Fame and wealth could not buy what Elvis needed most ...
Elvis Presley didn't invent loneliness, but he was lonely all his life. At birth he lost a brother, and grew up an only child. In death, he was surrounded more by luxury and extravagance than friends. He became a prisoner of his own popularity, separated from those who really loved him by necessity. Marriage failed him, friends disappointed him. He was still a star, still an idol, and he loved us as much as we loved him, but there was no personal way to say that. He was a decent man who endured the saddest pain of all ... being lonely in a crowd.
Another book about Elvis, which seems to repeat the same storyline as the many others I have read. Nothing really stands out that is better than any of the other books that have been written and released. All about the Author seeking fame and fortune from a very talented and popular man.
