A decent entry in the series, we learn about the other side of the coin now. Abel and Esther travel to the New Human Empire, political seat of the vampire, that is, the Methuselah nation. Ruled over by the immortal Empress, the Methuselahs have a rigid hierarchy that protect all its members. All is not paradise it seems animated corpses are used to assassinate high-ranking members of the Empress' court and to lay the blame at the feet of her newly returned envoy, Ion Fortuna.
Fun and exciting, but sometimes the language is a bit stilted, it's a translation from Japanese so some of the ideas come across a bit confused. In fact, sometimes the actual words are hard to follow. All in all the story is solid, we learn a bit about Abel and his relationship to the events that have occurred in the past? And what is all this talk about an ominous second moon?
If you've seen the series you know, but let's keep it secret for now.

This one definitely is the best book of the series, the rest is just so-so.

Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy this half Sci-Fi, half vampire legend series well, but the cliche about at book 5 really is turn-off-ish.

Just like the previous two book, I love the setting and the techie vampires. That said, the dialog is just so bad some times that it really becomes hard to follow. I'm not sure if that is because the writer is not proficient in English, or if it is an issue with translation.
