that did not involve a child.

Good

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked the characters Colton and Brielle and little Ava. I felt bad for Brielle when she lost contact with Colton. My heart broke for her as she waited and waited to hear anything from him. Her parents did what they could to keep him in her life but Colton and Hank were ready to move on. I probably would have felt abandoned just like Brielle felt. Meeting again as adults they still had that intense connection that they had as kids. I understood why Brielle wanted to keep her identity a secret, she just couldn't handle losing him again. Colton grew up to be a good man. And while he was interested in her when he thought she was Bree, he was all in when he found out she was his Elle! He also became completely devoted to her little girl Ava which was totally swoon worthy. Ava hadn't had the easiest time in the last few years and she is afraid to trust Colton completely. Colton definitely had his work cut out for him gaining her complete trust but he was definitely up for the challenge. This book was sweet and sexy. I love the men in this series, they are such good, honourable guys. It was nice to see how Travis and Ava were doing as well! I am really liking this series!

Funny enough when I chose to read “Dancer” by Jamie Schlosser, I did not realize that I had read the first book in that series too. Shame on me I know but I hope with the amount of books I devour on regular base it is somewhat understandable that I do not have the name and titles of all authors I liked on speed dial.

But it did not take long for me to remember because this author has such a sweet and innocent style that directly something started to nag me. And only a few pages in I recognized the setting and Angel… (Don’t get me wrong – the book is perfectly readable as a standalone – you will only spoiler yourself the ending of the first book – but the stories are independed)

I liked the complete story development and similar to “Trucker” this book is exuding innocence while not being innocent at all. I am not sure what it is about this series but it feels like the title “the good guys” is broadcasted in a way that the reader can actually feel it.

The leading characters appear sweet without being naïve (or at least not that much) at one moment, while at the next there is a heat present between them that is off the charts.

Still I have to be honest I like Angel more than Brielle – the reasons for that are among the storyline therefore due to spoilers it is impossible for me to elaborate. Lets just say I could not follow all her thoughts.

And with Logan I am not sure why he had to have a medical condition, because it never was an issue for the flow of the story, only a reason why his last relationship did not work out. I think the story would have worked without it just fine.

Now I am left wondering what kind of sweet romance the author will present next …

Three.
Two.
One.
Bye

Friends to lovers/second chance...2 of my favorite tropes.

I lovlovelove Colton and Ellie's story. From the very beginning I could sense this innate connection stemming from memories that feel like a lifetime ago. In book 2 of the Good Guys trilogy, I was elated to hear more about Colton and how he found, but was separated from, love at such a young age. Unfortunately, that childhood separation creates this chasm in the hearts of him and his best friend Brielle, who he lovingly nicknames Ellie. Their reunion is unexpected and tainted with lies and hidden truths. Ellie is afraid Colton will not accept who she's become once he realizes this exotic cage dancer is more than a familiar face.

Sometimes we are forced to grow up before our time. Life throws you a curve ball and decisions have to be made. Such was the case on more than one occasion in Dancer.

From her debut in Trucker to its sequel, Dancer, Jamie Schlosser writes these flawless stories that pull you in and keep you hooked from beginning to end. You feel the love to your soul, and the heroes she creates really are the "good guys". I was rooting for Colton from the very beginning. His best friend Travis tells him that his erectile dysfunction could be a side effect of just not having met the right woman, that it's smarter than him. When his body responds immediately to Ellie, he agrees that Travis may be on to something. He doesn't initially recognize her, but after she comes clean, Colton couldn't be happier. That's what being the good guy is all about. Love, forgiveness and acceptance while still maintaining an air of "alpha male", which Colton personifies.

5+ reunited stars!!!

This is my first five-star read of 2022! This is the second in the Good Guys series, which takes typical “bad” stereotypes and flips the script. The first in the series was trucker, and this one features Brielle, a single mom and cage dancer. This book is just as cute and addictive as the first! In this installment in the series, we get to see Colton, the best friend from the first book, fall in love with his childhood best friend.
I absolutely adored all the flashback scenes to when they were kids. Ava, Brielle’s kid, is just as adorable as they once were. Schlosser is so good at creating sweet and hilarious side characters, and we even get to see the old man from the first book again in this one!
This romance is a real feel-good story. There’s not a lot of conflict in these stories, but at the same time, if you’re like me and not a huge fan of super sweet books, there’s just enough strong language, smexy times, and humour to make this book unputdownable.

I really enjoyed this one.. even more than Trucker, probably because it had more bedroom time ;) haha!! This was NA but with a more Contemporary Romance feel as the intimacy started way sooner than Trucker. I don't want to spoil anything so my review will be short. I loved Ellie and Colton. I really really LOVED Colton! It's somewhat of a second chance romance, though they were kids so i'm not sure if it counts haha. But whatever. i loved it! Can't wait to see what Schlosser has for us next!

Three Stars

Adored the beginning, but then it started to get stagnant after 40% or so and I started to get bored. There wasn't much storyline after they got together and found myself skimming. Cute story though if you're looking for not a lot of drama.

4.5-5 Stars

This was a great story and I really enjoyed the story a lot.

Brielle works nights as a cage dancer while she goes to nursing school. Things haven't been easy for Brielle, she had a dance scholarship for college that she had to give up because of extenuating circumstances but she's working on making her life better. Brielle hasn't had good luck with men so she tries to focus on more important things.

Colton is a mechanic/truck driver that works for a business he co-owns with his father and BFF, Travis (from book #1 ). Colton is a good guy but hasn't had much luck with women and lately has been having erectile issues.

I'm finding it hard to review this without spoilers considering what's already in the blurb, so let me make it brief. This is a story of two soulmates that found each other young, got split up and found each other later in life. It's poignant and sweet and very funny at times but all people have their issues, even soulmates, so there's also some angst in there. But, perseverance (and love) pays off and Colton and Brielle end the story starting on a HEA together.

This was a highly enjoyable story. I really liked Brielle, even if she did cause some unneeded angst. Colton was great and was all in when he realized who Brielle was (and how she made him feel), even with some surprises along the way. Ava was awesome and not plot-toolish at all. Overall, this was a very enjoyable, engaging and funny story with characters I came to care about so I would recommend it. :)
