Der Atomstaat. Vom Fortschritt in die Unmenschlichkeit.

Rate this book
The twentieth century is now faced with a major decision that will affect the lives of future generations and even the survival of life on this planet. Nuclear weapons have been followed by nuclear energy which, it is argued, is essential to supply electricity and other power needs as fossil fuels run out. We are told of the enormous care taken to avoid serious accidents, sabotage and seepage of radiation, while the impression is fostered by governments and the nuclear industry that the security measures taken make this form of energy totally safe. In this vitally important book, the author shows that (1) these assurances are not true; (2) the record of accidents and security leaks would be high for any industry and (3) that it is the nature of the work itself which makes further accidents inevitable, putting at risk our health and perhaps the lives of us all.
