It may be said that Memory is the basis upon Which all knowledge rests. Without Memory, edu cation, and, indeed, the Whole fabric of human econ omy, would relapse into chaos. But, although this wonderful faculty is so' preeminently important, it is very seldom studied and, consequently, but little understood. The young at school or college, as well as persons of riper years, are left to make use of their own crude devices. Following blindly their untutored instincts as to the manner in Which, or the methods by Which, they should impress upon the memory the more difli cult matter they Wish to remember.
