Why did a man with one arm go into Dr Richard Kimble's house and murder his wife? The police think Kimble did it. Kimble is wrongly put in prison but escapes. He wants one thing to find the killer. Detective Gerard is searching for Kimble and is very close behind

I know, it’s kind of crazy. I stopped my werewolf craze just long enough to read “The Fugitive.” The reason of course, is because I love the movie so much. I always find these books interesting, because you can see where they changed the dialogue from the original script. The dialogue isn’t as funny and entertaining as it is in the movie. Gerard is more of a hard ass. LOL
There is even an error in the book. When Richard Kimble tells Gerard that he didn’t kill his wife, in the movie, Gerard says “I don’t care.” But in the book, he says, “Not my problem.” Yet later in the book, they refer to the “I don’t care,” line showing that the book was probably written while the movie was being made.
Did I enjoy the book? Yes! As always, I think reading the book gives a little more insight into the characters, which I love. Yet, as with all movie books, they tend to follow the script pretty closely, so they don’t offer that much more insight, when I wish they would.
I could write a whole page on why I love “The Fugitive,” but I won’t. I do think it’s a great story though, with hints of Victor Hugo’s “Les Miserables.” If you haven't seen the movie, see it. It's excellent! Better than the book. :D
他原本就是要殺死他的,不是嗎?“The man hit him hard and Kimble fell to the floor. The man took the artificial arm and ran out.” 她說:“Richard(主角的名字)......he's trying to kill me.”
Recomanable.
I... guess this was a great book? It was basically the movie (which is great), in book form. I don’t know how many stars to give it, so I’ll just be a pansy and give it 3.
The main character of the book is a doctor who was convicted for the suspect he murdered his wife. Even though he escaped successfully from the prison, he faced many crisis one after another. I wanted to cheer him up because he was fighting for his life and his wife.
The Fugitive by J.M Dillard is about a man who is accused of murdering his wife, but when he has a chance to run, he takes advantage of it. He must try to find his wife's real killer, the one-armed man. This booked is full of action and suspense, but it isn't hard to follow.
This book has great examples of setting, it really painted a picture in my head. It also had great character development, I really got attached to the characters, and I understood the emotions they were feeling throughout the book. The author used great word choice, the words he chose were very descriptive. This book was one of the best books I've ever read, it kept me engaged the whole time and I never wanted to put it down.
I loved the ending, it wrapped up the whole story very nicely. I've read books in the past where the book ends so abruptly and it feels like it was rushed to get finished. This book didn't feel like that at all, it was a nice end to the book. It was a nail-biter, the ending could have gone different ways but the author picked the best way to go.
This is the perfect book for young adults or adults who love the perfect amount of action and suspense. The characters are lovable, and so is the book.
# penguin active reading, level 3 # Time 10/9 - 1hour 10/10-30minutes=90minutes # Discussion questions 1. Main character's wife was killed by his friend . If your wife was killed by your friend, can you allow your friend? No, because I won't allow forever and I won't like him or her. 2. The main character is a doctor. Do you want to be? No, because I can't see blood of person.
This book is very interesting, main character is a brave man and police is a good man. I was excited, but about last scene is little difficult to understand . I recommend this book .
A book that I just picked up from a friend desk, would become one of the best books I ever had to read. Never underestimate the power and will of a man accused of murder and is out there to prove his innocence. More interesting when the film version character is portrayed by Harrison Ford
Somewhat stilted. A more in depth analysis of the motives underlying a character's decisions, but no shockers or much additional backstory presented for the characters from the movie.
