It's always nice to find a picture book that stars, and fosters connection with, an unusual animal that we often overlook. Ebbie and Flo are two salmon fry who grow and learn to survive and make their way from their hatching-place in a stream to their adult home in the ocean. Fantasy and humor combine with real salmon facts to make an exciting tale.

This was a cute book about a brother and sister fish named Ebbie and Flo. Ebbie is timid and shy, while Flo is outgoing and up for anything. They have a few adventures together while on their travels to the ocean. This book was used in one of my classes as part of an ocean unit, and after reading the book we went through and discussed events, setting, and other parts of a story. This book was perfect for that activity.

Ebbie and Flo is a great book for young children. It is about a brother and sister fish who meet a whale and travel over the waterfall. It would be a great book to incorporate in a lesson over the ocean.
