Ten years is a long time to hide from your past. After a terrible accident, Dylan left Bear Bluff, his grandpa told him never to return. If he wanted to make a good life for himself, he was better off starting again, where no one knew who he was and what he’d done. Dylan took that advice, and worked hard to achieve success.
But now he’s back. And what was supposed to be a short trip looks as if it’s going to turn into something much longer. Like forever...
Steph doesn’t need a mate. Especially one as sexy and dangerous as Dylan Taylor. Why did he have to haul his leather clad hide back into Bear Bluff now? And why does he have to decide to ride past her on his motorcycle when she’s broken down on the side of the road? But more importantly - why does he have to be her mate?
She’s had enough of men, doesn’t need one, especially one that is trouble on two legs. But Dylan might just be the man to prove she does need a man. A man like him; in her life and in her bed.
This bear is back in town, and he’s going to stay, at least until he’s made Steph see he’s the one for her.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
I suspected he wasn't the one who killed his friend. Why didn't Tilly come out and confess to being the one who killed Greg, coward. Then he lets the brother beat him up, what if he had tried to kill him.
Steph is a bear shifter struggling with the weight of destruction after her brother left town, leaving behain a family farm deep in dept and emptying her mother's bank account. Dylan is a bear shifter, a bad boy turned good. Dylan is back in Bear Bluff after leaving in the back of a police car. The last thing he was expecting was to come face to face with his fated mate at the side of the road. This is a lovely story with a really good twist on the plot. Highly recommended
The Bear Is Back In Town is a great book! This is the first book in the Return to Bear Bluff series. It is a fantastic book about bear shifters, true mates, overcoming problems from the past and much more. I really enjoyed reading Steph's and Dylan's story. Two bears who returned to their hometown and found each other. What more can a bear shifter hope for? I would definitely recommend this book to others to read. I volunteered to read this book and am now leaving an honest review.
Kindle Unlimited standalone read. He left because of something that someone else did but that's his secret. It's only supposed to be for a week but once he finds his mate and she's been in his hometown all along.. but what if she can't leave and he can't stay?
An intriguing book with hot moments. Our hero, Dylan, is a motorcycle riding, bear shifter. Our heroine, Stephanie, she prefers Steph, is an independent, outspoken, bear shifter that doesn't take shit from anybody.
Find out what happens when these two discover that they are mates and learn more about each other.
Looks to be another great series by Harmony Raines
First book in a new series, but can see it is already going to be a great one, this is going to shifters helping each other over come their pass at start a new live, going to be fun reading.
The Bear is Back in Town (Return To Bear Bluff Book 1) by Harmony Raines. Dylan has been away from Bear Bluff for 10 years. When he returns he meets Steph his mate. Can their love survive the reason he left.
A Shapeshifter story, the author involves previous characters which give the story more depth. Great characters and storyline about shifters helping each other.
this story was fast moving and made sense. I really like the shifter stories. strong male and female characters and the story doesn't seem to have any soft spots.
Five stars is a rating to be hoped for. Harmony Raines Is to be commended for bringing us another glimpse of her fascinating world in Bear Bluff. She entices and then produces An exciting new world for us to enjoy.
Dylan has his hands full as he tries to hide his secret that happened 10 years ago. The secret that made him leave his home and never look back, until his Grandpa came to mind and he felt the need to return. Was it a good choice, or one that he should have avoided. Good Book to read, especially if you read her other books.
This was a book that immediately drew you in. Dylan didn't want to face his past until his future lied in his past. Stephanie didn't want a man. She had enough experience with their dominating and belittling ways. That was until she broke down on the side of the road and the one man who could break her no man rule is the one to rescue her. Can't wait to read more from this series.
Dylan is returning to Bear Bluff after being away from home for a decade. His grandfather still lives in their old cabin, but he’s getting up in years and can no longer make the trip to the city to visit with Dylan easily, so this time Dylan is coming home. He’s a changed, successful man who is far different from the young man who left under a cloud. Only he and one other person know the facts behind his leaving, and Dylan intends for it to stay that way. What he hadn’t expected was to find his mate broken down on the side of the road on the way home. He wasn’t certain if the fates were working for or against him, but he couldn’t turn his back on the one person meant for him.
Stephanie has also been away from home for awhile. After her father’s death and her brother’s actions she returned to help her mother tend to their farm. If Steph has her way soon the property will become a successful Bed & Breakfast giving her mother a decent living while retaining her home. Trouble is the farm is in bad shape and she cannot really afford to hire help so she’s learning as she goes. Too bad her ancient truck decided to simply shut down far from home. Oh, she could shift and make it home but then she’d have to leave the lumber here… and she needed that for repairs at home. Just as she was certain she’d have to take the risk she heard a motorcycle coming down the road. Little did she know that soon she’d be face to face with her mate and life was going to get interesting.
The Bear Is Back In Town starts off the new series Return To Bear Bluff with a fun, sexy and interesting story. Dylan and Steph, while facing a few complications, actually make the flow into mates very smoothly. Neither fought it… well, much on Steph’s part. And while the getting the mate on the same page is entertaining, sometimes it’s simply fun to watch two people accept their fate and move forward with life. Dylan is holding a few things back from Steph. And while they were important things, the way they were revealed made sense and fit this couple perfectly.
No high drama, but a simply, touching and sexy love match between two Shifters who definitely needed each other. I enjoyed this one very much and have downloaded the next story in this series. If you love Shifter Romance then I believe you’d like The Bear Is Back In Town.
I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription. For ten dollars a month you get access to thousands of really great stories across all genre, and the authors get paid for you reading the story through to the 100% mark. It’s a win-win. Probably the best 10 bucks I spend a month.
OH HELL YEA!!!!! Harmony Raines knocked another first book in a new series out of the ball park. I love her bears and I especially love Bear Bluff and Bear Creek. She shows her talent by bringing in new characters and weaving them in with the characters already living in the towns. I love reading a new book and seeing a character mentioned that I already know. Especially when those characters add to the intensity of the story line. Who doesn’t love bears, secrets, millionaires, quirky family members, and soul grabbing SEX!!!! This book is recommended by me and for mature readers 18 years of age or older.
Dylan Taylor is a bear shifter who is originally from Bear Bluff but left town 10 years ago in order to hide his past and start over. When he left his grandpa told him to never come back. So Dylan had to make a new life for himself. So he had to start over again in a place where he didn’t know anyone and they didn’t know him or what he had done. So Dylan took his grandfather’s advice he rebuilds his life and works hard to achieve success. He decided to make a quick trip to Bear Bluff in order to check on his grandpa who was getting on in years. He loved his grandpa dearly because he had raised him. Dylan had no idea that his short trip to Bear Bluff would last longer than he had planned. He surely never expected to find his mate. Can he win her over? But the biggest question is, can he live in Bear Bluff after what had happened 10 years ago?
Stephanie “Steph” Summerfield is a bear shifter like her father and brother. Her mother is human. Steph decided she didn’t need a mate, especially if he was going to be like her father and brother; lazy and expecting her mother to do it all. And nor did she need a tall, sexy man like Dylan Taylor who just happens to drive up and stop to help her after her truck stopped on her on the side of the road. Now she wants to know why he is back in town after all these years, and why did he have to be the one to stop and help her? The biggest question is why does he have to be her mate? She was tired of men and didn’t need any in her life especially Dylan Taylor. She knows he is trouble with a capital T. Only thing Steph doesn’t realize is that Dylan could prove her wrong and show her that she did need a man in her life and in her bed. Will Dylan win Steph over and prove that he is there to stay? Will Steph give him the benefit of doubt when Dylan’s past demons show up? Or will history repeat itself?
I thought when the book started out that he took the blame for the other person's death. However, I didn't expect an attempted rape and an accidental death to be the back story. Good story overall.
A very enjoyable read that brings us back to Bear Bluff. I cannot remember these two characters Stephanie and Dylan being mentioned though they were both born and raised there. Will have to go back and do some reading to see. Stephanie was level headed and was not afraid of hard work. I liked her a lot. The B&B idea was brilliant. Her mum Kitty found her backbone nicely and is heading towards her own HEA. Paul the brother is a waste of space and a thief. Dylan was great but I am still unclear as to why he said he killed Greg when it was an accident. I hate injustice. He made a good name for himself in construction once released from juvie and has done very well for himself. The snippet for book 2, Bear Necessity has me hooked already. I can see a theme for this series which explains book 1.
I am hoping in future books that Tilly will tell the truth and clear Dylan’s name.
Steph's and her mother, some would say, are down on their luck. Steph is driving back from the lumber mill with a load when her truck dies. She is on a back road and there is no traffic. Until..She..Heard..A motorcycle coming with her mate on it. Dylan has not been to Bear Bluff in ten years. Grandpa always comes to the city to see him. Then he feels an electric charge, a knowing. His mate is near, with a broken down truck. It's a good thing he's handy. He follows her back to the farm and says he will see her in the morning. He finds out the next morning why the place is in need of so much repair and why there are very few animals. You can find out by reading the book. As they work and play together they get to know each other, do they like what they find out? Can they share their honey with each other? Will Dylan's big secret tear them apart? I volunteered to review this book with entirely my own opinion.
Dylan and Steph's story really pulls on your heartstrings and that is what I loved about it. It has you wondering all types of things about his past. He had been away from Bear's Bluff for 10 years and now he was returning to visit the man who was his everything. He is concerned about the townsfolk's reaction though. As he gets to town he sees a woman in distress because her old truck is having problems. To his surprise, she is his fated mate and he can't even remember her name.
Steph has been trying to make something of her family farm before her family looses it because of her brother's stupidity. Things look really bleak in that arena though. Her and her mother are struggling to even put food on the table. Now the old truck just broke down...what else could go wrong...oh no!!... bad boy Dylan is what is wrong now...and he is my mate!!!!
Dylan's bear is feeling restless and worried. He wants to see his grandfather, and see for himself that the old man is ok. Steph is back in Bear Creek, the family farm is in ruin thanks to her brother a Paul. She needs to repair things, so she & her mom can open a B&B. Fate steps in when two people least expect it! What is Steph supposed to do now? She grew up watching her father dominate her mother. This was never going to happen to her, she is her own woman! For Dylan, this was a 2 week vacation, not a move back to a place that didn't want him here! The connection is strong, but damn, this is inconvenient. With a beautiful set of mountains in the backdrop, this story is sexy, erotic and "wild honey" sweet! I definitely recommend you check out this entire series!
I love the Bear Bluff stories. They always make me feel like I am part of the town. Harmony Raines does a great job in always showing a few characters from town in each story. In the newest story, we meet Steph and Dylan. She is back to save their family farm and help her mother. He is back to see Hus grandpa and decide what he should do with his life. They never expected to find their mate on the side of the road. Now that the have, they will do everything they can to make it work. Great story with well developed characters.
This story is about Steph a bear shifter who has come back to help her mom save the family farm after her father and brother have made a mess of things. Dylan is a bear shifter who has come back to town to check on his grandpa and figure out what to do next in life.
This is one of those insta love fate mate books. With that said overall it is a cute short story about second chances and finding a happily ever after.
Well I think I found a new series to love. The story was perfect, loved Stephanie and Dylan. Break down on the side of the road and find a mate, if only it was that easy, but for Stephanie it was. This was a well put together book and I loved the mom (Kitty), she reminds me of a lot of the old ways and I'm happy Stephanie did what she did for her.
