The reason this volume and this series is amazing is because it grabs you by the heart, squeezes it until you can't breathe, breaks it and leaves you wanting more. You kinda have to wonder if that's the way Nana-chan feels. She's always saying she can forgive Yano and can never stay mad at him. She really is a push over, and that's the one thing I don't like about her.

But this series is so good because well...you just have to read it honestly. It can't be explained. It can only be felt.

And what happened is just....OH MY GOD! It was freakin' devastating. Through volumes 1-4 is EXACTLY what Nana-chan said Yano was at the end. Did that sentence make sense? Damn you, Yano! And I'm not entirely sure how I feel about Nana-san. I mean, I don't know if I should feel sorry for her or hate her being an inconvenience to Yano and Nana-chan.

God, this series is good.

Haha “So if you look like an idiot, you are cute?!” I laughed when Nanami was talking and complaining about Yano with Takeuchi and she never realized Yano was there xD

I am still disliking this series. Things get even more knotty, and we discover some other secrets - about how he's used people in the past. And we see how he's still using people in the future.

Is there anything redeeming here? Nanami is still utterly stupid and is still going along with things she's not sure of - like sex - just to please him. The only thing I can say is that this is perhaps one of the most accurate portrayals of an abusive relationship I've ever seen - but am afraid that the readers will not see that, and instead mistake his extreme possessiveness and even hurtful actions (he made her BLEED?) for something romantic.

This is NOT what a love story should be. I cannot say that enough. Why, again, is this so popular? Is it the angst? Is it the constant drama? I just don't know.

There’s so much to unpack in just one volume… but I am truly sad for Yano. Yeah, he acts like a shit sometimes but he’s hurting. Then at the end, he finally cries and lets it out and Nanami couldn’t handle it. And that’s okay too. It’s hard to be 15 and realize that your bf still loves his dead ex gf. Everyone’s feelings are valid. But can they overcome all of this as teens though?

This one hit too close to home!!

Man, I feel so bad for Nana at the end when she finally gets Yano to admit that he still wants to be with Nana-San (who is dead, but still). I continue to be perplexed by Yano - he isn't exactly nice to Nana, and he's a bit controlling, but I think he's just messed up. Nana is so normal compared to him, but she likes him, so...

I feel bad for Nana. I know that she really cares about Yano, but he needs to sort out his feelings for his dead ex before he is able to move on. Suppressing them is doing him no good. I hope he and Nana can work it out though.

In my review for Vol. 3 I was complaining about how the story had started to slog -- it was reminding me of those 90s shoujo series where there's a couple and you *know* they'll get a HEA by the end of 10 or 12 volumes, but first you have to sit through countless misunderstandings and jealousies of each other's platonic friendships and so on and so forth, while they never actually talk to each other meaningfully or get any closer than they were when they started dating in volume 2. (Marmalade Boy, Vol. 1 I am looking at you here, although the manga wasn't available in the 90s so I only know the story from fansubs of the TV series and IIRC it was such a popular show that they added *several extra seasons* of additional jealousy/miscommunication storylines to keep it running for 76 episodes.) ANYWAY, that's what I was worried about with this series, so I was

I am clearly very engaged again since I immediately downloaded Vol. 5 and have already nearly finished it. I'm crossing my fingers it keeps surprising me like this!

Just finished this volume recently when I had some extra free time to read after falling on stairs lol:). Being in pain and in bed sometimes has its perks! I remember thinking that Yano most definitely needs therapy. And I think the story with the ex girlfriend's sister is also wild. The ending came a slight surprise. I also foreshadow a romance or at least a crush with nana-chan and takeuchi, he seems more mature and less trust issues compared to yano, but also (as far as the readers know), unlike yano, takeuchi is not dealing with grief and betrayal.
Yano needs more time to 'get over' his ex.

I agree with someone else's comment on this volume that this series is a bit confusing, disturbing, angsty, and dramatic, but you can't deny that you can't keep reading. The ending scene of this volume is so sad! I'm not sure what kind of sadness, but I really felt bad for Nana. She had to protect herself in the end, but I can't believe that's what Yano said in his bout of sadness. I can't blame him though! These two really need help!

We see recontextualization. All those moments of love--of re-affirmation of love, the condition of which is far more interiorily expressed yet still only one phrase, I love you, satisfies--are given the moment of breakage and cannot hold. Yano still loves the dead Nana, loves her dearly; forgives her sins, her cheating. His desire for Nana the newer--this desire is in a sense fabricated, the same lust he had for the sister, but different--for he does like the living Nana.

This one wasn’t my favorite. I went ahead and read the summary for the series and it has some good twists and turns. It feels like a drama tv series. It never gets all that deep or anything but it’s a fun ride.

Seeing more of the past, painful truths, awkward moments... Another soap opera manga, but good none the less. The art is pretty cute. Yano is still an ass at times, but he is also so vulnerable…

***This review is for volumes 1-4***

Summary: Nana has a crush on Yano, but he's still upset over the death of his last girlfriend. When the two do get together, it's the stereotypical "girl wants to be loved forever, boy wants to have sex" contrast. Finally, a secret from Yano's past threatens the lovebirds' shaky relationship.

Yay!: Well, the portrayal of teen romance is certainly spot-on. The constant flip between whether Yano's deceased girlfriend was a victim or a b-word is interesting.

Nay!: Oh, the endless angst! Once again, it's teen heroine thinking she's desperately in love with the cute guy who treats her like dirt. I liked Nana's habit of smacking Yano back into line when they were friends, but after they got together, she turned into an over-dramatic doormat. The story is difficult to get into unless you just love soap operas. I wouldn't recommend it.

Added weirdness: The heroine shares a name with the dead girlfriend, but not much is made of the coincidence.

Sólo a gente alegre. Si cumplen esa condición... cualquier persona es buena."

"Los recuerdos de la gente son vagos. Hasta lo que no tiene color, lo tiene. Cada uno los pinta a su manera... y los glorifica. En realidad se les da más significado del que tienen. Por ese motivo yo nunca he creído en "los bonitos recuerdos"."

I guess that Yano's inability to get over Nana led to the end of this part of the book. I really hate how Nanami won't notice how Take loves her either. She's so dense, and she never believes that anything is wrong until it's finally in front of her face. This series is really horrible for me now. I hoped to enjoy it, but that's not going to happen. And I know that Nanami's still going to be chasing after Yano, even though they broke up.

Haha Yano os so funny when he mentions certain things to Nanami. I like this series because it's so heart warming at times, and shocking at others. I already know what happens because I watched the anime, but i was still sad when I saw they broke up. I wish I could run to the nearest book store and grab the next volume, but too bad that's like 10 miles away. :'(
