When he learns Kir is in danger, though, he has no choice but to come out of hiding and use every deadly skill at his disposal. Then try to pull away before he unwillingly takes aim at Kir. Kir is having none of it. Now that he has Josh back in his life, he s confident his powers as a Minder and their love will keep them both safe. But Josh is not the same man who disappeared almost a year ago. The agency has seen to that, and they have a fallback plan to bring Kir back under their control or see them both dead."This book was previously published by Samhain Publishing."

I'm giving all three virtually the same review because they're basically more of a serial novel than a series. You have to read all three in the series because the first two end in cliffhangers and they're short. Keep that in mind because the first two do not have an HEA/HFN. I'm someone who requires a happy ending, but it was okay, because I had the other books at hand, and I knew it would eventually turn out okay. The end really isn't an ending, it's very much the end of a section or chapter.

I love the world she's built. I read another book in this world before this one so I knew the answer to one secret that is actually not revealed in this book. But there's drama aplenty, lots of mortal danger and mayhem and intense emotion and I just eat that stuff up. It's like manna for me.

There's also not only a history of abuse, but in the first one, a rather graphic attempted rape scene that reads a little like an inaccurate BDSM story. (What I mean isn't that someone is chased down a dark alley and thrown behind a dumpster.) Angst pervades the books, too. God this stuff is so great. If you don't like melodrama, though, you'll probably hate this. But I like it. It's like she wrote it just for me.

This episode is 4.5 stars because it isn't the best M/M book ever written but it was very good. I'm rounding it up because I just love this kind of stuff and this was everything I wanted except I wish it were just a little longer and the mortal danger stuff drawn out a little more.

This is book three in the Minder series and it has been a mixed experience for me. I gave book one and two three stars and I am also giving this book 3 stars even though I can't say I really liked it.

I think the idea behind the story is original but I just didn't like the content. First of all in book 1 the story leaps right into the middle. There is no back story or developing the context for the story and so I felt as if I was playing catch up, trying to understand who was who and what was going on.

Book 1 narrates some child abuse that happened in the past and I didn't like that. Book 2 has some rape scenes (non-consensual sex) and even though it wasn't in graphic detail I didn't like that either. :(

Book 1 kept referring to Kir as boy even though he was 20 and together with the discussion about the child abuse I found this to be very bleugh and uncomfortable. :(

Obviously I didn't like that either.

The writing is good. The idea is good but this isn't really one for me. I was kind of disappointed because I have read the author's shifter series and really enjoyed all of those . I guess you win some and lose some and I think this set of books was just not really for me.

I have given it three stars because I thought the quality of story telling was good. It is just that the story isn't to my particular taste. :(

I liked the books -- Monster, Zombie, Minder -- as a whole but wouldn't want to read them separately. They first two just cut off practically mid-sentence, and even the last one ends abruptly. Rather than a story arc, I felt like it was a story cliff -- climb climb climb then splat off the edge.
That said, I did like the story and wish she had written a #4 to finish off Kir and Josh's story.

As a whole, the trilogy has a well planned arc with very difficult themes. There are many things that I thought were handled well ... if bad stuff HAS to happen then I have no trouble believing that this is how it could have happened. Both Josh and Kir where likable characters and what they went through was vile. This series is not for squeamish.

So why the 3 stars. Mainly, I felt that the writing was too abrupt for my taste, almost choppy. There isn't anything that I can point to as obviously wrong, but just overall unsettling.

**I had never read anything from Joely Skye but the latest Wolf Town releases have caught my attention, and as I understand that the Minder series, Northern Shifter series, and the Wolf Town series are all connected, I have to start at the beginning. Especially since one of my book club members is a huge fan and keeps adding them to my ever growing TBR list.

More like 3.5 stars. I have a couple of issues on how the two of them finally get together. I mean, after being pushed against his will by the evil Brad, Josh should take more time before being able to be dominant with Kir. And there are some issues with their capture by the agency and how it all go down, that feels too rushed for me. Like there is something on the plot that just doesn't sit right. BUT, overall, I enjoy reading the trilogy.

I think it's obvious that I super loved this short series, and I really wish it had been longer. I liked Kir a lot (is it "keer" or "ker"?) and was so ridiculously happy that he finally got to hear someone loved him. SDLFKJSLDKFJ. Feelings. lol. :P I love this author and her books.... #shameless fangirl

Unfortunately, I found myself losing interest a few times while reading this one. The sex scenes were a bit... Clinical? Insert tab A into slot B. And the word "spurt" is not very sexy. I did like seeing Trey pop into this one, that was cool.

Minder is definitely the worst novella so far, the dialogues were hardly readable due to how awful they were. They rest of the story followed the same formula as the first two books: 50% sex, 50% clichéd thriller.

The book was really great in the beginning, but I felt like more could have happened at the end. It just seemed like everything got tied up a bit too nicely for Kir and Josh.
